Chapter 266 The Interrogation

The Seven Warlords have collapsed.

With four of the Seven Warlords slain, four experts from the Xuanwu Navy also joined the encirclement of other top fighters.

For instance, Sima Yi confronted Akainu.

Akainu, with his Devil Fruit abilities suppressed, was on the brink of death.

If not for the timely appearance of a Door-Door Fruit user who pulled Akainu out of the battle, he would have surely lost his life.

Olaf, in tandem with Vanma Yujiro, fiercely battled Garp.

Kenshiro remained locked in an intense struggle with Sengoku, but Kenshiro still held the upper hand.

Sengoku's defeat was merely a matter of time.

The duel between Sakata Gintoki and Mihawk was a clash between swordsmen.

The pride of a swordsman disallowed any interference from others.

Enel and Borsalino were also locked in an equally fierce battle in the sky.

The confrontation between light and lightning filled their battlefield with the peril of electricity.

Jing Ke and Katakuri's fight had also reached a fever pitch.

Both had sustained injuries to varying degrees.

Jing Ke's mastery of the Shadow-Shadow Fruit had reached an exceptionally high level.

Although Katakuri's Devil Fruit abilities were formidable, and his elemental form allowed him to frequently evade Jing Ke's shadow-based attacks, he was now heavily wounded against the elusive shadow clones that could shift locations at any moment.

His defeat was also a matter of time.

The battle between the Special Forces and the Seraphim army was drawing to a close.

Benedict's shadow clones had been almost entirely depleted.

The Special Forces had suffered nearly fifty percent casualties.

The Seraphim army was reduced to fewer than several hundred.

As for the World Government's CP organization members and elite naval units, their losses were even more devastating compared to the Xuanwu Navy.

It was clear to anyone with insight that if the battle continued, the World Government would undoubtedly lose.

"Bartholomew Kuma."

"You, who should have resented the World Government, have become its lapdog."

"Now, how should I deal with you?"

"After all, your Devil Fruit ability is quite remarkable."

Benedict descended after Tyrant Bear repelled Yelü Siji, gazing at Tyrant Bear and saying.

Yelü Siji, maintaining his ape-like form, found some respite with Benedict's arrival.

Despite bearing the title of Tyrant, Bartholomew Kuma had displayed remarkable composure throughout the entire engagement.

However, his ability to launch someone and then vanish left Yelü Siji unsure of his subordinates' whereabouts.

Because of this, Yelü Siji fought Tyrant Bear with all his might.

Unfortunately, Tyrant Bear's combat prowess exceeded his expectations.

Most of his attacks were easily parried.

Bartholomew Kuma slowly raised his head, looking at Benedict, and said, "That was not a very friendly past."

"But, I had unavoidable reasons."

Bartholomew Kuma's response was remarkably calm, as if discussing a trivial matter.

"Is it for Vegapunk?" Benedict frowned, then stated plainly.

"Are you going to save him, or kill him?"

A flicker of emotion appeared in Bartholomew Kuma's calm gaze.

Bartholomew Kuma did not know how Benedict had found out.

His joining the Seven Warlords and his agreement with the Five Elders had indeed been for Vegapunk.

"Vegapunk is not as simple as you imagine."

"If I find him, I will kill him,"

Benedict said indifferently.

Bartholomew Kuma's gaze darkened slightly, evidently touched, or even angered, by Benedict's words.

This was because Bartholomew Kuma's objective was to protect and save Vegapunk.

"It seems we are adversaries."

Seeing Bartholomew Kuma's expression, Benedict knew their goals would not align.

He dove down.

A punch was delivered.

"Ursus Shock!"

Bartholomew Kuma dared not underestimate the attack, and with constant pats of his palms, he unleashed bear-paw shaped air cannons towards Benedict.

However, Benedict's punch displayed no fear of their power. The air cannons in front of him all exploded, yet they did not impede Benedict even for a moment.

*Bang!*

Bartholomew Kuma caught Benedict's punch with his fleshy palm, and at the moment of contact, a powerful shockwave erupted.

Bartholomew Kuma was sent flying.

Benedict, however, retreated two or three steps.

Benedict's gaze was cold. He pushed off the ground with his right foot and flew out, catching up to Bartholomew Kuma in no time.

Another punch.

Bartholomew Kuma's abdomen was hit by a punch, and he crashed to the ground.

Strike while the iron is hot.

Benedict followed closely and delivered another punch.

Just then, a gust of wind swept through, and a figure appeared.

"Dragon Fist!"

Their two fists collided, and a strong wind surged behind the newcomer, pushing him back.

However, as he retreated, he took Bartholomew Kuma with him.

"Monkey D. Dragon."

Benedict looked at the appearing Monkey D. Dragon and said calmly, "I didn't expect you to be here too."

"However, it's a pity that you are not participating in a battle like this."

Monkey D. Dragon heard this and chuckled, "This battlefield belongs to you, not me."

"But, it's not as if we've done nothing."

"At least, I've bought some time for your Xuanwu Navy."

Benedict was somewhat surprised by this.

"Oh, does the World Government have any other trump cards?"

Monkey D. Dragon nodded gravely, then extended his hand, revealing two gruesome wounds.

An indented chest cavity and a deep, bone-exposing slash.

Given Monkey D. Dragon's strength and Devil Fruit abilities, the fact that he sustained such severe injuries meant his assailant was undoubtedly powerful.

However, in Benedict's view, this did not prove anything.

It was not surprising that the World Government was still hiding powerful individuals.

In Benedict's estimation, even those five old men of the Five Elders possessed SS-class combat power.

"The World Government's Science Division is their strongest asset."

"The Navy is merely a blade they brandish openly." Monkey D. Dragon covered himself again with his black robe and added, "Kuma is my man."

"I request Marshal Benedict to show leniency."

Benedict pondered for a moment, then said sternly, "Then you must know who is heading this Science Division."

Monkey D. Dragon fell silent for a moment.

Who exactly was leading the Science Division.

He knew, and had even interacted with the person.

"It's not just Vegapunk who is in charge of the Science Division."

"He also has unavoidable reasons,"

Monkey D. Dragon explained after some hesitation.

"But, according to the intelligence I've gathered, Vegapunk has participated in many experiments, including research on cyborgs."

"Regardless of his original intentions, their experiments are bloody and indifferent."

"Moreover, the results of their research are utilized by the World Government."

"Cyborgs, Seraphim, and unknown scientific research."

"Is such a person an enemy? Or an ally?"
