Chapter 1509: Chapter 1509: This Kind of Talent
Gavin Graves said, “The dog is already dead.”
Cherry buried her head, “Wah wah wah… It’s still so scary…”
Gavin held back his temper and instructed the bodyguard to throw the dog’s corpse far away, then carried the woman in his arms into the room and sat down on the sofa.
“Get down.” His tone was particularly weak, “The dog is gone now.”
“Wah wah wah…”
She still clung tightly to him, like a leech.
Gavin was silent, then after a moment, he tried a different approach, “That dog earlier seemed to have bitten me, it hurts a bit…”
Cherry hurriedly let go of her hands and feet, her face full of panic, “Where did it bite you? Quickly take off your clothes and let me see!”
Gavin hesitated a bit.
Cherry couldn’t wait any longer and went straight for the buttons on his shirt—
Then, Lester Williams came in quickly holding a rabbit, “I found the rabbit! Sir, the rabbit is…”
He froze, staring in astonishment at Cherry, and his tone took a sharp turn, “…Ma’am?”
What’s going on?
Lester glanced at Gavin’s disheveled clothes and thought to himself: Are they reconciled?
Cherry ignored him, anxiously stripped Gavin’s clothes, saw the scratch marks on his back, and burst into tears, “He really got bitten by a dog!”
Gavin: “…”
Lester: “…”
“Why are you standing there?!” Cherry cried and yelled at Lester, “Go call the doctor!”
Gavin indeed got injured. Apart from the red scratch marks from the dog’s claws on his back, there was also a bite mark on his waist.
The moment the dog opened its bloody mouth, it was entangled by a shadow of a snake. It seemed like it didn’t bite Gavin, but in reality, another dog head on the left side had already opened its mouth and bitten him. Luckily, it didn’t have time to clenched its jaws tightly before rolling off Gavin’s back, so the bite mark wasn’t severe.
The doctor carefully disinfected, applied medication, bandaged, and then gave Gavin a rabies vaccine.
Gavin was quite surprised how there was a rabies vaccine on the ship. When he asked, he found out that the vaccine was provided by the seller of the dog. The person knew that the three-headed dog was aggressive and could easily injure people, so he specially brought a batch of vaccines on board just in case.
Gavin very unfortunately became that “just in case”.
After the shot, Gavin lay on the bed to rest, and Cherry stayed beside him with tearful eyes, “Gavin, are you going to die?”
Gavin: “…”
After a long silence, he asked her, “Do you want me to die?”
“Of course not.” Cherry held his hand, “Being a ghost is boring, and you could still get bitten by dogs.”
So if being a ghost was interesting and you wouldn’t get bitten by dogs, me dying wouldn’t matter, right?
Gavin’s mouth twitched, “Can you be quiet for a little while and not annoy me, alright?”
Cherry closed her mouth, seeming well-behaved, holding Gavin’s hand and leaning against him.
Her mouth was silent, but her actions weren’t. She would occasionally touch his eyebrows, play with his hair, compare their palm sizes, or get particularly close to blow at the hairs on his arm…
Finally, even Lester couldn’t stand it anymore and couldn’t help but speak, “Ma’am, maybe you should go back for now, the doctor advised him to get some sleep after the shot.”
Cherry was unwilling, “But I want to stay here with him.”
Lester thought: The problem is, with you here, sir doesn’t even dare to close his eyes!
Gavin was really on edge, always feeling that Cherry could pull a surprise at any moment, catching him off guard.
“Ma’am, you’ll distract him if you stay.” Lester spoke with some tact.
Cherry’s face immediately fell.
When her face fell, everyone held their breath, fearing she would cause a scene.
This time Cherry was surprisingly quiet, though with a reluctant and lost expression, she got off the bed, put on her shoes, and her eyes still looked wet.
Seeing her like this, Gavin’s heart ached a bit.
She always had this ability: effortlessly making him rage, then effortlessly tugging at his heartstrings.
“Gavin, I’ll come see you again once you’ve rested.” Cherry waved her little hand, bidding him goodbye.
Gavin watched her leave, with only a long sigh in his heart!
