Gentle Sleep Instructor
Chapter 675 Magazine
There were only three rooms, so everyone decided to arrange people first, and then allocate the rooms.
Jiang Cheng, Fatty, and Huai Yi naturally took one room. Among the remaining people, the relationships seemed quite complicated. Finally, they decided to separate the men and women. The middle-aged man, Wang Qi, and Wen Liangshan took one room, while Shen Mengyun and another woman took another.
During this process, everyone briefly introduced themselves. Jiang Cheng learned that the middle-aged man's name was Gao Yan, and the woman sharing a room with Shen Mengyun was named Shi Xiaoya.
Next was the room allocation. For the sake of fairness, each room sent a representative. Jiang Cheng, Gao Yan, and Shen Mengyun stood together.
Jiang Cheng held out his hand, with three keys in his palm.
The side with the room number was facing down. From above, the three keys looked identical.
"You guys pick first," Jiang Cheng said casually, "so some people won't suspect me of cheating."
Hearing this, Shen Mengyun glanced at him. She still vividly remembered him peeking at her.
Jiang Cheng didn't care; he was very open about it.
In the end, Gao Yan chose the key to room 318, Shen Mengyun took room 107, leaving the mediocre room 229.
After seeing that she had chosen room 107, Shen Mengyun frowned slightly. Shi Xiaoya, who was in her group, was not as calm as her; her face looked very unhappy.
Jiang Cheng shook the key to room 229 in his hand, raised his eyebrows at Shen Mengyun, and said, "Miss Shen, if you're afraid, we can switch."
But just that one sentence seemed to make Shen Mengyun make up her mind. She put away the key and looked at Jiang Cheng, "Thank you for your kindness, but there's no need."
"Now that everyone has chosen their rooms, shouldn't we arrange the actions for tonight?" Gao Yan's tone was steady, making people feel reliable in this environment.
"I suggest we put the swimming pool and library on hold for now. Let's go to the abandoned warehouse that Yuan Xiaoyi mentioned first and see if we can find any clues," Shen Mengyun suggested.
This was something everyone had decided on early on. After all, without any clues, rashly going to a place like the swimming pool, where paranormal events had been confirmed to occur, would be suicide.
"Miss Shen is right, I second that," Jiang Cheng said, raising his hand.
Seeing Jiang Cheng raise his hand, Fatty and Huai Yi, who were behind him, also raised their hands, as if to support Jiang Cheng.
"Alright, then let's meet outside the dormitory building at 9 p.m.," Gao Yan said, looking at everyone.
Jiang Cheng rubbed his chin, "9 p.m. is too early, let's make it 10 p.m." Then he glanced at the gatekeeper's room, letting everyone know that he was worried it was too early and the old man wouldn't be sound asleep yet.
"Brother Jiang is right, it was my oversight," Gao Yan looked very sophisticated and had an extraordinary demeanor. "Then let's make it 10 p.m., everyone acts together."
"Agreed."
"I have no objections."
......
Before parting, Gao Yan reminded everyone to be careful not to make any noise when leaving at night, as no one knew what would happen if they disturbed the gatekeeper.
After speaking, everyone separated.
Only Shen Mengyun and Shi Xiaoya, who lived in room 107, stayed behind.
Walking in the dim, empty corridor, Fatty looked around. The surrounding walls were severely peeling, and large patches of black mold remained near the ground, as if they had been soaked in some liquid, emitting a strange smell.
"Doctor," Fatty leaned over and whispered, "Looking at how badly the walls are peeling, it must be at least twenty or thirty years old. People would believe it if you said this building was dangerous. I think the school's facilities are quite new, so why are they keeping a building like this?"
Seemingly infected by the atmosphere of the scene, Huai Yi also felt a little uneasy, looking left and right, and said, "Could there be some kind of story behind it?"
Ever since separating from Gao Yan and Shen Mengyun, Jiang Cheng seemed to have changed. His entire mental state became focused, "Don't scare yourselves. We'll figure out if there's a problem or not."
"Oh."
Their room was closer to the end of the corridor, which was very quiet. The lights above their heads were similar to the one in front of the gate, all old-fashioned light bulbs, emitting a yellowish glow. Even so, several of them were broken.
The end of the corridor was darker, or rather, it felt blurry. As they walked towards it, it felt as if they were walking into the mouth of a monster.
Standing in front of room 229, Jiang Cheng looked it up and down. This door probably hadn't been opened for a while, as there was a little dust in the cracks.
It was a very old wooden door, painted white. Now, after a long time, the white paint had yellowed. There was a small glass window at about the height of a person's neck.
Through the glass window, they could see that it was dark inside.
No one dared to get too close to look inside, as they were all worried about suddenly seeing a ghost face or something.
Taking out the key, Jiang Cheng opened the door. The moment the door opened, a gust of stale air rushed out.
Turning on his phone's flashlight, Jiang Cheng found the switch on the side of the door. After pressing it, the light inside the room flickered a few times before finally turning on.
Inside was a double dormitory. Aside from being a bit old, the facilities were fairly complete. Two beds were placed on either side, with two desks and two matching chairs.
Not far from the door, there was also a large wooden wardrobe, which looked very solid.
But perhaps influenced by the story told by the female student earlier, Fatty's face was noticeably unnatural after seeing the wardrobe.
In order to ease Fatty's worries, Jiang Cheng, after initially confirming that there were no problems in the room, walked towards the wardrobe and suddenly pulled it open.
Instantly, a figure appeared in the wardrobe.
"Damn it!" Huai Yi cursed in a low voice, "Who the hell stuck a big mirror behind the wardrobe door? Are they sick?"
When the wardrobe door was opened, the mirror was directly facing the doorway, reflecting Huai Yi's appearance.
Huai Yi walked away from the doorway, muttering to himself and staring at his reflection in the mirror. He felt uncomfortable all over, a feeling that lasted until Jiang Cheng closed the wardrobe door.
Fatty and Huai Yi also checked the room. Fatty went to the bedside and carefully knocked on the surrounding walls, as if checking for hidden compartments.
Huai Yi, on the other hand, found a few magazines in one of the desks. "Hehe," Huai Yi said with a lewd smile as he flipped through the magazines, "It seems like the brother who lived here before was very lonely at night."
The magazines were mostly filled with pictures of scantily clad blonde women. Jiang Cheng wasn't interested in that kind of thing and threw the magazines back after a brief look.
"Holy crap! What the hell is this?" Huai Yi, who was sitting cross-legged on the bed reading a magazine, made an incomprehensible sound. A poster fell out of the magazine. He opened the poster with anticipation, only to find that it was a picture of the upper body of a black bodybuilder.
The black bodybuilder exposed his black muscles, grinning with a mouthful of white teeth, revealing a meaningful smile.
