416: Chapter 405: A Chance Meeting with Wu Xin 416: Chapter 405: A Chance Meeting with Wu Xin “But this little girl seemed oblivious to the implications, yelling at Xiao Qing, Li Yueyue, and Liu Ran, ‘Hey third sister-in-law, fourth sister-in-law, and little sister-in-law!'”
Well, that really got everyone’s attention.
Song Yun could already feel the murderous glances from the women around him, cursing internally that he definitely hadn’t told Song Yuxue to call them that.
Li Shishi and Qingluan were still okay, but Liu Ran was extremely shy at this moment, her face so red it looked like it might drip water, her eyes darting around as she glanced at Song Yun.
Compared to Liu Ran, Li Yueyue seemed quite domineering, draping her arm over Song Yuxue’s shoulder and chuckling, “So you’re Yuxue, huh?
I’m definitely not your sister-in-law.
Where are all those sisters-in-law of yours anyway?”
“Just because they’re not now doesn’t mean they won’t be in the future,” Song Yuxue said with a light smile.
Song Yun knew he couldn’t let Song Yuxue keep talking like this.
“Mao Shanluozi, we’re going to eat in a bit.
Do you guys want to join?”
“No thanks, boss.
Luo Zi and I are heading home,” Mao Shan wasn’t foolish.
He clearly knew Song Yun was trying to use him as a shield.
With a laugh, he thought, if he really went to dinner, whatever tricks those women might play on Luo Zi could spell the end of his fun.
“Oh, well, if that’s the case, never mind then,” Song Yun sighed.
It’s getting hard to trick anyone these days, he thought.
“Ladies, let’s stop dilly-dallying and decide where to eat!
Oh right, where’s Aunt Lin?
Haven’t seen her around.”
“Aunt Lin said she’s completed her task and has gone back first,” Li Shishi said.
“Ah, Aunt Lin left already?” The girl said reluctantly, “Alright then, let’s just go eat.”
“Mao Shan, are you really not coming?” Song Yun asked, not giving up yet.
“No, no, I’m too tired today.
I’ll treat you another day.
Boss, you’ve had a long day too.
Finish eating and get some rest.
Luo Zi and I will be on our way.
We’ll catch up some other time.”
After saying that, Mao Shan quickly dragged Luo Zi away, leaving Song Yun watching as Mao Shan beat a hasty retreat.
“Let’s go, ladies, time to eat.”
Song Yuxue was in Song Yun’s car.
Because she was close in age to Li Yueyue and Liu Ran, the two girls chatted continuously all the way, even Liu Ran occasionally chimed in.
When they arrived at a private restaurant and had just parked the car to go in, they spotted Wu Xin and another woman at the entrance from afar.
“Damn, what are the odds,” Song Yun thought, marveling at how small the world seemed.
He hadn’t seen this boss lady in a long time.
Remembering the last encounter and the itching in his palm from her scratching made him chuckle.
Turning her head and seeing Song Yun’s weary look, then following his gaze to Wu Xin, Song Yuxue figured she pretty much knew what was up.
“Brother, that beautiful lady isn’t one of the sister-in-laws you found for me, right?” Song Yuxue whispered, fearing the other ladies would hear.
“That doesn’t count,” Song Yun said with a mournful expression.
“I get it,” the girl gave Song Yun a knowing look.
By the time they reached the door, it was too late.
As Xiao Qing greeted Wu Xin and they nodded to each other, Song Yun felt that if he met Wu Xin, with Li Shishi’s sharp wits, she would surely suspect something.
“Why are you hiding behind me, brother?” Song Yuxue pouted.
“Isn’t this when you should step forward and smooth things over?”
“Haha,” Song Yun chuckled dryly, “Don’t think Li Shishi and the others are that easy to talk to.
If they really take it seriously with you, it could get messy.”
“Oh, so you’re still afraid of Sister Shishi,” the girl giggled, covering her mouth.
“Okay, okay, Sister Shishi and the others have gone inside already, and it looks like they’re not fighting.”
“That’s good.”
Walking up, Song Yun touched his nose and smiled, “What a coincidence running into you here.”
“Just now I was wondering why I saw them but not you.
Oh, and who is this young lady?” Wu Xin asked, looking at Song Yuxue beside Song Yun.
“This is my sister, Song Yuxue.
Yuxue, this is Wu Xin, a big boss,” Song Yun said with a smile.
“Are you here to eat?”
“Yeah, what else would I come to a restaurant for, to bathe?” Wu Xin replied grumpily.
“Song Yun, you don’t need to avoid me like that.
It’s not like I’m a wolf who could eat you.”
“Of course not.
I’ve just been busy and haven’t had time.
I’ll definitely come by when I’m free,” Song Yun said, grinning goofily as he and Song Yuxue entered the restaurant.
“Brother, this seems fishy.”
“There’s nothing fishy!”
“Oh, but aren’t we inviting that lady to join us for dinner?”
“Better not.
If we invite her, we probably won’t get to eat,” Song Yun sighed.
After searching for a while, Song Yun and Song Yuxue found Li Shishi and the others.
Sitting across from Li Shishi, Song Yun smiled, “Have you guys ordered yet?”
“No, we were waiting for you,” the other side said with a smile, though their toes slyly kicked Song Yun hard under the table, as if they knew something.
Enduring the pain in his shin, Song Yun squeezed out a smile, “You go ahead and order, I need to use the restroom.”
Damn it, having too many women around really isn’t easy, he thought.
Li Shishi might claim she wasn’t jealous, but clearly, she cared a bit.
That couldn’t be helped.
Since things had come to this, a few kicks didn’t matter much.
After wandering around the bathroom for a bit, Song Yun returned to find Song Yuxue and Li Shishi’s seats had switched.
“Damn sister,” he thought, “you just got here and you’re already setting me up.
If this little witch sits next to me, how am I supposed to live?”
“Come on, let’s eat,” Song Yun said, picking up his chopsticks.
“Yuxue, why don’t you sleep in my room tonight?
I’ll have someone clean up the other rooms tomorrow.”
“No need.
Yuxue can sleep with me tonight,” Li Yueyue said with a grin.
“Yeah, or she can sleep with me if that doesn’t work out,” Xiao Qing added.
“Last time you slept on the sofa, you caught a cold.
We can’t let that happen again.”
“Well then, Yuxue, you can sleep with whoever you want to tonight,” Song Yun said with a nod.
The dinner came alive with laughter, especially with Li Yueyue’s mischievous cheerleading.
With Yuxue smiling throughout the meal, Song Yun, as her brother, felt it was only natural to be happy, too.
