Grenade Fears Water
Wan Ben Gan Yan
There's no end to what I could say, but it feels wrong not to say anything at all, so I'll just ramble a bit.
First, a bit of business:
1. Card event, the separate lottery post is in the book circle, you can go and see it.
2. Thank you very much for participating in the completed fan fiction event. The list of winners will be announced in the book circle within fifteen days. Again, see the post for details.
3. As usual, the fan fiction texts will be compiled in the appendix and preserved as part of this book. If you don't want to be included, please send a private message to the operations team. Images and other content will be compiled in a centralized post.
4. Some activities will be launched later, such as character birthdays, new SR card pools. Thank you for your participation.
5. There should also be a large number of official completion events at the same time, so please pay attention (full subscriptions get avatars and titles, leaders get pillow gift boxes, don't forget).
6. The manga adaptation of this book is already on the agenda, probably at the end of the year or earlier (I'm so old that I've forgotten the specific information), it will come out, so please pay attention.
Now let's ramble a bit.
First, a routine report on the results... This book is now infinitely close to a 30,000 average subscription. It will reach that soon, but there's no need... Moreover, since it was put on the shelves, the growth curve has been very smooth, basically increasing by 800 to 1,000 average subscriptions every month, including this last half-volume.
In addition, one gold alliance, seven silver alliances, and as of writing this, which is two minutes after the last chapter was released, including the recently rewarded Hong Ya, a total of 230 alliance leaders... I won't put the specific list, it's too exaggerated...
When I wrote *Yingdi* five years ago, who would have thought there would be three pages of alliance leaders?
To compare, *Fu Han* has nearly 600,000 more words in VIP chapters, but the final average subscription was less than 14,000. At the time, I already felt very satisfied... Of course, now *The Filature of the Song* has brought it up to 22,000.
In short, it can be said that the results exceeded my expectations.
To all the legitimate readers, I only have the words "thank you."
Talking about *The Filature of the Song*... This book should actually be viewed in two ways. Lower the standards, and it's just another time-travel historical novel on the web, just trying to make a living. Naturally, everything is fine, and you lose if you take it seriously.
But if you really take it seriously from another perspective, there are definitely many shortcomings.
The first is the hasty start. I really didn't know what subject matter to write before I started the book. It was completely a casual chat with a writer friend, and I randomly came up with something and started writing. I didn't have any drafts or anything. When I wrote the first chapter, I had to look up which circuit Bozhou belonged to in the Great Song Dynasty... I only knew Han Shizhong, Yue Fei, Wu Jie, and knew Wushu and Qin Hui. Most of my impressions were from *The Story of Yue Fei* in the third grade of elementary school... that little yellow book of 100 foreign classics and 100 domestic classics... I didn't even know who Lu Haowen, Zhao Ding, and Zhang Jun were when I wrote about them.
I was basically selling what I was currently learning, reading *History of the Song Dynasty* and *Continuation of Comprehensive Mirror in Aid of Governance*, buying some popular science books and biographies, and searching CNKI for papers when I encountered detailed related questions, and then conceiving the plot according to the Tan Map.
The second is that I abandoned the fancy tricks... What are fancy tricks?
For example, the new and old Yan Books in *Fu Han*, for example, the title poems referring to things in *Fu Han*.
Without fancy tricks, I had to seriously write stories and characters, and try to write large-scale war scenes... This kind of thing can't be said to be superior or inferior, but without a doubt, *The Filature of the Song*'s way of writing is more tiring and more demanding, and by the time I had written half of this book, I basically couldn't hold on anymore.
Completely unable to hold on... both physically and mentally.
This led to the third problem, that is, the update suddenly became completely terrible - visibly, the monthly update volume of less than 150,000 words quickly dropped to 120,000, and finally to 100,000 words per month.
What's there to say about unfavorable web novel updates? It just didn't get massively criticized, but was suppressed by the spiral of silence.
Then there's the fourth thing, the plot started to become dry and empty after the middle stage, and some of the ambitious characters and plots from before finally lost their courage.
To put it bluntly, I didn't know what to write in the early stage, so I wrote whatever I could. In the middle and late stages, I had ideas, but I was already somewhat powerless... It's a bit like "At first, I didn't know what the song meant, but now I'm the one in the song"... of course, from a creative point of view.
But still, as I said today, these can only be said. More importantly, it's to celebrate the completion... Zhao Jiu celebrated his ten years of achievement with an axe, and I also want to celebrate my completion.
The more difficult it is, the more you have to grit your teeth and complete it according to the original plan. Completing it at this time is really a victory.
Through all kinds of difficulties and dangers, this book is completed.
As for the plot... I know what you are thinking, how to recuperate in the future, how to repair the Yellow River, suppress mergers, how to reform the system, how to further stimulate the vitality of maritime trade, how to completely turn the northern Xinjiang into a part of the country, how to launch a westward expedition similar to the Mongol westward expedition when Zhao Jiu is old, taking advantage of the civil strife in Western Liao... To be honest, I have plots and scenes in my mind.
I even thought that the white-haired Zhao Jiu should die on the road of the westward expedition.
But, just like the last book was called *Fu Han*, so it should be completed when Han perished and Yan was established... this book is called *The Filature of the Song*. *Shao* means to guide and lead, and the original intention is to reverse the direction of the country and lead the Chinese nation out of the quagmire of the Song-Jin War, so the book should be officially completed when the Song-Jin War ends.
Don't bite off more than you can chew.
Continuing to write it would not only be a question of whether I could hold on, but it would also be a structural damage to the book.
Looking back now, the structure of this book is actually very simple, it is to resist the Jin, escape - foothold - respite - counterattack - open arms - accumulate strength, and finally punch back, win, and it's done... Therefore, after the final battle is over, the Jin Dynasty is destroyed, Zhao Jiu returns to the Mingdao Palace, swings an axe, and his heart is completely clear, and it should be completed.
It's completed.
In fact, this last axe was the completed scene that I set not long after I started writing. He must chop it down with an axe, so that in addition to winning the Song-Jin War, he can also truly win a victory, a victory that belongs to him alone.
Therefore, we must also celebrate the successful completion of this book.
I have really seen many authors, very serious authors, who write to the end, and the results are very good, but they just can't continue writing... I can understand very well, because long serializations really wear down authors in every way.
But it is finally completed.
Stop beating around the bush and repeating myself... continue to ramble.
A little explanation.
This book actually made a low-level mistake in the Northern Expedition, confusing Daming Prefecture, one city and two counties - Yuancheng + Daming, and mistakenly dividing them into two cities.
This is a low-level mistake, and I must apologize to everyone.
Of course, it does not affect the plot. In fact, the opposition between Yuancheng and the small city on the other side is a real existence. The small city on the other side of the river where hot air balloons rise is real, and it should be the old city, just the name is wrong.
Then, thank you to Chief Editor Ruili for his continued concern for this book, and also thank you to Xuxu and Huya, and editors Shuize and Liuxing for their help. Thank you to all the managers of this book for their hard work in maintaining the operation of this book... From An Zong to Xiaoxiao, from Qisui to Hanmen, from 196 to Xiaoyu, from Vera to Dengren... There is really no way to list them all, listing them all would be too much.
Of course, I must especially thank all the enthusiastic readers for their promotion, subscription, and rewards for this book. More than two hundred alliance leaders, 15,000 follow-up subscriptions, 30,000 average subscriptions, and 60,000 high subscriptions, behind every data is a living reader. I can only thank everyone for their long-term support. Of course, I especially want to thank the countless chapter comments in each chapter, you are one of the creators of this book, and also thank Xiaoyu and Big Nose... I won't thank CCTV and the author's backstage.
New book... there should be a new book, otherwise I will probably starve to death... But this time I really want to take a good rest, take good care of my body, and also make some preparations for the new book. I hope that the next book will not have the same sense of haste as this book... In short, I will rest for a long time.
As for what content to write... I really haven't thought about it... After *Fu Han*, I personally had an idea for a historical trilogy, but... I really don't know whether I should continue to write history directly, or try another subject matter and then come back.
As I said, let's rest and see.
Sincerely,
I wish you all a happy completion!
Pour water on the flat ground, each flows east, west, north, and south.
Life also has fate, how can one sigh and sit in sorrow?
Open a bottle of happy fat man water, iced... I hope to see you all again in the martial world one day.
