Chapter 114 The Lecture

Yan Cheng and Li Wei turned their heads. Yan Cheng saw that Wang Muman had returned to normal but didn't know what to say.

Wang Muman looked into Yan Cheng's eyes again. Her first thought was to hide. She didn't show it in her actions, behaving as she would during a practical class.

"Hey, I'm good at drawing. How about we draw a sunset at sea?" He Lele said excitedly to the three of them.

"Sure, you go first then," Wang Muman replied.

The teacher asked each group to collect materials. Yan Cheng went and returned after collecting them, and the table was full.

Wang Muman cleared away other items from He Lele's and her own table. She had expected He Lele to take some time to draw and was wondering how they would communicate. After tidying up, she saw He Lele put down her brush, looking as if she had finished.

"We can start cutting paper now. Wasn't I fast!"

Li Wei had already picked up the red paper, ready to cut a semicircle.

"He Lele, your drawing looks like something a primary school student would do," Yan Cheng commented.

"What do you know? This is called saving time. The main part is the pasting," He Lele retorted.

He Lele wanted to find scissors, but her desk drawer was too messy, and she didn't feel like looking. She decided to watch them cut instead. She also kept instructing Li Wei because his cutting was uneven, showing a lack of dexterity.

While cutting, Wang Muman kept thinking about how to start. After a long while, once she had finished cutting, she said to Yan Cheng, "Yan Cheng, I'm sorry for making you stand up to answer questions in biology class."

Yan Cheng hadn't expected her to say that first. "It's fine. The teacher didn't even notice."

With someone having broken the ice, the awkwardness dissipated.

"After class, I'll go over that problem with you again," Yan Cheng said, starting to operate the hot melt glue. It was his first time doing this, and the glue came out uncontrollably, a lot of it squeezing out. It got better later, but some got stuck on his hand, which was difficult to remove.

When class ended, Yan Cheng placed the finished work on the podium and returned to his seat.

"How about it? My primary school drawing, this can make up for it."

He had just returned when he heard He Lele speaking. Yan Cheng, lacking Zhou Mingyu's sense of humor, just grunted and asked Wang Muman to take out her paper so he could start explaining the problem.

He Lele pouted, thinking: Zhou Mingyu is much more interesting. This guy clearly prioritizes romance over friendship. He Lele took out a bag of shrimp crackers and ate them. She leaned over to listen for a while, then felt sleepy and rested her head on the desk, closing her eyes.

Wang Muman was engrossed in listening. The warmth beside her, which had been there moments ago, suddenly disappeared. She glanced at He Lele, who had already fallen asleep, her face stiff.

"So that's how it is. I understand now!" Wang Muman picked up her pen and wrote it out again, her movements fluid. With guidance, her mind became clear.

Yan Cheng deliberately explained the problem in a way Wang Muman could easily understand. After all, he had explained many problems before and knew how to make her grasp them faster.

As Yan Cheng was about to turn away, Wang Muman called him again, "Yan Cheng, my brother wants to invite you and Grandma for dinner."

"Is it this weekend? Why the sudden invitation for dinner?" Yan Cheng was stunned at first, then reacted after a moment.

"This weekend. He said he wants to meet you in person and have a good chat, and also thank Grandma for taking care of me." Wang Muman shook her head, not knowing what they talked about privately.

Yan Cheng agreed and then said, "I have to accompany Grandma for a medical check-up that day. How about next week?"
