Chapter 20 Marriage Alliance?

Su Laodie had drunk too much.

He ignored Su Yehao’s words, went straight to the familiar stall, ordered a serving of stir-fried beef and bacon rice, and tried to suppress the alcohol.

Su Yehao’s mother, Tang Jiayu, was equally absent-minded at the moment.

Instead, she accompanied her son to buy oyster omelets. Fresh oysters with shredded carrots, garlic leaves, eggs, and more, had a unique flavor.

In addition to that, she also bought Oden and pork chop buns.

Since they happened to be at the snack street, there was no reason not to indulge.

It was frustrating.

Su Yehao was very clear that his view of the Hong Kong property market was correct.

When the systemic financial crisis came, the property market would inevitably plummet, and his family’s investments would certainly suffer heavy losses.

However, his parents simply dismissed his words as wind in their ears. After listening, they just smiled and told him not to meddle.

While eating the pork chop bun.

Su Yehao thought carefully and felt that it was normal for his parents to have this attitude.

Firstly, his words carried little weight, and he had a bad track record. Even his own parents would not think that his investment vision was so outstanding; they were still looking at Su Yehao with old eyes.

Secondly, although there had been fluctuations in the Hong Kong property market recently, the Asian financial crisis originating in Thailand had not truly arrived yet. It was only showing signs.

Due to the early land acquisition, the estimated profits of the several properties in Hong Kong were still very considerable.

It was impossible for the couple, Su Sihai and Tang Jiayu, to treat a business involving tens or hundreds of millions of Hong Kong dollars as child's play simply because of their son’s few "crazy words."

In the final analysis.

The reason was still that Su Yehao was too young and inexperienced, so much so that his parents didn’t think his views were correct.

After realizing this, Su Yehao immediately changed his approach.

Thinking that without a reasonable and feasible comprehensive plan, it would be difficult to convince them with just a few words. He had been thinking too simply before.

Involved in such a large business, even if he was the only son in the family, he still had no say in front of Su Laodie, who had been in business for many years.

If Su Laodie had been a soft-eared and good-tempered person, he would not have been able to build such a large family fortune.

Fortunately, there was still some time. Su Yehao simply stopped mentioning the matter and planned to take some time to carefully plan, to present the evidence and facts that would prove his point in front of them, and then persuade them to change their minds.

Su Laodie had caught his son messing around in the Lisboa Hotel a few days ago, and it was still fresh in his mind.

While eating the fried rice, he asked with a smile, "What's going on with today's newspaper? I've met your English teacher. A woman like her can be seduced by you? You're quite capable. I really underestimated you before."

Su Yehao's mother immediately said dissatisfied:

"You start talking nonsense after a little drink. I've said it was just a misunderstanding, that he was framed. Son, I was originally planning to take the opportunity to mention it in front of Zhao Yimeng's parents, to see if our two families could have a marriage alliance. Because of this incident, the timing isn't right, and I can't find an opportunity to bring it up."

"Zhao Yimeng? Marriage alliance!?"

"What's wrong? Son, haven't you been talking about the Zhao family's daughter all the time? Zhao Yimeng is indeed quite good in all aspects. I don't know if she'll take a liking to you. That couple has two daughters and seems to be thinking about recruiting a live-in son-in-law to inherit the family business. It's a bit difficult."

As soon as Su Yehao's mother finished speaking, Su Laodie got anxious and said:

"We only have one son in our family. How can we send him to be a live-in son-in-law for someone else? The Zhao family is powerful, but we're not bad either. However, that girl Zhao Yimeng is indeed quite good. It's not easy to win her over. If she has more children, and one of them is surnamed Zhao, then we can barely talk about it."

It should be known that Su Sihai was also considered half a live-in son-in-law of the Tang family in his early years. Even Su Yehao used to be surnamed Tang when he was a child.

No wonder Su Laodie felt uncomfortable all over when he heard this word, his machismo acting up.

Of course, Su Yehao's mother understood this.

However, the two had been separated for many years, and the more uncomfortable this old guy was, the happier she was.

The reason why the two got together today was indeed only because of business matters, and nothing more.

At this moment, she teased:

"The canary you keep outside is so young, maybe she can have another one for you. If not, then forget it. But if such a thing really happens, don't blame me for not considering our old relationship. I'll take half of everything you have at that time. Maybe even more than half, after all, even the start-up capital for creating the company came from me, and I own most of the shares. Outsiders can't take advantage, including your several concubines."

Hearing this, Su Laodie was immediately overwhelmed and said vaguely, "How old am I? What am I having children for!"

After a simple observation.

Su Yehao discovered that both of his parents had relatively strong personalities, no wonder they couldn’t get along.

All sorts of long-standing contradictions were likely planted back when Su Sihai joined the Tang family.

Perhaps it was because of this that the second and third concubines he later found were not the strong woman type, but simply spent money to play mahjong and cards all day, thinking about where to buy clothes and drink tea, and could only be at ease as a vase-like tai tai.

Su Yehao didn't care about their separation now. Seeing the atmosphere becoming more and more tense, he immediately changed the subject and asked, "Let's not talk about these things. My teacher and I are famous now. I've already found the culprit. Can we find the media to clarify tomorrow?"

Su Laodie calmly ridiculed, "With all the bad things you've done, even if you clarify it now, it will continue to be exposed in the future. Do you still care about your reputation?"

Su Yehao continued, "It doesn't matter if I'm thick-skinned, but English teacher Linda Yun is innocent. If this matter isn't clarified, how will she work at the school in the future?"

"Very good, you know how to be considerate of others."

His mother said with a smile, adding, "I've arranged all of this. If I tell the media that you met by chance in the mall, people probably won't believe it. Why don't I contact her in advance and ask her to give you English tutoring lessons?"

It was rare to see Su Yehao care so much about a teacher. Although she felt a little strange, Tang’s mother thought that she could take this opportunity to let her son seize the time to learn more English, which would also make it easier to arrange for him to study abroad in the future.

Su Yehao didn't think much and readily agreed.

Suddenly remembering something important, Su Yehao continued, "By the way, I heard you want to donate money to the university to get me a spot? There's no need to spend such wasted money, right? Why don't I study hard and get into a university myself, and you give me the donation money directly? I just want to try learning about investment and finance recently."

With too many previous offenses, his parents didn't believe such nonsense as "investment and finance" and thought he had his eye on another luxury car.

Despite this, Su Laodie still joked:

"It would be a miracle if you could get into a good university yourself. Let's not talk about anything else, just the University of Hong Kong next door. As long as you can get in, I'll give you ten million Hong Kong dollars, no problem."

Su Yehao shook his head, saying:

"There are many development opportunities in the mainland now. In fact, I would rather go to a top university in the mainland, so I can see in advance where it is suitable for investment. The mainland economy has been very prosperous in recent years, and the market and labor force are so large. It is very likely to take off in the next ten years..."
