Chapter 1374: Chapter 1375: Immortal Gods Descend!
Li Xiaobai roared in anger, his golden war chariot beneath him transforming into a streak of light that shot straight toward the rift. The others followed closely behind, standing in the void, their hands clasped behind their backs as they positioned themselves beside the fissure.
The inside of the rift was pitch black. The red glow seen earlier had vanished, leaving it impossible to discern the situation within.
The long staff in Li Xiaobai’s hand spun as he delivered another powerful strike downward. A terrifying black sword aura shot out, piercing through the heavens and barreling into the rift, where it disappeared without a trace. No sound of impact came back, rendering it impossible to gauge the destination of the sword aura or what lay on the other side of the rift.
“This rift seems to have been forcibly torn open. The surrounding spatial cracks are writhing, as if they are slowly repairing themselves,” Yan Zuzi observed, his keen eye catching the details as he approached.
“Judging by the speed at which the fissure is mending, it looks like it will take about two hours to fully close!”
“In that case, the rift will exist for no more than two hours. Time is running out for the Immortal Gods!”
With this discovery, the group felt an uplift in their spirits. Previously, they hadn’t given much thought to the rift and had never studied it up close. Now, being in proximity, they realized that the opening was healing with each passing moment. Soon, it would shrink until it was fully restored. If they could hold out until then, the invasion from the Immortal Gods Realm would be thwarted!
“They’d never dream that their vanguard would be dealt with so effortlessly by us—without breaking a sweat!”
“Indeed, it’s all thanks to Young Master Li’s unparalleled sword techniques. Without him, it might have turned into a bloody battle after all!”
The group exchanged glances, their excitement palpable.
“Set up the restrictions!”
Intricate Formation patterns materialized in the void, sealing over the massive crack. This was the strongest Formation restriction their Saint Realm cultivation could muster. Although it might not hold against the Immortal Gods for long, it could at least buy some critical moments of time.
As Li Xiaobai observed his companions’ busy movements, there was no hint of relaxation in his expression. His skill could suppress Bronze-level cultivators entirely, not because his cultivation level was incredibly powerful, but due to the fact that the strength of Bronze-level cultivators was suppressed within the limits of the Saint Realm.
However, when it came to the Immortal Gods crossing realms, their powers were far beyond the Saint Realm. Even if their cultivation exceeded the threshold by just a fraction, Li Xiaobai would be helpless. It was an absolute difference in power. Furthermore, everything that had transpired in the Central Origin Realm earlier had been witnessed through the eyes of “Chen.” The Immortal Gods would undoubtedly devise countermeasures. The real fight was only just beginning.
With a thought, without bothering to count the cost, Li Xiaobai used half of the top-tier Immortal Stones in his possession to summon Saint Realm Godzillas. Merging into the void without making a sound, no one noticed as he expended a staggering quadrillion top-tier Immortal Stones.
The entire firmament above was packed densely with Saint Realm-level Godzillas, shoulder to shoulder, almost filling the entire Central Origin Realm. Though they seemed harmonious as they merged with the void, beneath the surface, turbulent undercurrents surged like tidal waves.
On the ground below, the Sword Sect activated its Mountain Protection Array. Various other factions similarly deployed their sects’ Formations, creating a dazzling spectrum of luminescence. The radiance enveloped all the cultivators present, ensuring that they were prepared for what they believed to be the largest-scale war in their world’s history.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
From the heavens above, that familiar sound of footsteps echoed once more.
This time, however, it wasn’t Bronze-armored demonic beasts but true Immortal Gods descending to the mortal realm. The sound of footfalls was solitary, heavy, and oppressive, with each step pounding into the hearts of everyone present.
After a few minutes, the footsteps came to an abrupt halt. A stream of glowing green water shot out from the rift, laden with a potent corrosive aura. It pierced the Formation restriction meticulously laid down by the Saint Realm cultivators, continuing unabated as it burned a massive, bottomless crater into a section of the Central Origin Realm’s mainland.
The stream of water was entirely emerald green, appearing as lustrous and translucent as jade. However, its toxicity was extraordinary. The Formation restrictions might as well have been nonexistent against it, offering no defense at all. At the same time, a long, jade-like leg stepped out of the rift.
The leg was smooth and white, radiant with an almost otherworldly glow that captivated the onlookers. It belonged to a woman wearing an incredibly provocative outfit, one that barely consisted of two scraps of cloth covering her modesty. Her alabaster skin dazzled their eyes.
But atop her neck rested not the head of a beauty but a grotesque spider’s head, covered in barbed spines. The spider-like visage was riddled with countless eyes and oozed an unknown green liquid, presenting a horrifying contrast to her otherwise divine figure.
She was, astonishingly, a spider-woman!
“I didn’t expect the Central Origin Realm to have such powerful individuals, even surpassing the Xueshenzi of old!”
The spider-woman spoke, her delicate hand reaching up to touch her own head, seemingly a bit agitated. “Suppressed as I am, I still can’t fully transform into a human. No matter. This will suffice for the short time it’ll take.”
“Holy shit, it’s a giant spider lady!”
Xiao Lao Di was wide-eyed and pale, his hairs standing on end. In a flash, he distanced himself from the newcomer.
Li Xiaobai and the others were no different. A peculiar tension rose within them. Although her movements were neither particularly fast nor abrupt, she somehow gave them the unsettling impression that she could close the distance in an instant if she so wished.
“So, this is an Immortal God from the Upper Realm?”
“From the looks of her, she’s certainly extraordinary. Appearances can be deceiving!”
The group muttered among themselves, still gawking at this “beauty” in front of them.
“May I ask how the Immortal prefers to be addressed?”
Li Xiaobai tightened his grip on the Sea-Calming Divine Needle, readying the staff, which was already fully activated. He was prepared to strike at the slightest provocation.
“You have quite the tricks up your sleeve. These Saint Realm-level beasts are certainly not something the Central Origin Realm could produce. I’m curious—who is it from the shadows aiding you, continuing to extend a hand even now?”
“But that doesn’t matter. The Central Origin Realm can permit only a single Immortal God to cross realms. Now that I’m here, there’s nothing your benefactor can do. All they can do is watch this realm be destroyed!”
The “beautiful” spider-woman spoke calmly, her gaze scanning the surroundings as though piercing through all illusions. Even though the Saint Realm Godzillas had merged into the void, she saw through them effortlessly at a glance.
“Attack!”
Li Xiaobai felt the chill of her eyes sweep over him, causing his hairs to stand on end. With a swing of his long staff, a golden, raging giant ape appeared, emanating a terrifyingly explosive aura that tore through the sky and stormed toward the “beautiful” spider-woman!
Simultaneously, the surrounding Saint Realm Godzillas unleashed their horrifying Red Lotus Karma Fire, accompanied by chaotic lightning, charging forward. In the blink of an eye, the “beautiful” spider-woman was engulfed. From the sky above, immense gravitational forces descended, aiming to suppress this Upper Realm Immortal God in one decisive strike!
