Chapter 48 Desperate Gamble

The Tai Family.

Tai Zhengkang was extremely anxious. He didn't even bother with his walking stick, pacing slowly in the living room. After pondering for a long time, he instructed, "Wen Lai is with Mr. Long. At this critical moment, Gou Liuzi, determined to secure a truck, arrived. He stood at the corner of the wall and fired cold shots at the group.

Gui Mengxiong and Wu Ziliang were shocked. Under the desperate protection of their remaining men, they scrambled into the car and sped away.

Su Tianyu hid behind the corner of the wall, refraining from a reckless chase, and watched them leave.

A sharp braking sound echoed as Lao Hei arrived with his four brothers.

Su Tianyu yanked open the car door and jumped in. "Go, chase them!"

"Why didn't you shoot the car earlier?" one of Lao Hei's brothers asked Su Tianyu.

"There are still people in their yard. If we get bogged down here, their reinforcements will arrive, and we won't be able to kill them easily!" Su Tianyu replied, his mind clear. "Just chase them, the further we drive them, the more they'll be separated from their main force!"

Hearing Su Tianyu's words, Lao Hei immediately said, "Why don't you work with me? We'd be invincible together!"

"Just hurry up and chase them!" Su Tianyu was too lazy to entertain such overtures.

The SUV sped along the road, frantically chasing along the only main road leading into the city.

About three minutes later, the vehicles closed in. Lao Hei was driving, and Gou Liuzi and the others leaned out of the windows, spraying the other vehicle with gunfire.

The rear windshield of the car in front shattered, and shards of glass showered the back seat. Wu Ziliang and Gui Mengxiong cowered, hugging their heads, afraid to move.

The rear trunk door and spare tire were riddled with bullets, hissing with white smoke!

A sharp braking sound rang out, and the car veered off course, crashing into a curb and hitting a telephone pole!

"What happened?!"

"The tire blew out!" the driver shouted in panic. "Can't drive anymore, let's get out!"

"Damn it!" Wu Ziliang cursed, pushed open the door, and darted into an alley.

At the same time.

Gui Mengxiong, holding his phone, followed.

"Pull over, pull over!" Su Tianyu shouted at Lao Hei, raising his gun.

Three more minutes passed, a chase filled with near misses. Su Tianyu, working with Lao Hei, killed one of their men and drove another away. Now, only one follower remained by Wu Ziliang and Gui Mengxiong's side, even the driver had disappeared.

In the dim alley, Su Tianyu chased from behind, yelling, "Lao Hei, grenades, block their retreat!"

The alleys in the suburbs were narrow, filled with trash and debris. Gui Mengxiong and the others stumbled forward, reaching the edge of exhaustion.

"Whoosh!"

Lao Hei, relying on his incredible arm strength, ran behind and threw a grenade forward!

"Boom!!"

The explosion echoed around them. Gui Mengxiong and the others, trying to avoid it, were struck by shrapnel and fell into the piles of debris on either side of the alley.

Su Tianyu rushed forward, ready to capture Gui Mengxiong and Wu Ziliang alive!

Just then, the sound of an engine echoed in the alley. Gui Mengxiong's only reliable teammate, someone from the Tai family, had arrived!

"Screech!"

A seven-seater SUV screeched to a halt at the entrance of the alley. A middle-aged man in a suit, with five other men, rushed into the alley.

"Save me, save me!" Gui Mengxiong shouted.

The middle-aged man entered the alley and met Su Tianyu face to face. Both raised their guns simultaneously!

"Don't move!" the middle-aged man shouted, and the men behind him all raised their arms and guns.

Su Tianyu paused, holding his gun steady, waiting for Lao Hei to come forward and support him. But to his surprise, the middle-aged man didn't retreat or hide, but charged forward menacingly with his gun in hand.

"If you move, I'll shoot you!" Su Tianyu shouted, his gun steady, only seven or eight meters away from the man.

The five men with guns forced Su Tianyu back, waving at Gui Mengxiong and Wu Ziliang from where they stood.

In the dim alley, the middle-aged leader raised his eyebrows and shouted, "You dare to hit me?! Do you know who I am?! I'm from the Military Intelligence Bureau! I'm here on duty with a report, if I lose a single hair, you'll all die!"

With that, the middle-aged man rushed up to Su Tianyu, pulling out his ID with his left hand and gripping his gun in his right. "Hands up, against the wall!!"

Behind him, Lao Hei and the others, seeing that reinforcements had arrived, didn't foolishly rush forward. Instead, they scattered into the debris piles on either side of the alley, setting up their guns, ready to protect Su Tianyu at any moment!

Looking at the man's ID and the way he spoke, Su Tianyu made a judgment. He was probably telling the truth.

"You don't move either!" Lao Hei shouted from behind Su Tianyu. "If you touch him, we'll fight to the death!"

The middle-aged man was also nervous, because he was facing ruthless bandits, desperate men. So, he only pushed Su Tianyu to the edge of the alley wall, pointing at him and shouting, "Do you want to die??! Do you know who I am?! Drop the gun! Drop it!"

In the center of the alley, Gui Mengxiong and Wu Ziliang had already gotten up and retreated behind the five men.

Su Tianyu looked at the middle-aged man in front of him, extremely conflicted. He wasn't a native of the Golden Triangle and had no connections here. If the man's identity was real, then firing would have serious consequences.

The middle-aged man grabbed Su Tianyu by the collar and shouted again, "I'm telling you to drop the gun!"

Su Tianyu looked at the man and slowly released his right hand, letting the assault rifle fall to the ground.

"Don't move, move and I'll kill you!" the middle-aged man threatened Su Tianyu, then slowly began to step back.

Su Tianyu looked at the man, his heart pounding.

Behind him, Lao Hei didn't say a word, waiting for Su Tianyu to make a decision!

The middle-aged man covered the retreat of Gui Mengxiong, Wu Ziliang, and the others, preparing to get in the car and leave.

In the dim alley, Su Tianyu glanced at the man again, and made a decision in an instant: "Lao Hei!!!"

"Bang!"

Hearing the shout, Lao Hei pulled the trigger without hesitation.

"Pfft!"

The middle-aged man's gun-holding arm instantly spurted blood.

"Whoosh!"

Su Tianyu suddenly burst into action, rushing forward in two steps. His right hand went to his side, pulling out a military knife: "We can't let any of them go! Or we're all finished!"

"Da da da...!" Lao Hei's men instantly opened fire.

After shooting the middle-aged man, Lao Hei and the others ignored the remaining gunmen, and instead, immediately shot down Wu Ziliang and Gui Mengxiong, who had no bullets in their guns.

Su Tianyu dragged the middle-aged man's body in front of him as a shield, waving his hand and shouting, "Charge!! If one gets away, we're all dead!"

Hearing this, Lao Hei and the others swarmed forward. The other side had come in a hurry, and all they had were pistols, making them unable to resist.

Thirty seconds later, the sound of gunfire in the alley ceased.

Su Tianyu walked to the car with his gun, stepping on Gui Mengxiong's back. "Damn it, I just came here to see the world, why did you have to mess with us??! Forcing me to take sides?!"
