Chapter 131: Ch 131 : The Hunt Begins

The movie of the past continued to play before Sunny’s soul, a silent, relentless film of cosmic tragedy. He was now watching the beginning of the end, the first moves in a game so vast and cruel that it would ultimately consume billions of gods.

"It’s time to hunt Gods like dogs," Deimos whispered to the void, his form newly reborn, unbound by any oath. His eyes, burning with ancient malice, scanned the swirling tapestry of the multiverses.

He did not seek the strongest, not yet. His power, though immense, fed on weakness. He was a predator who targeted the fringes of the herd.

"Let’s start with the weakest," he mused, a cruel smile twisting his lips, "and let the discord begin."

He slipped into a multiverse so small it was barely a flicker of light in the grand cosmos. He knew a smaller realm meant weaker Gods, and weaker Gods had souls filled with cracks for his poison to seep into. Within hours, the capital world of this small universe, a place that had known peace for millennia, was in flames.

"How? What are you all doing?!" the True God of this multiverse screamed, his voice a chorus of rage and heartbreak. He stood on the balcony of his celestial palace, watching in horror as his own subordinate Gods tore each other apart in the streets below. A third of his pantheon had descended into a rabid, chaotic madness.

A God, his closest and most trusted advisor, appeared behind him, his head bowed respectfully. "Master, they fight because of old grudges. They fear the coming war with the demon gods and wish to settle their scores before they are sent to die."

As he spoke, the advisor’s hand moved with imperceptible speed. A tiny worm, a creature of pure shadow, dropped from his sleeve and burrowed into the True God’s divine form.

"From now on, I am the True God of this multiverse," the advisor declared, his voice suddenly echoing with the manic laughter of the other traitors.

"Do you think this little parasite can kill me?" the True God said, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous calm. He turned, his eyes filled not with fear, but with a profound, weary sadness. Another of his most beloved students appeared behind the first, her hands dripping with a sizzling, green liquid. She hurled it at him.

"And do you think this little essence of Corrosion is enough?" he sighed, the acidic substance dissolving harmlessly against his radiant aura. He looked past his treacherous students, his gaze seeming to pierce through reality itself, locking onto the hidden form of Deimos.

"And to the demon god who caused this," he said, his voice now resonating with a power that Deimos had not anticipated. "Even though I can’t see you, I know you are listening. So listen carefully. This is my multiverse, and your cheap tricks will not work here."

An aura of pure peace erupted from the True God. It was not a weapon of force, but a wave of absolute serenity that washed over the entire multiverse. The rage in the battling Gods evaporated, replaced by confusion and shame. The whispers of discord in their minds were silenced, drowned out by a feeling of profound tranquility.

From the shadows between universes, Deimos clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Tch, a bad matchup from the start." A God whose very nature was a direct counter to his own. He wasted no more time and vanished, leaving the True God to mend his fractured kingdom.

The God immediately sent a warning through an ancient artifact, a message that rippled out to the neighboring multiverses: Beware a demon god who can turn brother against brother. They heard the warning, but they could not possibly comprehend the truth. They assumed it was a powerful demon God, never dreaming that a Demon Lord, a being they believed bound by an unbreakable oath, was once again walking among them.

"Just a little more power," Deimos mused as he sought his next target, "and I will be strong enough to cause discord even among the True Gods."

Sunny watched this, a cold knot forming in his soul. He saw Deimos’s strategy with terrifying clarity. It was a slow, methodical infection. The demon lord visited one multiverse after another, planting seeds of doubt and paranoia, then leaving before the true chaos erupted.

The Gods, sensing a new threat, did exactly what Deimos had hoped. They began to merge their multiverses, combining their strength, huddling together for safety. They built a grand fortress of unity, unaware that Deimos had already placed a traitor inside every wall.

"Now, for phase two of my plan," Deimos laughed, and slipped into a newly merged multiverse, a powerful realm now ruled by a council of four True Gods.

He chose his target: a God whose pride was as vast as his power. For an entire day, Deimos whispered into his soul, his voice a subtle poison that fed the God’s deepest insecurities. "Who among you four is the strongest?" the whisper began.

"Of course, it is I," the God replied to the empty air, his voice full of casual arrogance.

"I don’t believe it. The other three look much tougher."

"Why don’t you believe me?!" the God roared, his pride stung.

The conversation went on for a full day, the longest and most patient seduction in the history of the cosmos. By the second day, the God was fully corrupted.

During a high council meeting, as his three brothers discussed strategies against the demons, he struck. He moved with the speed of a striking viper, his divine weapon piercing the heart of another True God before anyone could even react.

The moment the True God died, the entire cosmos shook. It was not a physical tremor, but a spiritual one, the sound of a pillar of reality collapsing. In the Heaven realm, Adam felt it, his face turning grim. "It has been billions of years since I last felt the cosmos weep," he whispered.

The corrupted God stood over the body of his fallen brother, his own power surging as he absorbed the dead God’s essence. But the whispers of Deimos were not finished. "You are really strong. But what about the other two? Are you afraid of them?"

"Afraid?" the God snarled, his eyes burning with a new, terrifying madness. "I am not afraid of anyone. Just you watch. Watch how I kill them all." He turned, his gaze falling upon the two remaining True Gods, who could only stare in horror, their minds unable to process the sudden, brutal betrayal. The real war had just begun.
