Chapter 1055 Pipe Infiltration
Outside a drainage outlet in St. Paul’s.
Lao Hei ended his call with Jin Maohui and looked at the drainage outlet not far away.
Above the drainage outlet, a surveillance camera was slowly rotating, recording the situation in the vicinity.
"Technical team." Recalling Jin Maohui's instructions, Lao Hei waved his hand, beckoning a dozen technicians forward: "Use 3D technology to cover the camera."
The technicians nodded, exchanged glances, and one of them pointed to himself, then pulled a large metal box from his bag.
"Click!"
The metal box was opened, revealing a very professional circular 3D recorder inside.
The technician took out a folding tripod, set the camera on the ground, and began to adjust the angle, recording the surrounding environment.
This was 3D imaging technology. Using professional equipment, it could capture a fully 3D view.
This technology was usually used on travel websites, allowing users to see 3D views of beautiful scenery online, or on car sales websites, where a single 3D visual photo could provide a 360° view of the entire car's interior.
After about five or six minutes, the surrounding scenery had been captured.
"Okay." The technician turned off the terminal, then took out a device resembling a metal bottle cap from the metal box.
This device was a matching 3D image projector. As long as it was attached to the camera, it would allow the camera to record a pre-recorded image, while also rotating with the lens to change the scenery.
Once everything was ready, the technician made a gesture, and another technician next to him immediately took out a signal jammer and pressed it.
"Zzzzz..."
The camera signal was temporarily cut off. The technician, agile as a monkey, climbed the folding ladder and quickly attached the bottle cap-sized projector to the camera lens.
After finishing, the technician turned around and gave an okay gesture.
...
At the same time, in St. Paul's, at the operations command center, in the monitoring room.
Three police officers sat in front of hundreds of monitoring screens, drinking coffee and watching the cameras.
The images from two of the cameras suddenly went blurry, flickering with white noise.
Although it was only two of them, a sharp-eyed young officer noticed it.
"The cameras in area A12 are having problems!" the officer exclaimed.
"Let me see?" An older officer stepped forward and glanced at the screen.
The image flickered once, then recovered. The older officer gripped the joystick and rotated the camera, finding that everything was normal.
"You're too tense. There's fighting everywhere now. It's normal for the signal to fluctuate," the older officer patted the young officer on the shoulder. "Next time you encounter this, don't panic. Wait a moment, then rotate the lens. Most likely, it'll be fine."
...
Outside a drainage outlet in St. Paul’s.
After replacing the camera, Lao Hei did not rush into action, but waited quietly for five or six minutes.
The surrounding sentries had not been alerted, indicating that the technology had taken effect. Lao Hei relaxed slightly, then waved his hand: "Breaching team, go!"
Two tall and sturdy special forces soldiers stepped forward, carrying portable oxygen-magnesium thermal cutters, aimed at the thick iron bars in front of them, and turned on the machines.
"Zzzzz!"
Red sparks sprayed out. These magnesium thermal reaction cutters were very efficient, quickly burning red lines through the iron bars.
"Clang!"
Five or six minutes later, a rectangular hole large enough for everyone to pass through had been cut in the iron bars. The severed bars fell to the ground, scattered everywhere.
"Night vision!" Lao Hei ordered, and all the team members immediately pulled down the night vision goggles on their helmets.
"You few, go in!" Lao Hei waved his hand, and five advance team members crouched and slipped into the drainage pipe.
The others observed for a moment and gave a thumbs-up to those behind.
"Okay, everyone inside!" Lao Hei said, grabbing his automatic rifle and leading the elite troops into the drainage pipe.
It was wet and smelly inside, with a very unpleasant odor. Lao Hei and his men remained impassive, stepping through the foul-smelling stagnant water and advancing.
When they encountered a camera, they would quickly stop and have the technical team repeat the procedure, using 3D imaging technology to deal with it. Sometimes there was no need to cut off the communications signal. They could simply use a miniature drone to approach the camera and instantly attach the 3D recorder.
After walking a hundred or two meters, a fork in the road suddenly appeared in front of them.
Lao Hei stopped. The drainage pipe was like a small maze, with many forks. This squad was here to clear obstacles, allowing the main force behind them to rush in all at once.
Lao Hei looked at the two forks and said, "According to the plan, we'll split into Squad One and Squad Two. Monkey, you take Squad Two to the left, and I'll take Squad One to the right."
"Okay." Hou Guoyu nodded: "Be careful."
"Don't worry." Lao Hei led a group of people and walked into the right-hand pipe first.
There were more and more forks along the way, and the team continued to split up. Fortunately, they brought a lot of technicians. Everyone followed their respective squads, advancing and solving the camera problems along the way.
"Splash, splash, splash..."
Half an hour later, accompanied by the soft sound of splashing water, Wang Zheng, Da Xiong, and Xiao Jiu, with two other team members, crouched down and moved forward along the pipe.
As they reached a corner, Wang Zheng suddenly saw three patrolling soldiers ahead.
At the same time, a camera was monitoring from a nearby pipe.
Wang Zheng waved his hand, telling Da Xiong and the others to stop, and made a few gestures, meaning that there were three enemies ahead and they needed to lure them over to kill them.
The others nodded, then all pulled out their daggers from behind, ready to go.
Then, Wang Zheng picked up a stone and gently tossed it across the water.
"Splash!"
The stone rolled into the water, creating a splash.
The three patrolling soldiers heard the sound and looked over.
"What was that sound?"
"Not sure, let's go check it out."
With the sound of splashing water, the soldiers released the safety catches and walked towards them.
Wang Zheng leaned against the cold pipe wall, tightly gripping the dagger in his hand, his palm already sweating.
"Pat, pat, pat!"
Each footstep sounded like it was stepping on Wang Zheng's heart.
Soon, the three soldiers reached the corner.
"Thump!"
Da Xiong grabbed one of them by the collar, yanked him over, and stabbed him twice in the chest.
The remaining team members also attacked, eliminating the other soldier.
Wang Zheng also grabbed a soldier, and in a flash of lightning, performed a standard back throw, slamming the soldier into the puddle. Then, gripping his dagger, his wrist trembling slightly, he slashed at the man's throat.
"Thwack!"
Blood spurted out. The soldier's neck had been cut open, but perhaps because Wang Zheng was a little nervous, he didn't use enough force, and the cut wasn't very deep.
The soldier struggled frantically, reaching out to push Wang Zheng's head away. With his other hand, he fumbled at his chest, pulled a grenade from his vest, and pulled the pin, about to detonate it.
Wang Zheng's eyes widened, his breathing rapid.
"Snap!"
Da Xiong appeared at their side, grabbing the soldier's hand, clutching the grenade.
Xiao Jiu also pounced, holding a dagger, his eyes red, and stabbed repeatedly at the soldier's neck!
"Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!"
No one knew how many times he stabbed. Blood had long since stained Xiao Jiu's face red! The soldier's body limply leaned against the wall, no longer breathing.
Wang Zheng also came back to his senses, found the safety pin in the puddle, and with his left hand, gripped his trembling right hand and slowly inserted the safety pin back into the grenade.
After succeeding, Wang Zheng breathed a sigh of relief and sat down in the puddle, gasping for air, his face pale.
With all three soldiers eliminated, the technician was dealing with the camera.
Da Xiong hooked the grenade onto his own gear, then looked at Wang Zheng sitting on the ground and asked, "You haven't killed anyone before, have you?"
Wang Zheng was stunned for a moment, looked up, and said, "Killed… killed before…"
