Chapter 60: Wind and Thunder Dance (Seeking Monthly Tickets)
It was as if darkness was crashing down. Remember [End of Book Website] to easily access website address for mobile users:
"Who's there!" The moment the shout left his lips, the glint of a sword flashed in the darkness alongside a figure rushing forward. Yet, it was only a brief glimmer, and he couldn't discern where the sword had passed. There were merely three sharp sounds of *啪啪啪*, and the figure crossed paths with him. The shadow seemed to brush against one of the galloping horses for a moment, using its body as leverage. A second later, it stepped onto the carriage shaft, already slicing past him. Then, the horse in front soared into the air, the carriage wheels leaving the ground, tilting. The third step landed on the tilting carriage, moving away.
The horses whinnied loudly—
Song Xian yanked open the carriage curtain, and firelight streaked across his eyes. His constricting pupils reflected the scene ahead. In that instant, the front carriage's axles spun wildly, already tilted in mid-air. One of the horses kicked its hooves. The sword light swept across the side of the creature's body, extending past the soldier driving the carriage. A spray of blood erupted, appearing to rush towards them head-on due to the high speed. Foremost was the black figure leveraging himself on the tilting carriage body, the figure magnified in the air, wielding the sword in both hands, already poised to unleash a full-force strike, covering the distance of over twenty meters in the speeding carriage!
The driver beside Song Xian had already drawn his blade, but before he could assume a defensive stance, metal clashed. Sparks flashed, and the force pressed back into his chest in an instant.
With a deafening roar, the figure pierced through the carriage like a cannonball, half the carriage shattering and scattering across the long street. Two figures tumbled to the ground, quickly distancing themselves from the carriage. One, a woman, rolled several times and stood up, brandishing her weapon and striding forward. The other was crushed beyond recognition by the immense impact, bones broken and flesh torn, left far behind on the road, thick blood spreading around.
The two carriages were still moving, but the horses had been spooked. Half the body of one horse in the lead carriage was sliced open. The other horse was also affected, rolling violently. Relying on the immense inertia, the collapsing carriage continued to push forward on the long street, crashing into the various stalls, wooden frames, and leftover trash used by vendors during the day. The carriage axle snapped, and a wooden wheel flew backward, smashing into the carriage shaft. The carriage continued to hurtle forward due to inertia, constantly disintegrating. When the impact of the two carriages finally ceased, the aftermath was a scene of devastation stretching nearly a hundred meters along the long street.
Dismembered carriage boxes, chassis, axles, wheels, the various wooden frames and debris already on the street, blood trails dragged across the ground, discarded vegetable leaves, dead galloping horses, entrails, people, some lightly wounded, some severely, trying to crawl up from the ground.
The wind blew from the head of the long street, and the woman in black lowered her sword slightly, walking casually. It was summer, and the night wind caressed her clothing, her figure as lithe and slender as any ordinary woman, showing no hint of the ferocity with which she had just shattered two carriages with almost a single blow. A black scarf now covered her face, and her gaze, fixed on Song Xian, was cold and indifferent. After a moment, she lightly flicked the sword blade, and the sword gave a clear, resonant ring, trembling slightly.
Ahead, Song Xian stood up, holding his long saber. After all, he was skilled in martial arts, and was not seriously injured. He simply tilted his head, looking at the indifferent figure.
"Song Xian, I told you last time." In the darkness, her voice was clear and cold. A wounded personal guard nearby, having lost his weapon, picked up a wooden stick and rushed over with a shout. The sword danced, the sound like tearing fabric, and streaks of blood crisscrossed in the air. The woman simply walked forward.
"I will definitely kill you!"
"Lu! Hong! Ti!"
On the long street, Song Xian roared in a deep voice. Then, sparks burst forth, and the fierce clash of metal began to light up the street...

Traveling at full speed, he returned to the side gate of the Su residence in short order. As Ning Yi got out of the carriage, Xiao Chan looked confused: "Young Master, what's wrong?"
"Xiao Chan, you go back first, I have some things to do."
"Uh..."
As Ning Yi finished speaking, he turned to leave, but Xiao Chan suddenly grabbed his sleeve: "Young... Young Master, what is it?"
Xiao Chan was visibly flustered by Ning Yi’s attempt to send her away. Ning Yi hesitated, then patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, it's nothing... Be good, I'll be back soon..."
"But... but..."
Ning Yi walked towards the carriage. Xiao Chan paced anxiously, not knowing what to say, walking a few steps towards the gate, until Uncle Bing, the gatekeeper, walked out from the other side: "Ah, Miss Xiao Chan, you're back with the Young Master... Uh, where's the Young Master?"
The gatekeeper looked outside. The carriage was already slowly starting. "Young Master, he... Young Master, he... I don't know..." Her mind was in a jumble, recalling some of the things the young lady had said a few days ago. *The Young Master has abandoned me to see some vixen...* But this was only a temporary, confused thought; she certainly couldn't tell the gatekeeper that.
"Young Master..."
The little girl turned around and ran out the gate again. Ahead on the road outside the side gate, the carriage had already begun to accelerate. Xiao Chan clenched her fists, lifted her skirt and chased after it. At the intersection ahead, the carriage suddenly slowed down, then stopped.
A group of people emerged from the T-shaped intersection, quickly running past the intersection ahead of Ning Yi. These were a dozen or so personal guards of the Wu Lie Army, rushing hurriedly to the other side.
*How could they be so fast...*
Ning Yi muttered in the carriage, then turned the carriage around and chased in the direction the dozen or so people had run.
Xiao Chan also saw the dozen or so riders running past the intersection, and then the Young Master drove the carriage after them. She chased to the intersection, her face still complex and anxious, a strange feeling vaguely rising in her heart. But Ning Yi's carriage had already sped away, disappearing on the other side of the intersection.
"What is Young Master going to do..."
Actually, on closer thought, she rejected the idea that the Young Master was running off to see some courtesan at this time. The Young Master wasn't that kind of person; even if he really wanted to see one, he wouldn't be so hurried like this. But she really couldn't understand the sudden change of events. The girl, who had carefully dressed up today to watch the performance, returned to the front of the mansion feeling dejected, hugging her knees and sitting on the steps, occasionally turning her head to look at one end of the road, hoping that the Young Master's carriage would turn back from that side. When the gatekeeper called her from behind, she stood up again. Just as she was about to turn around, a burst of fireworks lit up the night sky.
The place where the fireworks were set off wasn't very far away, but it wasn't some celebratory fireworks either. She vaguely understood the meaning of the fireworks, and instinctively took a step forward, raising her head and looking towards that side. The gatekeeper also walked over. After a few seconds, the girl murmured, "Uncle Bing, that... what's wrong?"
"Oh, it seems to be a signal arrow for the army to apprehend criminals. I'm afraid some thieves are up to no good tonight again... How immoral..."
*******************
"Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!"
The sound of sabers whistling and metal clashing was like rain hitting banana leaves, echoing through the long street, dense and chaotic. This night, the surroundings of this long street suffered. The doors of some shops had been smashed open by the fragments of the flying carriage, and some rooms were occupied, first lighting the lamps, and then quickly extinguishing them. In the street below, figures chased and fought like a chaotic dance, the clash of metal drawing amazing sparks in the air. Sometimes a deafening sound, a body was beaten into a pile of debris on the street, unable to move, blood dappling and flowing into a pool. Several corpses had already been laid out on the road, and a brave man, wielding a saber, shouted hysterically, swinging the blade like a net, trying to survive under the immense pressure coming from the front.
His martial arts skills were originally considered first-rate in the martial world, but at this time the woman's swordsmanship was too powerful. Swift and yet powerful, like a summer storm, crashing head-on. He tried his best to resist, but was still overwhelmed, the sparks dancing wildly before his eyes. From time to time, an extremely powerful move would appear in the swordsmanship, like the roar of wind and thunder, smashing his full-force saber open.
And the opponent's attack was not just the somewhat clumsy-looking sword; she sometimes held the sword in one hand, sometimes chopped with both hands, the changes quick and natural, dazzling. Sometimes the saber had just been smashed open, and the woman's left palm had already pushed through the gap in the saber light, slamming into his face, piercing his eyes, or suddenly gouging his throat. The white wrist was slender, the five fingers waving like a dance, making it difficult to understand that this was such a vicious and deadly attack. He dodged awkwardly to the side, and the sword light stabbed again. Waving his saber to block, the woman's toes tapped the broken bamboo pole on the ground, also silently stabbing towards his waist, like a viper that had been lying dormant for a long time. This woman could use various objects around her as weapons at any time, making it feel like he was facing three or four people, not just one opponent.
There were only a few personal guards in the two carriages, and now they were either dead or injured. Those with minor injuries rushed into the battle between the two, and the next moment they were spat out like they had been through a meat grinder. Song Xian fought and retreated, but the woman followed like a shadow, completely unable to get rid of her. Wounds had already appeared on his body, quickly forcing his life force to the limit in a short time after the battle began.
He could only continue to swing his saber in constant shouts. At one point, he grabbed a rotten wooden table next to him and swung it over. With a deafening roar, the entire table shattered into flying sawdust, and the slashing sword light suddenly turned from hard to soft, silently stabbing into his arm, then drawing it out again.
Song Xian ignored the injury, and taking advantage of the flying sawdust, he retreated quickly. The woman's black figure broke through the flying objects, closing in without giving an inch. With a *ping*, sparks burst again, and Song Xian was sent flying with blood, now at the corner of the street. The sound of hoofbeats thundered, and then engulfed the two of them.
Ping, ping, ping--
Hooves flew, and the sound of hoofbeats roared past. Sparks continued to light up in the woman's original position. Then, a horse whinnied. It crashed into the human body blocking the front, reared up, and under the huge impact, the woman's figure had flown into the air, but the figure seemed to stick to the horse's neck for a moment, brushing and dancing a few times, and then flew out as the horse galloped, the woman actually grabbing the horse's reins for a moment.
More than a dozen riders seemed to kidnap the woman away, rushing a long distance in the blink of an eye. The woman's figure looked as if she had been knocked out by the horse, flying towards the Wu Lie Army personal guard on a horse on the side. The man swung his saber, and the two figures melted together, falling to the ground. Then, only the woman in black stood up. The sword blade was dripping with blood, and the knight she had grabbed had become a corpse.
Another corpse had already fallen on the road behind. It was the knight who had initially driven the horse into the woman. When the woman grabbed the reins and flew in the air, she swung two swords, one cutting his throat and the other cutting his chest.
Two riderless horses galloped towards the head of the long street. The remaining ten or so riders surrounded the woman, their sabers drawn, their murderous intent awe-inspiring. The woman stood there, looking towards Song Xian, who was now at the street corner in the distance.
Song Xian was covered in injuries, large and small, but he still maintained his combat power and had not suffered any serious or fatal injuries, but he looked miserable. He held his long saber, his hands open, covered in blood.
"In the end, I still won, Lu Hongti." He laughed. "Jianghu? You martial artists will never understand how narrow-minded you are. You have some cleverness and think you have everything planned? I didn't know you wanted to kill me?... While you were racking your brains to get the people around me out of the way, I don't know how many people behind me were planning and preparing to plot against you in return..."
He paused, and raised his head. "This is the real power!"
