Chapter 1089 - Capítulo 1089: Shooting Star

Capítulo 1089: Shooting Star

“I need help!”

Straga appeared in the living room with his sister bundled in his arms.

When Monica saw her husband covered in wounds, she nearly had a mental breakdown.

“Darling, what’s happening?! First, your parents left and then all of you and-”

“I-I’ll explain later, but for right now Courtney needs attention!”

Aj rushed to his side to take her, but Sei got to her first.

“Let me take a look at her first; you can’t help her.”

Sei’s words were not intended to be demeaning, but they had landed with Aj like a ton of bricks.

The grandmother delicately took the sleeping girl into her arms and carried her to the farthest corner of the room, on a section of the sofa that was not turning into charred debris. Straga followed in her wake.

“Honey, I need you to tell me exactly what happened to your sister.”

Straga rubbed the back of his head anxiously. “A-A full-scale battle broke out. Dad and those angel things attacked each other at once, and the blast kind of… nuked heaven.”

Ordinarily, everyone would have been shocked at such a statement, but given everything else that had happened already today, Heaven exploding was the most predictable thing yet.

“I-i didn’t see it, but apparently she put everyone in bubbles before the blast went off and protected them from going splat.”

Sei believed she was already so numb that nothing could shock her for the rest of the day, but she was already having to take her words back.

“Dumb kid..” She was baffled.

“What’s going on…? What’s happening to her?” Shin questioned.

Sei pulled a magic scroll out of her breast pocket and held the paper over her face. “In human terms, she did something extremely athletic without proper training or know-how and sprained her muscles. The only difference being that she sprained her brain instead of her muscles, and gave herself a small aneurysm.”

“An aneurysm!?”

“A small one!” Sei insisted.

The paper glowed with a blue light that entered Courtney’s mind.

After a few seconds, she woke up coughing with her eyes rolling around awkwardly in her head.

“M-M-Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell…”

Sei patted her on the cheek affectionately. “Yes, it is, my doll. Sleep now.”

Courtney’s eyelids became heavy once again.

Her head slumped over into her grandmother’s breast, with her chest steadily rising and falling.

“Is she… okay?”

“She will be.” Sei sighed. “She just needs to rest somewhere safe, secure, and quiet.”

The witch looked around the room and grimaced. “And… right now I don’t believe that place is here.”

Asmodeus stepped over to the group and took Courtney.

“I’ll take her. I can put her in my personal realm with the rest of the kids.”

Asmodeus vanished from the room, carrying his granddaughter with him, and the room immediately became focused on Straga once again.

“Nephew, where’s your dad? Your mothers??”

Straga swallowed. “T-The fight was still going when I left, but we had the upper hand. Everyone’s currently falling between the realms but Dad was still under attack by those angel things.”

Kanami didn’t need to hear anything else.

“I’m assuming command.” Kanami turned to the family. “Everyone capable, pick up a weapon and follow me into-”

*Thud, thud, thud!*

Everyone in the room froze and slowly turned to the barrier holding their prisoner.

Kanami and the others felt their bodies tense up all at once. Sei was the only one who remained slightly confident.

“It’s alright, everyone! He can make as much of a fuss as he likes, but he’s not getting out of there. It takes more than huffing and puffing to bring my magic down.”

“Better hope that’s true, lassie.. Otherwise, I don’t know if I’ll be able to control myself.” Tears streamed from Darius’ bloodshot eyes.

All of his teeth were sharpened to a point and ground against each other like metal blades.

“Be silent! You will not kill my brother!” Behemoth yelled.

“He’s not your brother anymore, lass! He’s just that great big demonic twat, and he’s the reason Eris isn’t here right now!”

“You don’t know that!”

“It’s obvious, you’re a fool for denying it! I don’t care what you see, the only thing left of your brother is his shell!”

“That’s enough!” Helios finally interjected too late.

Irritated, Behemoth lashed out and clobbered Darius clean across the jaw.

“Both of you, stop it!” Kanami got between the two.

“Oh, I disagree.”

The family’s blood suddenly ran cold.

They turned and looked towards the barrier where Percival was housed.

Floating in front of it were two very familiar spirits whom the family never expected to see.

“I think the two of you should keep going. It should make everything we have to do much easier.”

“… We’re sorry for this. I’m afraid the boy isn’t giving us much of a choice.”

Darius wiped the blood from his lip as he smiled at Michael and Lucifer.

“You lads have no idea just how thrilled I am to see you. I was desperately in need of something to hit..!”

The Ophanim were in perhaps the worst condition they had ever been in.

Cracks ran along every visible surface of their stone bodies. A humming golden energy seemed to pour out from within them, unstable and profoundly transcendent.

The explosion had taken out all of Heaven and big chunks of their bodies along with it.

They were designed for self-repair, of course, but with Abaddon so fiercely on the assault, they couldn’t slow down long enough to piece themselves back together.

Instead, the Ophanim had put even more of their effort into an assault to hopefully finish off Abbaddon quickly.

The four of them were all unquestionably large. Abaddon, in particular, was big enough to fit an entire planet on the bed of his fingernail.

He wrapped his black coils around the bodies of the Ophanim, keeping them in close proximity and unable to move around freely.

With their bodies restrained, he kept his heads just out of the reach of his enemies and continued to breathe waves of flaming thunder upon them.

The Ophanim traditionally had no physical responses to pain, but judging by the uncomfortable way they thrashed about, the flames clearly made them uncomfortable.

With their swords brandished, the Ophanim stretched their bodies and attacked Abaddon’s heads.

They stabbed him through the roof of his open mouth, or attempted to cut off his heads.

It took all of their strength to hack through his toughened flesh. But Abaddon was not the sort of enemy who would just lie down and accept defeat.

His heads regrew each time that they were severed. Every one of them continued the relentless assault without pause.

Just as it seemed the battle was coming to a stalemate, Abaddon saw a trio of bright lights plummeting from above him.

Like a meteor, Seras smashed into the Ophanim’s swords and broke them with tremendous effort. Coming in immediately behind her was Bekka, who transformed into a large black dog with dragonic wings and features.

A black pool appeared beside Abadodn and the battling Ophanim. Bekka roared, and it expanded until it was large enough to fit all of them inside.

“Valerie!”

Finally, Valerie let out a roar of her own, and a set of ethereal arms appeared on her body.

She used them to rip away the Ophanim from her husband and tossed them inside of Bekka’s infinite void.

The stone angels fought like hell not to be bound, but Abaddon helped to shove them inside, uncaring of what they wanted.

As soon as the Ophanim were inside, Bekka shut her portal.

“They won’t stay inside that forever! We’ve got about thirty minutes give or take before they start cutting their way out, and-”

“It’s not enough… IT’S NOT ENOUGHHHH!!!”

Abaddon roared so loudly that the sound ripped the fabric of the universe once again.

Without even sparing his wives a second glance, Abaddon flew towards the smell of another battle.

Seras, who was also stained with her own blood frenzy, followed him without a single thought.

Bekka looked like she was going to do the same when Valerie suddenly got in her way.

“Wait for just a second..! Don’t encourage those two, we have to get everything under control before Abaddon and Seras do major damage to the universe!”

For the first time ever, Bekka didn’t care about anything her wife had to say.

That was the moment Valerie noticed her wife’s eyes were pitch black and tearful.

“What does it matter if he destroys everything!? Maybe it should all be gone! I’m sick of reality, I’m sick of everything!

We’ve given our everything to preserve Yesh and Asherah’s shitty realities and what did it get us in return!?

A demon who plays games in our home, where our children stay!? T-The loss of the best of us!? I’m tired! I’m angry! And all I want is to-”

“Reality doesn’t have anything to do with this, Bekka! It’s innocent! We can’t take our grief out on everything because Eris is gone; it’s not what she would want! We have to preserve everything she loved and honor her memory!”

Bekka didn’t look swayed by Valerie’s words. She was too broken inside to consider any perspective beyond her own.

“My love… please move.”

The heartbreak Valerie felt became even more apparent.

“I can’t… Please, I need you to listen to reason and-”

Slowly, Valerie’s words trailed off. A warmth rose in her chest that she didn’t dare to believe in.

She looked to the sky suddenly, and saw what looked like a star falling at the speed of light.

It’s a new month! as always please help me out with as many golden tickets as you can spare it really does help a lot!
