Gentle Sleep Instructor
Chapter 523 Safe House
"Go find her." Jiang Cheng turned and walked in the direction Lin Wan'er had disappeared.
"Wait," Cao Yang said, "Chief Qi is still here."
As soon as he finished speaking, a trembling figure emerged from the room, "Don't... don't leave me, I can give you money, lots of money."
Who else could it be but Chief Qi, but he was in terrible condition, his eyes bloodshot, his body covered in welts, like marks left by rope bindings.
Huai Yi thought that Jiang Cheng really cared about this Miss Lin, otherwise, with his shrewdness, he would never have forgotten Chief Qi's existence.
On the way, Cao Yang explained what had happened. After the ghost went after Lin Wan'er, he and Yu Yu hid with the disoriented Chief Qi.
They hadn't gone far, hiding nearby.
After waiting for a while, there was no movement outside. Then, Yu Yu suggested going out to find someone, while Cao Yang suggested holding their position and waiting for reinforcements.
After all, relying on just the two of them, and burdened with Chief Qi, it would be difficult to survive.
And if Jiang Cheng and Huai Yi weren't dead, they would definitely come looking for them.
So the two argued, and finally Yu Yu decided to go out alone to find rescue. "But... but she hadn't gone far when she encountered the Multi-Headed Ghost, and then she was captured," Cao Yang said, a sad expression on his face when he mentioned Yu Yu.
It probably wasn't deep affection, but more like a rabbit mourning the death of a fox.
Everyone is equal before a vengeful ghost.
Those with a door to rely on could struggle a bit, but ordinary people would basically be finished with a single misjudgment.
Jiang Cheng wasn't interested in how Yu Yu died, since she was already dead. He just wanted to confirm Lin Wan'er's safety.
If something happened to Lin Wan'er, even if Wu crawled out of his body, he would cut off each of the Multi-Headed Ghost's heads.
He believed Wu could definitely do it.
As long as the conditions were right.
"We can't wander around, Shen... Brother Jiang." Huai Yi immediately corrected himself.
Jiang Cheng's mental state wasn't right, and he was worried that things would go wrong. After all, besides them, there was still a wandering Multi-Headed Ghost in the hospital.
As for Lin Wan'er, Huai Yi didn't hold out much hope, but he didn't dare to shatter Jiang Cheng's last shred of hope.
Huai Yi had seen firsthand how terrifying a disciple could be when plunged into despair.
If the thing inside Jiang Cheng ran out... Huai Yi glanced furtively at Jiang Cheng's still fairly well-behaved shadow and swallowed. Everyone here would die.
"Go to room 906," Jiang Cheng said coldly.
Hearing that Jiang Cheng had a plan, Huai Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief. If there were any special rooms in the hospital, room 906 was definitely one of them.
The mad nurse living there was also one of the survivors from that year.
Thinking of this, Huai Yi turned around, wanting to slap Chief Qi. If he hadn't lost control of the thing in his pants, they wouldn't have ended up in this situation.
Their footsteps were light, and they didn't hear any sounds along the way, as if Lin Wan'er and the Multi-Headed Ghost had disappeared.
This wasn't a good sign.
Just as they reached the ninth floor, rounded a corner, and appeared in the hallway outside room 906, they suddenly discovered that the door to room 906 was open.
Looking from afar, there was even a light on inside.
"This... isn't this a trap?" Chief Qi had been scared out of his wits, so no one paid him any attention. He just needed to breathe.
"Doesn't seem like it," Cao Yang said, staring at the room. "If it were a trap, this would be too obvious. Could there be something special about this room?"
"Safe house," Huai Yi said immediately.
"What do you mean?" Cao Yang turned to look at Huai Yi. The word "safe" struck a chord with him; he needed a sense of security now more than anything.
"Don't you remember?" Huai Yi seemed to have confirmed this point, his tone excited. "That mad nurse lives in room 906, and she's been fine all along. Perhaps our previous guess was wrong. It's not that the ghost wants the medical records in her possession and hasn't killed her, but that in room 906, the ghost simply can't kill anyone!"
As if responding to their speculation, a wriggling figure appeared in the doorway of room 906. The figure was filthy all over, wearing a hospital gown.
It was the mad nurse!
Perhaps hearing the commotion in the hallway, the mad nurse lay on the ground, leaned out, and looked outside. When she saw Jiang Cheng and the others, a light flickered in her eyes.
"It really is a safe house!" Huai Yi said excitedly.
After saying that, they all ran towards room 906. Huai Yi hadn't expected that Chief Qi, who had been so weak before, could actually run faster than him.
"Stop!"
With Jiang Cheng's roar, everyone else stopped as if they had received an order.
Chief Qi, who had been running the fastest, was less than 10 meters from the door, and the dazed expression on the mad nurse's face could be seen clearly.
"What's wrong?" Cao Yang asked, panting.
Jiang Cheng stepped forward and pushed him away, then grabbed Chief Qi by the collar and dragged him back behind him.
Huai Yi seemed to have understood, and immediately retreated a few steps, creating distance while watching the surroundings warily.
The only one who hadn't changed was the mad nurse. She lay on the ground, tilted her head, and her broken hair stuck to her face. Everything was so calm and natural.
The soft light from the room shone out, like the light of a sanctuary.
"Shadow," Jiang Cheng said in a low voice.
Huai Yi immediately looked at Jiang Cheng's shadow on the wall. Influenced by Huai Yi, Cao Yang and Chief Qi also looked at Jiang Cheng's shadow.
"I'm talking about her shadow," Jiang Cheng said. "Why are you looking at me?"
"Oh, oh," Huai Yi nodded, thinking that it was a conditioned reflex.
A moment later, Cao Yang's eyes froze, and then he gasped.
Because there was a light in the room, the mad woman's shadow on the wall was relatively clear, but thinking about it calmly, the mad woman was lying on the ground, her position was very low.
How could she possibly have a shadow on the opposite wall?
Seeming to know that she had been discovered, the mad woman's originally blank eyes suddenly focused, her pupils filled with resentment.
The next second, Chief Qi saw the mad woman's shadow on the wall change again, as if it were standing up little by little, and finally...
Huai Yi's pupils began to tremble. A clear figure appeared on the wall, the figure was bloated, and it had a dozen or so large and small balls hanging on its shoulders.
"Fuck!" A chill ran down Huai Yi's spine. "This bastard is cheating!"
Without even needing to be told, Chief Qi was the first to run away.
"Step."
"Step."
Heavy footsteps followed closely behind. Cao Yang took the time to glance back, and the sight almost made his skull fly off.
One of the Multi-Headed Ghost's arms had already merged with the mad nurse.
The mad nurse only had her upper body left, as if she had grown out of the Multi-Headed Ghost's body, and as it ran, the mad nurse's arms were still waving incessantly.
