Chapter 760: Chapter 760: I Am Your Grandpa Divine Turtle
As Scarlett Jennings took out the talisman, several people in the factory’s break room exchanged puzzled glances.
The underling standing next to the boss jumped in shock.
He remembered!
"Bo-Boss, she, she seems to be that mystic from ’Inspiration’..."
However, before he could finish his sentence, something flashed before his eyes, and he found himself suddenly struck twice in the head.
Ah da!
On the left and right, it was Liora Gold and Araminta Gold simultaneously attacking.
The boss who had been casually sitting, along with the other subordinates, were all stunned. When they saw that the attackers were two little papermen the size of palms, they were even more dumbfounded.
They all spent idle time scrolling through their phones, so many quickly recognized Scarlett Jennings.
But it was clearly too late.
Over there, Scarlett Jennings and Gregory Xander were chanting spells together.
"City God’s Pardon, Five Ghosts Assistance."
"Supreme Elder Lao, lend me your divine power."
In the next moment, five strands of ghost energy suddenly appeared in the room, rushing towards those who had raised weapons to attack.
Gregory Xander punched one after another, and in an instant, half of the people in the room were knocked down.
The leader’s face darkened instantly, as he was about to call for his men, he was kicked in the chest by someone and fell back pitifully onto the sofa.
It was the driver brought by Samuel Chalmers.
Scarlett Jennings took advantage of the moment to scatter the immobilization talisman in her hand, while handing two to Kingston Jennings beside her,
"You’ve just regained your spirit, don’t make a move."
As for Samuel Chalmers, from the moment Scarlett Jennings and Gregory Xander made their move, he stood protectively by Scarlett’s side, effortlessly knocking down anyone who approached.
With his swift moves, he was no less capable than the driver next to him.
As talismans flew around the room, the original group of minions were controlled almost instantly, and the leader’s face looked extremely grim. Regardless, he pulled out a black tube and aimed it at them,
"Stop it, all of you!"
The driver initially planned to capture the people, but upon seeing this, he froze.
Scarlett Jennings scanned the situation, and without hesitation, she threw a Thunder Talisman directly at the leader.
"...Boom."
A clear thunderbolt suddenly penetrated the roof of the factory and landed inside.
With a crack, the bolt accurately struck the leader.
The threat that was about to come out of his mouth was cut short as his hair was fried to black, and he spat a puff of black smoke before flipping his eyes and collapsing onto the sofa, unable to move.
With his fall, the remaining minions panicked.
Seeing Scarlett Jennings’ strike, those holding knives trembled, fearing they’d be struck by lightning too. They dropped their knives and pleaded for mercy.
How the hell are they supposed to fight?
Either summoning ghosts or calling down lightning, who can possibly beat them?
The thirty or so people in the room were quickly subdued.
The commotion here was so loud that even those gambling in the front realized something was wrong. Coupled with the lightning strike causing a short circuit, everyone collectively ran towards the factory’s entrance.
However, when they reached the entrance, they found no matter how they pushed, the iron door budged not an inch.
It’s as if a great force blocked the entrance, preventing anyone from leaving the factory.
The crowd began to wail and scream, turning the factory into chaos in an instant.
Scarlett Jennings remained calm as usual.
She turned on the emergency power, and the thirty or so people squatted on the ground, trembling. Liora Gold and Araminta Gold each held a rope, swiftly weaving through the crowd, binding everyone tightly together in a tangled mess.
Gregory Xander watched and listened to the curses of the guests outside, unable to resist looking at Scarlett Jennings,
"This was you?"
Scarlett Jennings nodded, "I attached a forbidden spell at the entrance when we were brought in."
After all, the organizers of such places can’t be spared, nor can those participating in underground gambling.
Kingston Jennings, having had no chance to act throughout, took the opportunity during the fight to send a report message with location details using his phone.
The police would take some time to arrive, so taking advantage of the moment, Scarlett Jennings directly approached those bound together and asked,
"Is there a secret warehouse or basement in this factory where people can be hidden?"
The minions exchanged glances, and soon some disclosed possible hiding places nearby.
Scarlett Jennings glanced over at the group, exchanged a look with Samuel Chalmers and quickly said,
"Let’s just find it ourselves."
She paused, indicating Kingston and the driver should stay,
"You wait here for the police, we’ll return once we find the person."
With that, the five divided into two groups, one searching for Layla Xalvadora, the other staying to watch the people.
Kingston Jennings nodded to show he was okay, and watched Scarlett Jennings and the others head toward the back.
But not long after Scarlett Jennings and the others left the room, one of the bound individuals rolled his eyes and chose an angle where the others weren’t paying attention. Quietly, he reached his left finger to a ring on his right hand.
With a click, a needle popped out from the ring.
The man unhesitatingly pricked his finger, a drop of blood flowing from his fingertip as he quickly muttered under his breath.
With his muttering, the bleeding from the fingertip began to transform into strands of black smoke.
The black smoke condensed into black mist, stealthily moving towards Kingston Jennings and the driver.
The next second.
The man’s fingertip was suddenly bitten by something.
"Ah! What is this?!"
He jerked up only to find a turtle had bitten into his fingertip.
The system turtle clamped onto the man’s fingertip, selfishly absorbing the black mist within him.
As black mist entered its body, the turtle was quickly shrouded with the mist, floating effortlessly in the air, devouring all the black mist within the man.
Meeting the man’s terrified gaze, even knowing he couldn’t hear its voice, the turtle lifted its head and cast a dominating glance,
[I am your mighty turtle!]
[All this energy is mine! Forfeit!]
The man, feeling his internal powers being slowly drained, plunged into despair, struggling to shake off the turtle but was unable to move.
It was then that the originally departed Scarlett Jennings and her companions came back unexpectedly.
Scarlett Jennings glanced at the system, signaling, "That’s enough; I still have questions."
Reluctantly, the system turtle withdrew, directing the black mist back to Scarlett Jennings side, despite having gained, it couldn’t resist complaining,
[This black mist energy is too weak, not even half as strong as that previous fellow. Definitely just a small fry!]
Scarlett Jennings didn’t think that the Black Mist Organization would leave anyone important to guard Layla Xalvadora. She turned to the man and asked,
"So now can you tell us where Layla Xalvadora is?"
