Chapter 697 641 Born The Ultimate Supervisor.

Monday 11 January 1996 Morning ZAGE Tokyo Offices.

Zaboru and the other ZAGE higher-ups were currently in a meeting at the Tokyo office, discussing the growing number of subsidiaries under ZAGE's control. Leading the discussion was Rina Kishimori, Head Administrator of ZAGE, who stood at the front of the room, explaining the current situation in detail.

"So far, ZAGE has successfully acquired a significant number of companies, and overall, they've been cooperating with us quite well. However, I believe we need to implement further strategies to ensure these companies remain aligned with our long-term goals and are genuinely committed to continued collaboration. Trust and synergy can't be taken for granted — they need to be reinforced through consistent oversight and engagement.

That said, I've compiled a list of all the companies that are now officially ZAGE subsidiaries or where ZAGE holds a substantial ownership stake. This list gives us a clearer view of our current reach and the diverse sectors we're now influencing."

The other meeting participants nodded in agreement, fully aware that ZAGE already owned a large number of companies — and that number was likely to grow even more in the near future.

Then Rina Kishimori continued, "I believe this list will expand even more in the near future. Right now, ZAGE is managing things relatively well, thanks to the Boss allowing us to increase our manpower. However, to be honest, we're still overwhelmed. Our current administrative team simply doesn't have the capacity to supervise this many companies effectively."

She let out a sigh, then continued with a proposal. "That's why I'd like to formally suggest the creation of a new department dedicated entirely to supervising ZAGE subsidiaries. This new division would handle direct oversight of all subsidiary companies, while the Admin team could remain focused on operations at the main offices and provide support to the new supervisors."

Zaboru nodded thoughtfully. The idea sounded plausible.

Zaboru leaned back slightly, deep in thought. "That's certainly a strong possibility," he murmured to himself. "But the matter of who should lead the new Supervisor Department needs to be carefully considered. Sayuri-san, what's your take on this? Do we have the capacity to create and sustain a new division just for subsidiary oversight?"

Sayuri, flipping through her notes, nodded confidently. "It's very plausible, Boss. Our financials are stable, and we have available office space that could easily accommodate a new department. Structurally, there's room for expansion, and from an operational standpoint, it makes sense. As for who should lead the Supervisor Division..." she trailed off.

Just then, before anyone could continue the thought, a hand went up.

It was Yuna — the twin sister of Yugo, sitting calmly and confidently near the end of the table. Her voice was clear and direct as she spoke.

"Boss, how about if I take on the role of Supervisor?"

Zaboru then asked, "Hmm? Why though, Yuna? Is being the head of ZAGE Video Game Development starting to overwhelm you?"

Yuna smiled gently and shook her head. "No, not at all. Actually, I don't hate being head of the video game development division — I've always taken the role seriously and done my best. But recently, I've come to realize that my passion might not lie in video games development after all. While I've been proud to lead the department, I think there are others here who are far more passionate and better suited for it. People who truly live and breathe games. I don't want to hold the position just out of obligation if someone else could take it to the next level."

Zaboru reflected on her words. Yuna had always been a solid and dependable leader for the ZAGE Tokyo game development team. She was efficient, disciplined, and professional. But as he thought deeper, he realized that her leadership had always been rooted more in responsibility than enthusiasm. She followed the rules precisely, executed strategies well, but rarely showed the excitement or creative spark that often fuels game development. In contrast, her twin brother Yugo — the head of Quality Control — was practically bursting with passion for video games. Yugo often tested and developed games long past work hours just because he loved them so much.

Zaboru now saw the truth in Yuna's confession. She had done her duty admirably, but her heart simply wasn't in the games themselves. And maybe, just maybe, she was ready for something that truly sparked her own interest.

"Hmm, I see. Then why do you want to become the Supervisor of ZAGE's subsidiaries, Yuna?" Zaboru asked with a raised brow.

Yuna smiled with quiet confidence. "Well, first of all, the position involves a lot of travel — and I absolutely love traveling, Boss. On top of that, I really enjoy overseeing multiple businesses and making sure everything stays in line with ZAGE's core values. I take pride in ensuring that none of the subsidiaries stray from our vision or do anything that might damage our reputation. Honestly, I love that kind of responsibility."

Zaboru nodded slowly, his thoughts aligning. Yuna had always been the type who thrived on structure and control. She couldn't stand it when subordinates acted outside of protocol or made decisions without approval. She had a sharp eye for details and a strong sense of order. Truthfully, she was the ideal candidate to lead the new Supervisor Division — precise, principled, and unafraid to take command.

"Alright then, Yuna. Do you have anyone in mind to take over as Head of ZAGE Game Development in Tokyo?" Zaboru asked.

Yuna nodded without hesitation. "Yes — I recommend Hideo Kojima. Not only is he incredibly talented and creative, but he's also a close friend of Yugo's. They've worked together often, and Kojima has shown strong leadership potential. I believe he's genuinely suited for the position and can bring a fresh vision to the team."

Zaboru smiled and gave a firm nod of approval. "Sounds like a solid choice."

The meeting continued with a renewed sense of direction. Zaboru officially confirmed the formation of a new division that would work in tandem with the Admin team to oversee all of ZAGE's subsidiary companies. Yuna would take the helm as the head of this new Supervisor Division, bringing her structure and discipline to the forefront of inter-company management. Meanwhile, Hideo Kojima would step in to lead the Tokyo branch of ZAGE's Game Development Department, marking a new chapter for the team with his creative vision and leadership experience.
