Chapter 248-3: Extraordinary Tactics Strike Again, Forging a Transcendent Weapon (Part 3)

“Perhaps you need a set of sturdy armor? Or a sharp dragon-slaying sword?” Anakin’s expression was visibly excited.

“Whatever you need, I can forge it for you, of course, except for divine artifacts!”

Li De looked at the excited Anakin with a slightly strange expression. These guys, when they first arrived in Dawn City, they acted like they would rather die than submit. And yet now, it seemed that the ‘fragrance of true delight’ law was indeed a universal truth, inescapable even across the multiverse.

After pondering for a moment, he shook his head.

Right now, everyone had a need for mithril equipment.

Betty, Grote, Stanley, Emi, and even Kosso and Castro, who had just had their equipment forged, as well as the Level 18 bone dragon, whose bones were as hard as transcendent-grade shields.

In any case, good gear was in short supply.

But as for those in more urgent need, the three spellcasters were excluded first.

Emi and Stanley rarely engaged in melee combat, so transcendent gear wouldn't boost them nearly as much as it would a warrior.

Next was the spell-type unit: the bone dragon. Although its melee capabilities were top-tier, it was still technically a spellcaster.

At the moment, they could afford to ignore that one. Thanks to Witherbone’s limitless reinforcement, the bone dragon’s body might already be harder than transcendent shields, there was no need to equip armor weaker than its own body.

That left the melee units: Betty, Grote, and Kosso, along with Castro.

Kosso’s equipment had just been infused with faith energy and wouldn’t need major upgrades for the time being, so he could be excluded.

Among the remaining three top-tier combatants, Li De was just about to speak when he suddenly seemed to remember something and turned to look at Anakin.

“Didn’t Grandmaster Valen once say that mithril could be reforged onto already-formed armor to etch certain alchemical arrays that would make the armor stronger?”

“Yes, but doing that requires extremely advanced craftsmanship and deep familiarity with the specific alchemical array.”

Anakin nodded, confirming Li De’s words.

“Good. Send word for Grandmaster Valen to return, and notify Castro to come back as well.”

Li De nodded with excitement.

He had seen firsthand the power of the steel behemoth in Dwarven Valley. Without Kosso and Castro working together, he wouldn’t have been able to wipe out tens of thousands of beastmen troops with just the vampires’ spellcasters.

These large units played a far more critical role in warfare than normal-sized ones.

With a single dive, Castro could obliterate an entire street and kill hundreds of people, something that even a powerful valkyrie like Betty couldn’t do in under three to five minutes.

That was the advantage of sheer size.

Moreover, Castro’s armor hadn’t yet been infused with faith energy. There was still huge room for improvement.

Now that Li De had his sights set on the alchemical bombs of Risel City, it was entirely possible that he might take certain actions. To prepare for any eventuality, it was necessary to further elevate his cutting-edge forces.

And enhancing Castro, who possessed tremendous aerial mobility, to become an even sharper weapon was undoubtedly a top-priority move.

Seeing the slightly disappointed look in Anakin’s eyes, Li De gave a faint smile.

“I believe 50 pounds of mithril will be enough. Use the remaining 30 pounds to forge two suits of armor and one greatsword. I’ll have someone consult Grote and Betty on the specific dimensions and specifications and pass them to you.”

Anakin’s heart soared. He was being allowed to use 30 pounds of mithril??!!

Their former Dwarven Valley couldn’t produce that much mithril in an entire year. Praise the God of Forging! Praise Lord Kachar!

“If that’s not enough, you can wait a bit. In half a month, I can get you another 50 pounds.”

Li De added casually. After all, he had seized Dwarven Valley precisely to forge armor and weapons for his troops to enhance their combat power. What would he hoard the mithril for? He wasn’t a dragon obsessed with wealth.

Transforming resources into combat power was the key.

Currently, the mithril vein was producing a little over 2 pounds per day, over 30 pounds in half a month, enough for Anakin to forge two suits of armor.

“Thank you, Lord Kachar! Thank you for your generosity and kindness!” Anakin’s grin almost split his face.

Fifty pounds of mithril!! That was an unimaginably large amount, enough to make any being covet it.

“I will use the dwarves’ finest alchemical formulas to forge the strongest steel. I will never waste a single ounce of this precious mithril.”

Mithril could only serve as an auxiliary metal, not the main one. It had to be combined with steel during the forging process.

Weapons forged from pure mithril were extremely soft and couldn’t be compared with regular metals at all.

But once mithril was alloyed with other metals, its performance would skyrocket exponentially.

A normal iron sword with sharpness rated at 10, once infused with a little mithril, could reach sharpness levels of 30 or 40. That was why mithril was so valuable.

The properties of this magical metal were simply too powerful.

“Excellent. Whatever materials you need, apply directly to City Hall. I’ll instruct them to cooperate with you unconditionally.”

Li De nodded with satisfaction.

This comrade had admirable commitment. Anyone willing to contribute so wholeheartedly to the people of Dawn City was worth cultivating. He had high hopes for Anakin.

After several orders were issued, the relevant departments immediately got to work.

The Intelligence Department transmitted the messages. A few sun-hours later, the orders were delivered to Green City via vampire channels. Googlᴇ search novel{f}

Upon receiving the information, the Crimson Mage Tower began deploying personnel to gather everything they could related to three keywords: goblins, Risel City, and alchemical bombs.

The Dark Pact once again issued a large number of missions under the pretense of resisting the beastmen, with Risel City, currently besieged by the main beastmen forces, being the top priority.

If one were to cross-reference the keywords between these tasks, they would find two recurring terms: goblins and alchemical bombs. In fact, a third term had even emerged, Underground World.

Among the bounty missions, the most lucrative was for locating a goblin tribe. Next was acquiring the method for crafting alchemical bombs. The eye-popping reward of 2,000 Gold Pucks stirred the blood of many mercenaries who lived on the edge.

Last time, that mysterious individual had posted a mission to explore the Barren Plains, allowing quite a few mercenaries to make a small fortune. Now that they saw a mission of similar style appear again, it immediately spurred them into action. Weapons sharpened, they prepared to set off.

As for the war currently underway? To hell with it, what war could be more important than making money?

Meanwhile, Betty and Grote submitted their equipment requirements and basic body measurements to the forge. The dwarven prince Anakin was enthusiastically designing customized armor and weapons for both of them.

Grandmaster Valen and Castro, having received their summons, rushed back to Dawn City overnight.
