Saturday 2 January 1996.
Zaboru sat in his office, Ayumi beside him. He wasn't working like usual. Instead, he was waiting for three specific Tokusatsu shows to air: Ultraman Tiga, Kamen Rider Kuuga, and Super Sentai.
Although Ayumi didn't really like Tokusatsu, she wanted to accompany her boyfriend. She enjoyed simply sitting and watching things with him.
Zaboru asked her, "You sure you want to watch these together, Ayumi? I mean, do you even like Tokusatsu?"
Ayumi smiled. "Well, I can try. Besides, I just want to spend time with you anyway."
Zaboru chuckled and nodded. "Well, do as you please then."
Ayumi giggled.
Although these three series originated from his drafts, he provided the detailed production plans to Rekka Studio — a company owned by ZAGE that specializes in creating Tokusatsu content and is led by Kyotaro Shinomori.
Zaboru also secured three Tokusatsu licenses from TOEI. The Kamen Rider and Ultraman rights were handed over to Kyotaro Shinomori by the TOEI CEO after the company fired him due to the failure of recent Ultraman shows. TOEI no longer saw much value in either Ultraman or Kamen Rider, so they passed the rights to Kyotaro — who, in this world, is the original creator of Sentai, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider. It seemed like TOEI's real goal was to shift the blame for the shows' failure onto Kyotaro Shinomori.
As for Super Sentai, ZAGE acquired the rights for 4 billion yen. TOEI decided to sell because, despite the franchise's popularity, it wasn't generating much revenue. TOEI believed that Metal Heroes and anime represented the future of Tokusatsu and saw little value in holding onto Super Sentai.
Zaboru then smile as the YaDo TV which subscription TV by ZAGE subsidiary YaDo Animation are playing first are Kamen Rider Kuuga playing.
The episode opens with an archaeological team uncovering mysterious ruins from an ancient civilization known as the Linto Tribe. Deep in the ruins lies a sealed tomb containing an ominous warning in stone — but the team, ignoring the danger, accidentally releases a monstrous being called Zu-Gooma-Gu, one of the Grongi, an ancient race of monsters responsible for genocide 2,000 years ago.
As the ruins collapse and monsters awaken, a dark cloud of dread spreads, foreshadowing a wave of deaths caused by these Grongi as they begin their "game" — a killing spree based on a terrifying internal competition.
Meet Yusuke Godai
Enter Yusuke Godai, a cheerful, free-spirited young man who performs various part-time jobs and seems aimless on the surface — but he carries a deep kindness and sense of justice. He visits the ruins where the disaster occurred to support his archaeologist friend, Professor Sakurako Sawatari.
Yusuke finds a mysterious belt-like artifact, the Arcle, which reacts to him. This foreshadows his fate as the chosen warrior of the Linto legend — Kuuga, the hero destined to protect humanity from the Grongi.
The episode ends with chaos. Another Grongi creature attacks civilians, and Yusuke — realizing the danger — instinctively puts on the Arcle. It fuses into his body, triggering a painful but powerful transformation. His body is flooded with ancient energy, and in a flash of light, Kuuga's first form — the white "Growing Form" — is born.
The screen fades out as Yusuke screams, half in agony, half in transformation.
Then the ending showing Kuuga Opening songs.
Ayumi was surprised. The plot was actually pretty good. "Hmm, it's just the first episode and it already ends on a cliffhanger?"
Zaboru grinned. "It's really good." The actors Kyotaro Shinomori had chosen were top-notch—Zaboru knew he could count on him.
Next are Ultraman Tiga shows and Zaboru and Ayumi Continue watching
The show begins with the discovery of ancient ruins in the Giza-like desert of R'lyeh, where three stone statues of giant beings (Ultraman-like) have stood sealed for 30 million years. These beings once protected Earth from a great evil during a prehistoric civilization.
As the research team uncovers the ruins, two terrifying monsters — Golgolem and Melba — awaken and begin attacking. These monsters were the ancient enemies that defeated the giant warriors and brought the downfall of that ancient civilization.
The Earth is now protected by GUTS (Global Unlimited Task Squad) — a sci-fi military and research organization with advanced aircraft and weapons. Their team is sent to investigate the ancient site and handle the sudden monster threat.
The protagonist, Daigo Madoka, is a rookie pilot in GUTS — optimistic, kind-hearted, and courageous. He is drawn to the ruins, feeling a strange connection to the mysterious stone statues.
As Golgolem and Melba destroy two of the three stone giants, the situation becomes desperate. Only one giant statue remains — and it's damaged, crumbling.
In a critical moment, Daigo runs into the ruins, trying to protect civilians. The final statue emits a beam of light and merges with Daigo — choosing him as its host.
This awakens Ultraman Tiga — no longer just a stone statue, but revived as a being of light through Daigo's heart and courage. In a dramatic CGI-assisted transformation, Daigo becomes Tiga for the first time.
Tiga battles the two kaiju, initially struggling due to inexperience and unfamiliarity with his powers. However, he quickly adapts and switches between his iconic multi-types:
Multi Type (red/purple) – Balanced
Power Type (red) – Strong but slow
Sky Type (purple) – Fast but weaker
He defeats the monsters using his Zeperion Ray, showcasing Tiga's first true heroic moment.
After that Ultraman Tiga Opening songs are played.
Zaboru grinned, visibly excited. Ultraman Tiga was his favorite, and now it had finally appeared in this world.
And last are Super Sentai Kyoru Sentai Zyuranger and Zaboru watch it too.
170 million years ago, an ancient civilization known as the Dinosaur Tribe coexisted with prehistoric creatures and battled an evil sorceress named Bandora. She wreaked havoc on Earth, causing mass destruction, especially to the dinosaurs. After a long and desperate war, Bandora was finally sealed away on the planet Nemesis, thanks to the efforts of five legendary warriors and the powerful Guardian Beasts.
In the modern day (1995), astronauts land on the planet Nemesis during an exploratory mission. They unwittingly open the magical seal that had contained Bandora and her evil minions for millions of years. With an evil laugh, Bandora is resurrected and wastes no time returning to Earth to exact her revenge.
Sensing the return of Bandora, Barza (the ancient sage and guardian of the Earth) awakens five legendary warriors who had been sealed in suspended animation inside a hidden chamber within a temple. These five warriors are the Zyurangers, each from an ancient tribe that once fought alongside the dinosaurs:
Geki – Tyranno Ranger (Tyrannosaurus Tribe) – The brave leaderGoushi – Mammoth Ranger (Shinobizuno Tribe) – The strong and wiseDan – Tricera Ranger (Etoffe Tribe) – The cheerful and agileBoi – Tiger Ranger (Dai Tribe) – The youngest and most energeticMei – Ptera Ranger (Risha Tribe) – The graceful and skilled archer
Each one represents both a dinosaur spirit and a human tribe. Barza informs them that their mission is to once again protect Earth from Bandora's chaos.
Then Bandora begins her assault by releasing a monstrous creature, Dora Titan, to attack the city. Panic spreads as Dora Titan begins destroying buildings and unleashing havoc. The newly awakened Zyurangers are still adjusting to the modern world, but they don't hesitate to leap into action.
After getting briefed by Barza, the five heroes use their Dino Bucklers and shout "Dino Buckler!" to transform into the mighty Zyurangers.
Each dons their iconic color-coded suit and helmet, gaining enhanced strength, speed, and martial arts prowess. They fight off the Golem Soldiers , showing off their unique weapons and teamwork.
As Dora Titan grows even stronger and poses a huge threat, Barza calls upon the legendary Guardian Beasts:
The Guardian Beasts represent:

The episode ends with the Zyurangers realizing their destiny, standing united as Earth's legendary warriors of justice — ready to face Bandora and the dark magic of the past.
Then the Zyuranger Opening song playing!.
Zaboru smiled. "Damn, that was all really good." Everything had exceeded his expectations — all three shows were top-notch, and Kyotaro Shinomori had brought his detailed scripts to life perfectly. He felt truly satisfied.
Ayumi chuckled. "Yeah, not bad, really."
Zaboru noticed the lack of excitement in her tone. He sighed and thought to himself, Women will never understand the charm of Tokusatsu... sigh...
Just like Zaboru, viewers also responded positively to ZAGE's first three Tokusatsu shows. Their debut episodes were well received, marking the beginning of a new era of Tokusatsu led by Rekka Studio and ZAGE.
