Chapter 1 The Agreement

The appointed day arrived at the Volsei Empire's imperial palace.

Leisad and Adolf, along with Afra, the divine-level powerhouses from the two great empires, were all present.

Also there were three princes of the Volsei Empire—or rather, two princes, as the Third Prince, Lasein, had been deposed.

The crowd looked at Lasein with a mix of pity and sorrow. He was bound and kneeling in the center, his expression miserable.

Leisad and Adolf wanted to seek peace, and naturally had to show some sincerity.

The Volsei Empire's conflict with Chen Luo had deepened, and Lasein was largely to blame.

Even if Lasein hadn't completely lost his mind, his sacrifice was necessary for the greater good.

Lasein knelt blankly, staring at the ground, completely dazed, devoid of his usual arrogance.

He never imagined he would end up like this.

In just half a year, he had become a shadow of his former self.

Afra coldly said, "Is time reversal really so invincible? I think we can fight it. There are so many of us; how many times can he reverse time?"

Leisad looked up at the sky and sighed. "Even a Time God, your grandfather and I could face without fear. If he dared to reverse time on us, there would be a process—a process long enough for us to kill him."

"But he's also a Space God."

Adolf gnashed his teeth in anger. "How can anyone have such a broken ability like Void Walk?"

At noon, Chen Luo arrived, his gaze sweeping over the scene until he spotted the conspicuous Lasein.

Chen Luo feigned surprise. "What happened here? Why is the dignified Third Prince of the Empire kneeling on the ground?"

Hearing Chen Luo's voice, Lasein looked up at him, tears streaming down his face.

Meeting Chen Luo was a lifelong mistake.

He shouldn't hold such resentment.

Chen Luo clicked his tongue. "How pitiful."

Lasein cried even louder, weeping with grief.

Leisad flew up, smiling kindly. "Chen Luo, our hatred all started because of Violet. Now that Violet is dead, I know it's not enough. Lasein is yours to deal with; you can kill him any way you want."

Chen Luo smiled, pointing at Leisad. "That's ruthless."

Then Chen Luo's expression changed. "Is that really enough?"

Leisad smiled faintly. "Or, is there anyone else you want to die? Anything is possible."

Anyone else he wanted to die?

Chen Luo joked, "I want you to die."

Leisad was stunned for a moment, then smiled calmly. "Of course, if you wish, I will die today."

Chen Luo was taken aback. "So, you know that if the so-called secret doesn't satisfy me, you will definitely die today."

"I don't have time to waste with you. Tell me about this so-called secret that means if I don't reconcile, there will be no winners."

Leisad nodded. "Follow me."

Leisad led Chen Luo to an oasis near the imperial capital, a patch of green with a beautiful lake at its center.

In the sky, Leisad's palm emitted a brilliant light, covering the entire oasis.

Leisad was like a sun, radiating terrifying heat.

Under Leisad's control, the entire oasis quickly turned into a yellow desert.

Leisad smiled. "Do you see? I caused this desert, didn't I?"

Chen Luo was beginning to understand what Leisad was getting at.

The original residents of the oasis had been relocated by Leisad. They didn't understand why, but they didn't dare disobey. As the oasis turned into a desert, they stared in shock, then burst into tears.

How could their beautiful home become like this?

Leisad said calmly, "I caused this desert, but who is being punished?"

"If we are all on this planet, and this planet is full of pollution, and we cannot leave, then disasters such as pollution, radiation, gales, sandstorms, and tsunamis will follow."

"Not only will the culprits who caused the pollution be punished, but everyone will be implicated."

"In the face of nature, nature does not distinguish who caused the pollution; everyone will suffer the consequences."

"Just like your hometown, even though Aubun was the one who caused it, why did everyone else suffer?"

Chen Luo said in a low voice, "What are you trying to say?"

Leisad said, "The natural retribution of a planet is a joke, even to an Imperial-level expert. But if the scale of destruction expands infinitely, affecting the entire universe, then what kind of existence will come out to punish us?"

Chen Luo said, "You mean the origin of the laws, right?"

Leisad smiled. "Chen Luo, you are really smart. You guessed it so quickly. That's right, it is the origin of the laws."

"In the face of nature, it retaliates against everyone. It doesn't care about right or wrong. Even if you spend your whole life protecting nature, you will still suffer the consequences. It's very unfair, isn't it?"

"The origin of the laws is the same. It doesn't care about reason or fairness. If there is destruction, everyone will be punished."

"This is the reason why large-scale wars never occur between the two great empires. The destruction during the battle is not so terrible. What is terrifying is that if anyone loses and becomes desperate, they will choose to perish together."

Leisad smiled kindly. "Yes, you must guarantee that you and the God of Fate will never attack the two great empires again."
