Chapter 393 Someone Died!
Outside the Baolong Group headquarters building, the piercing sound of sirens rang from all directions. Police cars and riot control vehicles had blocked all entrances and exits, and a sea of police officers and district riot squad members charged toward the main building.
Inside the lobby, Er Mao led his men to the entrance and looked out through the floor-to-ceiling windows, preparing to wait for the authorities to come and arrest them.
Since they were reasonably seeking compensation, they couldn't run after causing trouble, because that would prove they had a guilty conscience, that they knew what they were doing was illegal. So, Er Mao was prepared to go with the police and leave the rest to Su Tianyu. This was something they had agreed upon beforehand.
Outside, a large number of police officers rushed over. Er Mao turned to look at his brothers beside him, ready to say a few words.
"Wait, Er Mao!"
Just then, Su Tiannan rushed over, looking anxious.
"What's wrong?" Er Mao asked.
"...Come, come here!" Su Tiannan waved his hand, his face pale.
Er Mao paused slightly, then walked back to the group with Su Tiannan and asked in a low voice, "What's up?"
"Something went wrong. The guy we beat up at the elevator entrance... is dead," Su Tiannan said quietly.
"Huh?" Er Mao was a little confused. "Dead?!"
"Yeah, I went to check. He's gone." Su Tiannan glanced around. "If he wasn't dead, we could go in, but since he's dead... it's a bit troublesome."
The unexpected still happened.
According to Gou Liuzi's instructions, Er Mao's main role was to orchestrate a sudden incident, break the current deadlock, and then surrender himself to be arrested.
In this way, Gou Liuzi could light the final fuse and push the whole event to a new level.
But the fighting just now was too intense, almost out of control. In that atmosphere, Er Mao and Su Tiannan vented all their anger on the suit-clad man with the gun, accidentally beating him to death.
Now that someone was dead, the nature of the matter immediately changed. Protests could have small-scale riots, even physical altercations, but no one could use the event to kill whomever they wanted, especially since the victim was from the Baolong Group.
Er Mao paused briefly, swallowed, and said, "So, what do we do?"
"Let's go, let's go first. I'll call Liuzi," Su Tiannan pulled Er Mao. "Have your brothers maintain order here."
"Okay." Er Mao nodded, reached out and pulled one of his brothers over, and whispered a few instructions.
Su Tiannan glanced around and noticed that there was hardly anyone in the corridor on the right. He grabbed Er Mao and quickly ran over there.
The two hurried along the right corridor, and after walking about thirty meters, they saw a large number of police officers outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as Baolong Group staff members coming out to meet them.
"Don't, don't go that way. We can't get out." Er Mao tugged at Su Tiannan, glanced back at the situation in the corridor, and casually pushed open a door.
The two stepped into the room and locked the door behind them. Su Tiannan glanced at the window and said, "There are security bars here. We can't get out."
Er Mao looked up at the ceiling and saw a square vent in the corner on the left. He immediately called out, "Come on, move the table over here. We'll go through here!"
Hearing this, Su Tiannan immediately pushed over an office table. The two stood on it and used their body weight to pull the vent cover off. Then, they struggled to climb inside.
The ventilation duct was full of dust and moldy smells. Er Mao covered his nose and crawled in front, while Su Tiannan immediately called Gou Liuzi and told him what had happened.
After listening, Su Tianyu didn't have time to complain or question. He just stood up and asked, "Where are you?!"
"Still in the Baolong Group. The outside is full of riot police and police officers," Su Tiannan replied.
"Is it easy to get out?" Su Tianyu asked.
"We don't know if it's completely blocked off outside. We're in the ventilation duct, haven't gotten out yet."
"Give me your location after you get out," Su Tianyu instructed.
"Okay."
Su Tianyu frowned and hung up the phone. He turned to Zhou Tonghui and the others and said, "Something happened at Baolong. We need to go out for a bit."
"What's wrong?" Zhou Tonghui asked.
"Someone might be dead. Er Mao and Tiannan accidentally killed him," Su Tianyu replied.
"How could they kill someone?" Zhou Tonghui was puzzled. "Isn't that troublesome?"
"There were too many people on the scene. Once they started fighting, it was normal for things to get out of control." Su Tianyu walked out quickly. "Let's go out first and find a way to pick them up."
"What about the workers?" Da Bai asked.
"They're fine." Su Tianyu waved his hand. "The Victory District Police Department will arrest people, but they can't arrest everyone. Tell our people not to resist."
"Okay." Da Bai nodded.
...
About five minutes later.
Er Mao crawled to the end of the ventilation duct in a straight line. He glanced out through the gaps in the duct window and said in a low voice, "This should be Building B of the Baolong Group, next to Changyang Street. Send Tianyu a message, we'll go down from here."
"Okay!"
Su Tiannan responded.
Er Mao licked his lips, grabbed the gaps in the window mesh with both hands, and wiggled it back and forth several times before pushing the window out.
Er Mao lay at the vent opening and looked around. Seeing that there was no one around, he jumped down first.
As soon as the two landed, Su Tiannan, finding the area somewhat familiar, immediately pulled Er Mao and said, "Changyang Street is this way."
"Let's go, let's go!" Er Mao urged.
...
In the car going to the Baolong Group.
Miao Ziwei sat in the back seat, his face gloomy, and asked, "Are all the people blocking the company? Okay, call Liu Changming and tell him, just say I said it, make sure to hold down all the ringleaders, that's it!"
After hanging up the phone, Miao Ziwei loosened his collar, his eyes red with anger.
"Are these two associations crazy?" Xu Jinbo, who was next to him, said, puzzled. "What's the point of making such a scene? It'll only make things more unreasonable!"
"It's hard to judge right now." Miao Ziwei replied with a frown, "But we'll just guarantee one principle: stick close to the regulatory commission, and hit whoever sticks their head out."
Just as Xu Jinbo was about to reply, the phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated. He immediately took out his phone and pressed the answer button, "Hello?"
"Mr. Xu... Mr. Xu, something... something happened to your cousin."
"What's wrong?" Xu Jinbo asked with a frown.
"He... he was beaten to death."
"...!" Xu Jinbo froze.
"Xiao Hu is also in danger, unconscious, just sent to the hospital," the other party added.
...
Near Building B of the Baolong Group, Su Tiannan and Er Mao had just run to the street when three private cars pulled over.
"Beep beep!"
The horn of one of the cars sounded, and the passenger window rolled down. A man looked up and shouted, "The two people in front, squat down! We're from the Police Department!"
Hearing this, the two stopped and glanced at the location of the car out of the corner of their eyes.
