Gentle Sleep Instructor
Chapter 552 Aberration
In the cold light, a strange atmosphere permeated the air. In front of the platform, tracks stretched out, leading into the unknown darkness.
Dampness had caused the tracks to rust.
But how could a platform appear in a mine?
They had walked this road many times, and there were no forks in the road, so there was no possibility of taking the wrong path.
Even more bizarre, there were lights on near the platform.
Lights on meant someone was there.
Could there actually be someone in this forsaken place?
"Could this platform still be in use?" someone whispered, looking around as if afraid to disturb something.
But even they couldn't explain what they were afraid of.
Some suggested that since they were already there, they should check out the station. However, more people suggested leaving quickly, guessing that it was once a secret Japanese base.
As the group argued, a whistle sounded in the distance. Dim yellow lights pierced the darkness, and a train emerged from the darkness.
It was an old steam locomotive, the kind with a large headlight on the front, long overdue to be scrapped. They never expected to see one here.
Then, the train slowly decelerated and stopped beside the platform.
One, two... More and more people emerged from the waiting room, as if they had suddenly appeared. There hadn't been any sound on the platform before.
Their attire was also strange. There was a beautiful woman in a qipao, a man with glasses dressed meticulously, and an old man in cloth clothes carrying a hoe...
People from different eras had gathered together at this eerie station.
One by one, they boarded the train without making a sound or exchanging glances, their eyes fixed straight ahead.
They didn't even notice the group of uninvited guests standing not far in front of the train.
In the instant the miners were stunned, the train suddenly started moving, charging straight towards them. All the tracks in front of the platform disappeared, leaving only the one beneath their feet.
And the oncoming train was on that track!
In the nick of time, only the miner sitting at the back reacted and immediately jumped off the flatbed car.
And he was the only one who survived.
"The rest were taken away by that ghost train?" Fatty's chest heaved, his tone changed.
"That's likely what happened," Huai Yi said.
"What happened afterward?" Jiang Cheng interrupted Fatty and looked at Huai Yi, referring to the miner.
Huai Yi looked at the information in his hand and explained, "After the miner jumped off, he passed out. When he woke up, he was back in the original mine. The station and the train had disappeared."
"Of course, the other miners and the flatbed car they were riding on were also gone."
"At first, the surviving miner thought he was hallucinating and that everything had been a dream. But when he went outside and saw the flatbed car covered in blood, he knew it was all real."
"And," Huai Yi's expression turned serious, "the surviving miner didn't make it in the end. He often went mad at night, shouting, 'It's coming! The station is coming for him!'"
"At first, everyone thought he was just traumatized and would recover after a while, but his condition worsened, and the things he said became more and more terrifying."
"In the beginning, he just said he saw the station again. Then he said he walked over to it and stood on the platform."
"Later, his emotions spiraled out of control. He said the train was coming again, emerging from the darkness."
"On the last night, he raved like a madman, so much that several people couldn't hold him down. He kept saying that the train had arrived, and he saw the missing miners again. They were going to take him away, take him on that eerie train!"
"He also shouted that he saw the name of the station, or maybe the name of the train. He was already out of his mind, but he said it was 'Wuyue' (May), the name was Wuyue!"
"The few people who stayed to watch over him didn't fall asleep until very late. But the next morning, they found that the miner, who was supposed to be sleeping in his bed, was gone."
"His clothes and shoes were still under the bed, and the door was locked. Only the person was missing."
"It was like he had vanished into thin air."
Thinking about what the miner had said before he disappeared, Fatty couldn't help but shudder. He was probably telling the truth, that the ghost train had really come and taken him away in a way that no one could understand.
Disappearing in his sleep without being noticed by anyone nearby made him think of Nightmare Assault.
There seemed to be some strange connection between the two.
This could be seen as a Nightmare Assault distortion, bridging the gap between dreams and reality. In some ways, it represented a deeper invasion of reality than ordinary Nightmare Assault.
"Well..." Huai Yi put down the remote control and hesitated before saying, "I have some more information about Wuyue Station here. Do you think it's worth listening to?"
From Huai Yi's perspective, Wuyue Station was the strangest of the three paranormal events, not only strange but also complex.
And according to the miner's recollections before his disappearance, this paranormal event had been occurring for a long time, at least several decades.
But it hadn't been resolved after so long, and the underlying issues were worth pondering.
"Keep talking," Jiang Cheng said after a moment of consideration.
"Brother Jiang," Huai Yi said awkwardly, "you're not actually interested in this, are you? I only chose it to fill the numbers."
"Based on my experience, this is a tricky case, and there are more victims than we think."
"I think giving up is the most sensible option. We can choose one of the other two paranormal events."
"The half-body statue at the Fengcheng Folklore Museum, or the ghost ship incident on Lake Kosner."
"Just give the introduction," Jiang Cheng said, looking up. "I have my reasons and won't put everyone in danger lightly."
"Doctor," Fatty turned his head awkwardly and looked at Jiang Cheng, "I think Brother Huai Yi is right. This is a station, a train, and a pitch-black tunnel. I think it's too complicated. Why don't we choose one of the first two? Or..." He licked his lips, "we could try our hand at a D-level one."
Seeing that Jiang Cheng ignored him, Fatty wisely shut his mouth. Huai Yi didn't dare to say anything more, so he took out his computer again.
But as soon as he opened the website interface, a notification sound rang out. Immediately afterward, Huai Yi's expression changed as if he had seen something terrifying.
