Chapter 30 Doctor, I'm Not Tired At All

Chapter 1 Some Matters

The man in the baseball cap walked over, seemingly wanting to knock on Jiang Cheng's door to confirm something.

The man in the suit stared at the door of 404, then quickly glanced around, his voice low and沉稳: "Let's go back first. Something feels off here."

Back in their room, the man in the suit turned around, closed the door, and cautiously locked it.

The young man in the baseball cap snatched off his hat and threw it hard on the bed, turning around and asking with a bad tone, "Could that sound have been caused by those two guys in 404?"

The baseball cap wearer had several deep scars on his head, the most exaggerated one starting from the back of his head and extending to behind his ear. This was one of the reasons he always wore a hat.

He was clearly not as young as he looked, probably around 30 years old, but dressed in a flashy, roguish manner.

The man in the suit leaned against the wall, his face terribly gloomy. After a long while, he finally spoke, "It shouldn't be. We just got here, and we don't know the conditions for triggering the vengeful spirit yet. I don't believe they would dare to do something like that." He paused, "Unless they're out of their minds."

Reminded by the man in the suit, the baseball cap wearer's anger gradually subsided. He wasn't stupid, and he naturally understood the man in the suit's reasoning.

His face slowly became unnatural. "So that rubbing sound really wasn't made by the players, but..." He looked at the man in the suit, but he ultimately didn't utter the word "ghost."

In the nightmare world, there was an unwritten rule: after a mission began, unless necessary, no one wanted to mention that word, as if mentioning it would bring bad luck.

"Nothing has happened yet, so don't scare yourself," said the man in the suit, "lest we lose our composure."

He unbuttoned the neat buttons on his suit and the top two buttons on his shirt, then took a deep breath and said to his companion, "Theoretically, the 405 room we chose is in the safest location. It has people living on both sides, and the 404 room next door sounds unlucky just from the name, likely the site of a past murder. So no matter what happens to them, we can get firsthand information, as long as we make sure we aren't the first ones to go there."

Upon hearing this, the baseball cap wearer seemed to think of something and reminded him, "We have to be careful. That skinny guy in 404 seems to be deliberately targeting you."

The man in the suit smiled, revealing a row of white teeth, and said disdainfully, "I'll keep an eye on it, and then find an opportunity to leave him here forever."

Hearing the man in the suit say this, the baseball cap wearer didn't say anything more.

After discussing the night watch and other matters with the man in the suit, he went to sleep first.

After all, whether or not one was full of energy directly affected whether or not they could survive in a nightmare.

Room 404.

After returning to the room, Jiang Cheng didn't lie down immediately, but sat on a chair, as if he was thinking about something.

The fatty felt that now was the time to talk business, so he sat up from the bed and poked his head out, saying, "Doctor, do you think someone will die tonight?"

In the last villa mission, the middle-aged man had died strangely on the first night, his neck twisted 180 degrees, his toes pointing forward and his face facing backward.

What was even worse was that the fatty was the first to discover him, and he was so scared that he almost lost control of his bladder on the spot.

Now that terrifying scene still appeared in his mind from time to time.

"I don't think so," Jiang Cheng replied after thinking for a few seconds.

The fatty muttered, "Doctor, you also said that we wouldn't enter a nightmare tonight, but we still came in."

Jiang Cheng turned his head, stared at the fatty for a while, and suddenly said, "Fatty, I suddenly remembered something very important."

"What do you want to say, Doctor?" The fatty nodded naturally. It was rare to see the Doctor so serious, and he felt that the latter might have discovered some important clues.

"Be careful when you sleep tonight, and it's best to cover the quilt to your chin," Jiang Cheng said, gesturing with his hand, his expression very serious.

The fatty couldn't help but feel a little scared. He quickly scanned his surroundings, then wrapped the quilt around himself, before cautiously asking, "Why do you say that?"

Jiang Cheng clapped his hands and stood up. "Because that way, when a ghost comes to break your neck at night, you can still struggle a bit."

Fatty: "......"

Perhaps seeing the shivering fatty was too pitiful, or perhaps out of a moment of conscience, Jiang Cheng took the initiative to say that he would keep watch, letting the fatty sleep first, and then wake him up later, so they could switch shifts.

But the fatty shook his head, sighed, and said, "No need, Doctor. The story you just told was too refreshing. Now, as soon as I close my eyes, I see a ghost breaking my neck. I'm not sleepy at all."

Since the fatty insisted, Jiang Cheng compromised. He agreed on a time, told the fatty to wake him up, and then went to sleep first.

The fatty sat on the bed, wrapped all the quilts around himself, but even then he couldn't stop feeling the chill from within.

To be honest, as soon as he entered this dormitory building, he had a very bad premonition, as if something was wrong.

But he carefully observed everything again, but couldn't find where that strange feeling came from.

When Jiang Cheng said he had a premonition, the fatty actually felt the same way. He felt that someone would most likely die tonight.

There was no basis for this, it was purely the fatty clan's intuition.

The "breaking neck" meme could be said to have taken root in the fatty's heart. He changed his sitting position several times, but still didn't feel safe.

Finally, he simply propped up the pillow and leaned against the wall, then leaned against the pillow. This way, with his back against the wall, his neck shouldn't be broken by a ghost.

After a while, Jiang Cheng began to snore softly.

The fatty couldn't help but admire Jiang Cheng. No matter when or where, he could fall asleep whenever he wanted.

Compared to the clear division of labor in rooms 404 and 405, the people in room 406 were far worse off.

Although there were three of them, they didn't trust each other.

Moreover, there were only two beds in the room, which meant that one person would have to spend the night on a stool.

Two men and one woman, but the woman had the advantage.

The woman looked unremarkable, with a neat ponytail and eyes as sharp as a knife.

If Jiang Cheng were here, he could probably also judge from the woman's straight back and the calluses on her tiger's mouth and fingertips that she should be a martial artist, and might even have handled a gun.

But those two men didn't have that kind of ability. All they could tell was that the woman was not to be trifled with.

And she was definitely not entering a nightmare for the first time, otherwise she wouldn't be so calm.

The woman occupied the best bed in the room, against the wall, away from the window.

After all, you never know when a green face might appear outside the window.

The middle-aged man in the vest and the other man were both entering a nightmare for the first time. They sat side by side on the bed, looking uneasy.
