chun jie di xiao long
Yo, turned into a god-level author!
These past two days, I've also seen many of you congratulating and blessing me in the book review section. I've been wanting to post a single chapter to thank everyone for your support, but I was delayed by some things I had to do outside these past two days.
Three years ago, when I first met my wife, I was just a fledgling author. At that time, I told her, "Don't worry, you have a good eye. I'll become a Great God author sooner or later."
Hehe…
I had envisioned this day long ago, but when it really arrived, and I saw the words "Great God" added below the name "chun jie di xiao long," to be honest, I felt quite calm.
All along the way,
Especially these past few years,
On the one hand, it's because I've been constantly improving myself,
On the other hand, it's also because the results of each book have been doubling,
I've encountered difficulties, and I've also encountered changes and accidents,
But I gritted my teeth and got through them all.
It's like climbing a mountain.
Taking the cable car to the top,
Quickly taking out my phone to take a picture: "Yay, I'm up here!"
But if you climb up step by step, after reaching the top, you just find a place to sit, looking back at the road you came from, too lazy to speak. Everything is actually in each of those steps.
In fact, I'm always very grateful to the readers who are still subscribing to *Late Night Bookstore* every day. Our daily subscription numbers are actually among the top in Qidian.
Sometimes, Long can be very "watery" (I admit this).
Sometimes, I can also be very tired.
Many outsiders criticize me for not having a main storyline and writing whatever comes to mind.
There's a lot of criticism.
A "watery," plotless, and salted fish book,
Actually has so many people reading it.
It even won the monthly ticket first place the other day.
So, aren't you angry?
I, Long, really wrote *Late Night Bookstore* very capriciously, whether it's the protagonist's personality, the subsequent development path, or even the chapter titles openly labeled "Daily Life."
This book is already three million words long, and it's estimated that it will take at least another half a year to finish. I'd roughly estimate the time to be around New Year's Day.
To be honest, it's really easy for a book to have problems when it reaches this length. First, the author himself will be tired; second, there are likely to be problems with plot control, which is the so-called "collapse."
I have been avoiding this problem, so sometimes I do "water it down" a bit on purpose. It's because I don't want a sudden whim or a long accumulation of fatigue to lead to writing the wrong plot and settings, causing a collapse of the plot and reading experience.
I've been hesitating for a long time,
Should I write an ending about Hell or not?
Should I continue to write about daily life in the Yang Realm, leisurely observing the warmth and coldness of human relationships, and then, when the time is right, leave an open ending and announce the end?
Or should I write the ending of each character, resolve the major events, fill in all the plot holes, and have a thorough beginning and end, which often means that the later part will really have to become xuanhuan (fantasy) again?
If it's the former, to be honest, I feel like *Late Night Bookstore* could be written for several thousand more chapters…
But if it's the latter, a supernatural novel that becomes too much like a xuanhuan story doesn't seem to fit the author's aesthetic either.
However, the story has been written, and so many characters have been written. I have to take responsibility for what I've dug, and give everyone a satisfactory ending, right?
Furthermore, I've found that many readers really want to see the final ending of Hell and the final destination of all the characters.
Okay then,
I, Long, will slowly write it out.
To tell the truth, *Late Night Bookstore* has been written until now, really for the readers who like this book and are still following the subscriptions. My current thought is to give everyone a satisfactory process and a satisfactory story, and not let everyone down for their support and companionship along the way.
It's like opening a restaurant with a unique flavor. You can't disappoint so many loyal customers who support you.
Towards our patrons (everyone),
I won't say that I'll deliberately lick boots,
But I also have to make them satisfied, and not feel like they've been shortchanged, or wasted their time in supporting you.
The bookstore's results are very good. The more words there are, the more the income will continue to increase. Or, if I start a new book, I will encounter new challenges, and maybe the results won't be as good as this one. Therefore, many novels are now getting longer and longer, so that a three-million-word novel seems to be just enough to chew on, and novels with more than ten million words are everywhere…
Honestly,
I, Long, will not rely on piling up words to make money.
Back then, *Terror Broadcasting*, as the book that really brought me great success, was finished when it was finished, without any dragging on.
Because at that time, I had already sharpened my knife and was eager to pursue new challenges.
In terms of my level,
If I start a new book, the results will only be better than the bookstore, and the income will also be higher.
Oh,
Right,
The other day I saw a post where someone was recommending books, and they recommended *Late Night Bookstore*. Then I saw someone replying below:
*Late Night Bookstore* is called horror and supernatural? What kind of horror is this? This author simply can't write horror.
In fact, there should be quite a few people who think this way…
Honestly,
If you say that *Late Night Bookstore* is not a strictly defined horror and supernatural novel,
Okay, I admit it.
But if you say that this author can't write horror stuff,
Hehe;
I'll admit it too, I guess;
I'm just a wimp who's too scared to watch horror movies, so I can only barely get by by writing "watery" chapters and plagiarizing book reviews.
Finally,
Let's do a preview of the new book.
If there are no accidents,
The type of new book will return to the niche style of the past.
Three keywords,
First: Exquisite
Second: Horror
Third: "Infinite Flow"
I have many thoughts and ideas for the new book, and even the opening scenes have surfaced and played out in my mind many times, but I haven't written a single word yet, just occasionally tinkering with some worldviews in my spare time.
Because I still have to focus my energy on *Late Night Bookstore*.
Write slowly,
Don't rush,
Finish the story of *Late Night Bookstore*, write the second half well, leave no regrets for myself, and most importantly, leave no regrets for the people who are still following it now.
The road is long, and life is also long,
Long enough
For me to calm down at this moment and focus on giving a book a proper beginning and end.
Since I've decided to make writing stories my career for life, I have to take on this responsibility.
So,
Don't say that I'm deliberately dragging out the ending in the future.
Just those three points I set for the new book before, the real readers will definitely know what that means…
Finally,
Thank you to the old readers for your years of unwavering support and companionship. We are growing together.
Thank you to the new readers for joining and encouraging us. Our future together is still very long.
I wish you all good health!
Xiao Long.
