Chapter 1153 The Second Door

Chapter 1 Anomaly

Not only Fatty, but even Jiang Cheng was startled by Wu's attitude. He didn't understand how Wu, who was fine just now, had suddenly gone crazy.

But Wu's words aroused Fatty's curiosity. Compared to the doctor, Wu was definitely the stronger fighter. If he could get Wu's guidance, he would improve faster.

So Fatty imitated the demeanor of martial arts experts sparring in movies, clasped his hands, and stared at Wu's face, formally saying, "Then… excuse me."

Before Fatty could build up his emotions, Wu struck first.

He slashed down diagonally with the scabbard he was holding.

Although it was just a scabbard, not a sword, Jiang Cheng and Fatty, who had seen Wu fight, knew that it was this scabbard that had stabbed the night watchman to death in the last mission.

Not daring to be careless, as Wu's movements were much faster than the doctor's, Fatty immediately sidestepped. The scabbard brushed past his clothes. A moment later, and he would have been struck.

Suddenly, Fatty's heart was filled with complex emotions. He actually felt a sense of unfamiliarity from Wu.

Perhaps… Wu wasn't joking. He was serious.

Under Wu's offensive, Fatty had no chance to fight back. After a few moves, Fatty was in a bad situation, with several close calls. If it weren't for his agility, he would have been down already.

Jiang Cheng watched from the side, anxious. If this continued, Fatty would definitely get hurt.

He wanted Wu to stop, but as soon as he opened his mouth, he saw Wu retract the scabbard, change from a slash to a thrust, and head straight for Fatty's chest.

Judging from Wu's speed and Fatty's position, Jiang Cheng could be sure that this attack was unavoidable.

But the next second, a shocking scene appeared. The scabbard seemed to be interfered with by a mysterious force, and it actually moved a few centimeters to the right, allowing Fatty to barely dodge the attack.

The scabbard brushed past Fatty's body, without harming him in the slightest.

Just as Fatty wanted to continue dodging Wu's next attack, Wu retracted the scabbard and retreated, re-inserting the knife into the scabbard.

Fatty was covered in sweat, breathing heavily, and looked at Wu in surprise. "N-no more training?"

"No more training." Wu looked at Fatty calmly, and after a moment, added, "You performed well, much better than this guy. Keep up the good work."

Fatty naturally understood that Wu was referring to the doctor, but what really surprised Fatty was the difference in Wu's attitude before and after, and… the last sentence, "Keep up the good work."

The Wu in his memory would never say such a thing.

"Not bad, not bad, definitely much stronger than me." Jiang Cheng echoed Wu's words, a look of approval on his face, and took a step forward, seemingly wanting to come up and pat Fatty on the shoulder, but in the end, for some reason, he gave up.

After Wu tested Fatty, he turned into shadow form again, returned to the wall, and finally disappeared.

"Wu is really amazing. Doctor, I really thought I couldn't avoid that last attack." Fatty stared at his chest, with lingering fear, and asked, "Do you think… Wu secretly let me off the hook because he didn't want to embarrass me?"

Jiang Cheng smiled. "Definitely. Wu looks fierce, but he's actually very kind-hearted."

"Wu is a good person. If it weren't for him, we would have died on that bus long ago." Recalling the events of this time, Fatty had a grateful heart for everyone who had helped him.

But he didn't notice that the way the doctor looked at him was different now, and there was a hint of unspeakable vigilance in it.

The smile on his face seemed to be painted on, and after looking at it for a long time, it seemed a little fake.

"Fatty." Jiang Cheng asked casually, "What are you planning to do later?"

Fatty came back to his senses, took a few quick steps, found a small notebook under a pair of boxing gloves, opened it, and saw rows of words inside. These were all Fatty's study and exercise plans.

His thick finger moved down and finally stopped on a line of words. Fatty looked up seriously, looked at Jiang Cheng, "According to today's plan, I'm going to read Sherlock Holmes Detective Agency next, to learn how to collect clues, and tracking and counter-tracking."

Jiang Cheng nodded. "Very good, and what about after you finish these?"

"Next, I'll watch a horror movie." Speaking of this, Fatty showed an embarrassed expression. "Doctor, although there was a problem with the movie I found last time, I think a normal person wouldn't be so unlucky. That kind of thing, it's almost impossible to encounter it more than once in a lifetime."

"I think so too, then you go ahead and get busy, I'm tired, I'm going upstairs to sleep for a while." Jiang Cheng turned and went upstairs.

Fatty watched Jiang Cheng leave, feeling the tone in Jiang Cheng's words, and his attitude towards him. Fatty always felt a little strange. In the past, the doctor's attitude towards his plans, although not discouraging, was always one of 'if you like it, then go for it'. He had never been as supportive as he was today, and had even praised him with such a good attitude.

"What's going on?" Fatty frowned. "Why is everyone so weird today?"

Jiang Cheng, who returned to his bedroom, seemed to have changed instantly. He leaned against the door, breathing heavily, and even cold sweat dripped from his forehead. The one outside… no, the Fatty downstairs was obviously not right.

Fatty had been replaced.

The guy downstairs… was a ghost!

He had seen it very clearly. At the moment when Wu's scabbard was about to pierce his chest, a force twisted the trajectory of the scabbard, helping him barely avoid the attack.

Wu must have noticed something was wrong too, otherwise he would never have opened his mouth to test him and asked to spar with him.

The question now was when was Fatty replaced?

What exactly was the origin of the ghost below?

And, most importantly, where was the real Fatty now? Was he dead or alive?

At the thought that Fatty might have already met with misfortune, Jiang Cheng's whole body trembled. He didn't know, and didn't dare to think, what he would do if he confirmed that Fatty had been killed.

A moment later, a black shadow walked out of the wall. Wu stood in front of him.

"There's something on him." Wu's voice was cold. "Something that doesn't belong to him. Just now, it was that thing that helped him avoid my attack."

"What exactly is going on?" Jiang Cheng paid attention to the movement outside, and lowered his voice.

"During your spar just now, I sensed the existence of that thing, so I took action to test it." Wu was concise, and from Wu's expression, Jiang Cheng knew that this matter was not simple.

"What is that thing?" Jiang Cheng asked.

Wu was silent for a long time, and finally shook his head.

"Even you don't know…" Jiang Cheng took a deep breath.

Wu raised his head, stared into Jiang Cheng's eyes, as if judging, and after a few seconds, reached out his hand and pointed at Jiang Cheng's chest. "That thing on him has your scent."
