Chapter 374 Dreaming!

Chapter 15 The Aftermath

Hearing Su Yehao's words, Jiang Yu was so ashamed she wanted to dig a hole and bury herself.

She already had feelings for this big lummox, and if she drank too much and something actually happened...it wasn't entirely impossible.

Jiang Yu, believing him, immediately ran out of his room like a frightened little rabbit. Her mind was blank for a long while, and she imagined what had happened last night, becoming more and more ashamed as she thought about it.

She was too embarrassed to face anyone, let alone stay in front of Su Yehao.

Just as she left the room, she happened to run into a nanny in the hallway.

The nanny was busy mopping the floor. Seeing her red face, she took off her gloves and reached out to touch her forehead, asking in surprise, "Miss Jiang, you have a fever! Should you see a doctor?"

"No... it's nothing, just hot."

Jiang Yu gave an awkward smile and hurried back to her room, needing to calm down.

After getting up, Su Yehao leisurely finished washing up and casually called his mother, arranging to have lunch together.

Last night, he considered using the idle shares in the trust fund as collateral to invest in a hotel. To make this plan a reality, he needed to persuade his mother first, as the trust fund hadn't been handed over to Su Yehao yet.

He had previously planned to use these shares for a loan and invest the funds in the NASDAQ, but his father had thwarted it.

He figured that this time, buying a building to set up a hotel business shouldn't be blocked by his mother.

Once successful, it wouldn't affect existing investments and would also allow him to venture into real estate and tourism. Aside from the limited profits, there weren't any major drawbacks.

While praising his own wit, Su Yehao thought of Jiang Yu again.

Although there's an old saying that a rabbit doesn't eat the grass near its burrow, this little sprig of grass was too tempting, inevitably making him itch.

But thinking about how close she was to Xiao Nizi and that they lived under the same roof, he wasn't confident he could avoid disaster.

Thinking about it this way, he was glad he hadn't acted rashly last night. Otherwise, this morning wouldn't have gone so smoothly, and they might have fallen out completely.

Of course, he still felt regret, but taking advantage of someone wasn't something he should do in the first place, so there was nothing to say.

After tidying up, he went downstairs for breakfast.

A fragrant plate of shredded pork with green peppers noodles was placed in front of him, and Su Yehao's appetite was whetted.

His personal secretary, Linda Yun, had just arrived at work and, pointing to another bowl of noodles, asked curiously, "Where's Jiang Yu? Isn't she up yet?"

The nanny chimed in, "She's been up for a while. She even went to the yard to feed the fish. Maybe she's sleeping in. I'll go upstairs and call her down."

Su Yehao guessed that Jiang Yu was too embarrassed to face him, so he smiled and asked Linda Yun, "Don't worry about her. She's old enough to take care of herself. Have you had breakfast? Sit down and have something to eat."

Linda Yun was a little tempted and swallowed her saliva, but shook her head.

"Never mind, I had a sandwich and fried eggs at home this morning. iCQ sent an email. I've already printed it out. They're asking a professor from Columbia University to reorganize the management structure to make it more scientific and efficient. They want to know your opinion."

"They're more professional. Let's listen to them. I didn't even graduate from college. I definitely don't have as much experience as those professors in this area."

Su Yehao got a headache every time he saw professional reports, especially the English versions from America. He didn't need to guess that they were full of technical terms.

Linda Yun had been by his side for more than half a year, so she knew Su Yehao's temper well. She then asked, "According to the usual practice, should I hand it over to your assistant's office?"

"Yes, as long as there are no problems, follow the new McKinsey Consulting plan."

Su Yehao began to eat his noodles and casually flipped through today's newspaper. He was surprised to find that Deputy Director Zheng Yongwen had announced his resignation as chief consultant, and even cursed during the press conference, his face black the whole time.

According to the news, two months ago, when the Hang Seng Index climbed to a high of 8,000 points, international hot money massively shorted the Hang Seng Index, establishing a large number of Hang Seng Index short positions.

The relevant authorities misjudged the situation, mistakenly believing that international hot money intended to short the Hong Kong dollar, so they repeatedly raised short-term lending rates, increasing the cost of international hot money to short the Hong Kong dollar. However, the real target of international capital was the liquidity of the Hong Kong dollar.

The market was short of money, and people sold assets to seek liquidity, with the bulk of asset sales being the stock market.

As the chief consultant, Zheng Yongwen repeatedly reminded them, but his words fell on deaf ears. In the end, he was pushed out as a scapegoat because the Hang Seng Index fell below 6,700 points this week, so he couldn't help but lose his temper on the spot.

In short, the history Su Yehao was familiar with was repeating itself.

The Hong Kong dollar was saved, but the stock market was in a mess, shorted and completely fleeced.

This was definitely an opportunity to make a fortune, but Su Yehao didn't have the ability to seize it. He said regretfully, "Why bother, Director Zheng? You went to suffer for nothing. If you had continued to cooperate with me, we would have made a killing together long ago."

Last year, Zheng Yongwen said he wanted to flex his muscles.

Now it seemed that his muscles hadn't been flexed at all; he was the one who was beaten down by others first. Otherwise, he wouldn't have faced reporters and angrily announced his resignation.

Su Yehao only knew the general trend and didn't think he could grasp the short-term fluctuations, so he only dared to go to the United States to speculate in stocks.

Thinking that the Hang Seng Index had fallen from 8,000 to 6,700, with profits of hundreds of millions, or even billions, of Hong Kong dollars hidden within, even the shredded pork with green peppers noodles in front of him didn't smell as good.

Since he couldn't cooperate with Deputy Director Zheng Yongwen before, and now he had missed the opportunity, even if Zheng Yongwen turned around and came to him, Su Yehao wouldn't dare to wade into the muddy water again.

Clicking his tongue, he was now thinking that even if he couldn't eat the meat, he should at least drink some soup.

That soup referred to the real estate whose price had fallen to the bottom due to the drag of Hong Kong stocks.

As for bottom-fishing in Hong Kong stocks, the investment prospects weren't as good as internet companies, so there was no need to bother...

He asked Linda Yun to help check the recent stock price of the Donghuang Group.

As soon as she left, Jiang Yu came downstairs to the restaurant, sat across from Su Yehao expressionlessly, and said in a low voice, "Let's just pretend it was a dream. Don't say anything to Nangong Tian. If things get out of hand, it won't be good for either of us."

Su Yehao looked at her and only said, "I'm not afraid. I'm the victim. I was ambushed by you without any defenses. I couldn't react at all."

Hearing this, Jiang Yu's nose was almost crooked with anger, and she continued in a low voice, "Are you deliberately trying to harm me! We'll just go down together. I'll say you took advantage of me while I was drunk. See who she'll believe."

"...I think she should believe me," Su Yehao said.

Recalling Xiao Nizi's usual obedience to Su Yehao, Jiang Yu suddenly felt that he made a lot of sense, and immediately deflated, acting pitiful and begging, "Don't mess around. How will I face anyone if this gets out? I promised to keep an eye on you for her, but now the problem comes from me. Wouldn't that be too embarrassing?"

Su Yehao smiled happily and said casually, "It's okay to make me shut up, but I want to treat you the same way you treated me last night."

Jiang Yu: "?"

After finally calming down, she was flustered again. She gritted her teeth and said defiantly, "Dream on!"
