Hu Die Lan
Chapter 741 Blue River Suicide Squad
The people from Blue Brook Guild, Samsara, and Endless Land were in a difficult spot. Continuing to fight seemed pointless; the two great gods clearly considered this Boss as good as theirs. But withdrawing without a clear reason was embarrassing! Even if they explained that they encountered two great gods, fleeing at the first sign of trouble was too demoralizing. If word got out, it could easily be twisted into one team fearing another, which was unacceptable.
So, despite their hesitation, these three guilds had to remain. Even if they knew it was hopeless, they had to go through the motions. Club guilds also had their own difficulties!
Looking at Tyrannical Ambition and the alliance, the atmosphere was tense, yet no one moved. However, messages flew across their team channels. Ye Xiu and Zhang Xinjie were both giving orders. But in terms of instruction delivery, Tyranny had a clear advantage. Zhang Xinjie could use the guild channel to directly command everyone present.
Ye Xiu had it tougher. With four guilds and separate teams, he had to issue instructions in the QQ discussion group first, then have the guild leaders relay them to their respective teams.
Tyrannical Ambition moved first.
One group formed a defensive line, like a human wall, to cut off Ye Xiu's group. The other charged straight into the chaotic Boss hunting ground, engaging the three guilds.
Striking first allowed them to seize the initiative. However, it also meant revealing their strategic intentions, while the other side could make a more targeted response. But Zhang Xinjie, one of the four great tacticians, wouldn't overlook this. Tyrannical Ambition acted quickly, clearly not wanting the other side to have time to react. Although they adopted a defensive stance, they didn't intend to passively defend. Instead, they pushed towards Ye Xiu's group, as if to push them out of the area.
A direct charge would play right into their hands. Zhang Xinjie wanted nothing more than for Ye Xiu to directly attack, crashing into their defensive formation. Zhang Xinjie didn't expect to completely block the opponent with this limited force. He just needed time. A level 55 wild Boss would be quickly slaughtered under the suppression of higher levels.
It had to be said that Blue River's initial consideration was the same as Zhang Xinjie's. However, he was overconfident in individual strength, attempting to use Lu Hanwen's prowess to hold off the opponent. But as it turned out, in the face of effective teamwork, even the strongest individual was too insignificant to be considered.
What was happening with Lu Hanwen's Flowing Cloud? Few people were paying attention anymore. Even the rescue team led by Blue River himself, after stumbling upon the clash of these two major forces, sheepishly circled around and went back to fighting the Boss.
"Little Lu, how are you doing?" Blue River could only send a message to let him know he hadn't been forgotten.
"Ye Qiu is indeed difficult to deal with. He not only saw through the flaws in my Sword Shadow Steps, but also used the Knight's forced aggro skill to completely tie me down!!!" Lu Hanwen liked to use exclamation marks in his messages, showing that he was still excited even in this situation.
However, the phrase "tied down" made Blue River sweat profusely. This kid was talking nonsense! What did he think he was?
"Can you hold on?" Blue River asked in a message.
"They don't seem to be planning to spend time dealing with me!" Lu Hanwen replied.
"Yes, there's a strong enemy," Blue River said.
"What strong enemy?" Lu Hanwen asked.
"Zhang Xinjie, the vice-captain of Tyranny," Blue River replied.
"Ah! Zhang Xinjie, the one called a tactical master alongside Captain Ye Qiu and Xiao Shiqin!!!" Lu Hanwen exclaimed.
"It's him."
"I'd like to see him!!!"
"What are you doing right now?" Blue River was puzzled. Lu Hanwen seemed very free, chatting with him so easily.
"There's nothing I can do to them. The key is what they want to do!" Lu Hanwen's tone finally showed some helplessness, as he seemed powerless to deal with the current situation.
"Don't worry, I'll think of a way to save you." Blue River said, leading his rescue team around. With those two great gods there, was there any point in him staying to command the Boss fight? None at all! Blue River thought that if he could command this team to stop those two great gods, he could take over Yu Wenzhou's command in Blue Rain.
The self-aware Blue River had given up on the Boss, though he didn't say it. But he wasn't the type to slack off. If Lu Hanwen hadn't been trapped, he would have led the team in their best effort. But since that was the case, Blue River simply formed a suicide squad to go deep behind enemy lines, leaving the main force for another team leader to command.
The team leader almost peed his pants when he heard this arrangement. If he didn't know that Blue Bridge Spring Snow was a decent guy, he would have suspected that the guy was trying to run away and leave everyone to die. Entrusting him with the responsibility of commanding against teams led by Ye Qiu and Zhang Xinjie was going too far!
"Do your best," Blue River said seriously. "We'll come back after rescuing Little Lu."
After saying that, Blue River led his team away. The two major forces had already clashed, with various skills and characters flying everywhere. The strategies of the two great gods must be brilliant, and Blue River estimated that he wouldn't be able to understand them at a glance. So he simply watched the show. He led the suicide squad around the back of the street, found a place to climb onto a roof, and lay down, crawling to the edge to peek down.
How exhausting!
Lu Hanwen was really struggling now. Ye Xiu and Tyrannical Ambition were in a team battle, so they needed the Knight as a core defensive force. That meant they didn't have time to keep Lu Hanwen tied down. But letting Lu Hanwen go would be like setting fire to their own backyard. They had to kill him off.
With the Knight's aggro skills, Lu Hanwen was having a hard time supporting himself. If it weren't for his high skill, anyone else would have died countless times. But even so, Flowing Cloud's health was critically low.
"Give him status!" Blue River ordered quickly. A Knight and a Qi Master on his team charged out without hesitation.
"Cover!" Blue River shouted again, jumping off the roof first, using a Silver Light Falling Blade to crash down. The players he brought with him all used high-damage skills to fly down from above. The Knight used a Heroic Leap, and the Qi Master used a Qi Flow Descent. Surrounded by Blue River and the others, they crashed down with a bang.
The sudden appearance of these ten people startled the players from the four guilds below. But they were organized into teams. A sudden attack by ten people wasn't worth panicking over, unless those ten were all professional players. But how could that be? Blue Rain's main team wouldn't come out in full force to snatch this level 55 wild Boss, right? It was more believable that they were reminiscing about their level 55 days and happened to pass by!
"Ah! Guild leader!!!" Children had especially good eyesight. Everyone was surprised by the ten attackers, and Lu Hanwen had to be surprised too. But when he looked up, he immediately caught sight of Blue Bridge Spring Snow among the ten. He used a Silver Light Falling Blade, but didn't hurt anyone; the surrounding people scattered.
"Guild leader, your Silver Light was too early!" Lu Hanwen loudly reminded Blue River.
"Stop talking nonsense!" Blue River was a little embarrassed, but he had to admit that he had used the skill too early. But wasn't that to add to the momentum?
"Status!" Blue River shouted again.
"Understood!" The Knight and Qi Master were brought by Blue River specifically to help Lu Hanwen escape. One would have been enough, since the effects of their skills couldn't be stacked. But Blue River brought two for insurance.
Heroic Leap and Qi Flow Descent were both skills with area-of-effect damage. After the players dodged, the two quickly applied their status buffs to Flowing Cloud.
Immovable as a Mountain.
Calm and Collected.
Both skills were used, and at the same time, a Knight from the four guilds roared, gathering the suicide squad together. Except for Flowing Cloud.
With either of those two status buffs, Lu Hanwen's Flowing Cloud couldn't be affected by those types of skills anymore.
"You go first!" Blue River shouted.
"What about you guys!" Lu Hanwen said.
"Come back from the respawn point!" Blue River was telling the truth, indicating that they probably couldn't escape. But he was also reminding Lu Hanwen that this was just a game, and they could try again after dying. He didn't want him to act like in a TV drama and declare that they would live or die together. He was getting too old for that.
"Don't worry, buff me up, and I'll lead you out! Why did you only bring so few people!" Lu Hanwen finally didn't abandon Blue River and the others, but his words were domineering, making Blue River feel ashamed. He had come down with the intention of dying, wasn't he being too negative and lacking fighting spirit?
Reverse Thrust!
Flowing Cloud's sword light began to flicker, clearing the way for the ten. Affected by the roar, the ten pounced on the Knight. Those who could cast spells before reaching the Knight began to cast. The attack hit, and the roared status was gone. But these ten weren't inexperienced. They wouldn't easily let go of the Knight now. Ten people ganging up on one was his own fault. Even if they couldn't kill him, it would greatly increase the pressure on the healers, consuming their skills.
"Go!"
Blue River and the ten were still beating up the Knight when they heard Lu Hanwen shout. Looking back, they were shocked! In such a short time, many people were swaying and staggering in front of Flowing Cloud. How many skills had been used already?
Then, with the Sword Shadow Steps, which Blue River and the others were seeing for the first time, they immediately exclaimed, "Eight shadows?"
Without Ye Xiu, those eight shadows were just eight shadows. Rushing out together, ordinary players couldn't tell which were real and panicked. A Knight was about to use a roar to deal with Lu Hanwen, but the Knight in the suicide squad had already used Knight's Spirit to reset his skills, and added an Immovable as a Mountain to Flowing Cloud. Roar? It was useless. Lu Hanwen's Swordsman forcefully cut a path, and the ten closely followed behind. The Knights who wanted to use aggro skills were suppressed by their methods. There weren't many Knights left on this side anyway.
"They're out! Haha!" Lu Hanwen rushed out quickly, and Blue River was also excited. But at this moment, he received a message from the second team leader: "We can't hold on, the Boss has been snatched away!"
The others weren't slow either...
