Chapter 365 The Dashing Young Master

Gu Susu lay on the bed, closing her eyes, feeling tired. Ya Nan thought she must be exhausted from the move, which had triggered her condition again. Ya Nan was also worried; what if her episodes happened outside, and she didn't always meet someone as kind as Sister Jing? What if she encountered a bad person or got lost?

When Gu Susu woke up, she couldn't remember how she ended up in bed. However, she did recall that she and Ya Nan had just moved.

Ya Nan had fallen asleep by her side, but lightly. She woke up at the slightest sound and, seeing Susu's eyes return to normal, quickly asked, "Do you remember who I am?"

"Ya Nan, did I have another episode of intermittent amnesia?"

Ya Nan breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "My dear aunt, I'm just glad you're okay. I really think you should go to the hospital for a check-up. I'm afraid if this happens to you on the street alone, you could be abducted with no one able to help."

Gu Susu didn't want to waste time at the hospital. She said, "Huo Jin and Chang Qingchuan had the best doctors look at me before, and they couldn't do anything. What difference will a hospital here make? Don't worry, I promise it won't happen again. I'll be fine."

"Your promise isn't enough," Ya Nan said, very worried. She took a sign she had written out from the table and handed it to Susu. "Carry this with you, keep it in your bag. If you lose your memory and don't know how to get back, if a kind person sees this, they can contact me, and you won't get lost."

Gu Susu touched by Ya Nan's gesture, accepted the sign with their home address, Ya Nan's contact information, and her own name. "Okay, I'll carry it with me. Don't worry, we just moved into a new home today, we should be happy. Come on, let's go out and celebrate."

Ya Nan finally managed a smile, hoping Susu would never experience intermittent amnesia again. Speaking of which, Yang Sijie was the most detestable.

If she ever had the chance to face Yang Sijie, she would definitely slap him twice. Susu had been perfectly fine before he harmed her to this extent. He was simply a mentally unstable madman.

...

The next morning, Huo Jin joined her parents for breakfast as usual. At that moment, she heard a maid exclaim in surprise, "Young master, young master... good morning."

Huo Zheng, dressed in silk pajamas, walked down from his upstairs bedroom and entered the dining room. He greeted them, "Dad, Mom, Sis, good morning," before sitting down in an empty chair.

The maid quickly placed a clean set of cutlery in front of him.

Not only the household staff but also Huo Liangcheng, his wife, and Huo Jin stared at him as if he were a monster.

His usual routine was to be active at night and sleep during the day. Waking up in the morning and dining with them was as unusual as the sun rising in the west.

Huo Liangcheng was the first to regain his composure. He completely ignored Huo Zheng and continued to enjoy his breakfast. With a son like this, he had nothing more to say.

Mrs. Huo, Li Qianru, watched him with a smile. It made her very happy to have the family gathered together for breakfast.

Huo Jin still couldn't believe he was up so early. She said, "Huo Zheng, are you sick? Are you getting up so early to rush to the hospital?"

Her words made Li Qianru instantly nervous. She reached out to touch Huo Zheng's forehead. "Zheng'er, are you sick? Don't be afraid, Mom will take you to the hospital."

Huo Zheng looked impatiently at Huo Jin. "Who's sick? You're sick! Stop cursing me, I'm perfectly healthy."

Li Qianru breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Why are you speaking to your sister like that? It's good that you're not sick."

Huo Jin cut a piece of sandwich and put it in her mouth. She looked at him and said curiously, "If you're not rushing to the hospital for an early appointment, then why are you getting up so early?"

Huo Zheng glared at Huo Jin, meaning for her to say less. Then, he cautiously looked at Huo Liangcheng and said, "Dad, I want to do something serious."

His words made the whole family gasp in disbelief.

Huo Jin wondered to herself if her brother had truly turned over a new leaf.

Huo Liangcheng, who had just taken a sip of milk, almost choked. However, his stern expression remained unchanged. He asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Dad, I want to start my own company," Huo Zheng blurted out.

Huo Liangcheng asked coldly, "Why?"

Huo Zheng knew his father would ask this and had already prepared his reason. "I've recently discovered that the housekeeping company has great prospects. The housekeeping industry has huge market potential and is a guaranteed profit..."

Huo Liangcheng was unmoved. He had finished eating and elegantly wiped his mouth. He stood up and said, "I can fund you to start a company, but you need to prepare a feasibility report and a market research report and submit them to my secretary. I will have professionals evaluate it. If it's truly a guaranteed profit, I won't object."

With that, he signaled for the family driver to get the car, picked up his briefcase, and turned to leave the dining room.

After watching her father leave the house, Huo Jin said to Huo Zheng, "Why do you suddenly want to start a housekeeping company? Are you bored because Dad hasn't been managing you lately?"

"Sis, why do you and Mom look at me like that when I do anything?" Huo Zheng said with a straight face. "I'm serious. I want to do something."

Li Qianru asked with confusion, "Then you could help out at the group. Why start your own housekeeping company? Housekeeping is dirty and tiring. Can you handle that hardship?"

Of course, she hoped her son would do something productive. But no matter how strict Huo Liangcheng was, or how much she pleaded, this unpromising boy remained incorrigible.

They had stopped expecting much from him, only hoping he wouldn't cause any major trouble.

But they never expected that this child would get up so early today, as if possessed, and immediately say he wanted to do something serious and start a company.

Huo Zheng immediately said, "I don't want to work under the old man's nose. How can I accomplish anything if I'm constantly worried?"

Huo Jin agreed with this point.

Huo Liangcheng had served in the army when he was young, which instilled in him a soldier's character. He was upright and principled, and he wouldn't lecture much; he only believed in the "rod of discipline" education.

Both she and Huo Zheng had been beaten quite a bit when they were young. She remembered that when she made mistakes as a child, even though she was a girl, her father wouldn't go easy on her.

Once, he beat her so badly that her skin was torn, and her clothes stuck to the wounds. Her mother cried watching, too afraid to apply medicine.

Her father, however, decisively ripped off the clothes stuck to the wounds, which tore away skin and flesh. It almost killed her with pain.

Fortunately, Huo Zheng was more mischievous and troublesome than she was, so her father applied the "spare the rod and spoil the child" philosophy entirely to Huo Zheng, and she escaped many hardships.

But it turned out that her father's method of discipline didn't produce an obedient son; it produced a playboy.

In recent years, her father had probably completely given up on Huo Zheng and stopped enforcing family discipline on him, letting him indulge in his extravagant lifestyle, turning a blind eye.

Because Huo Zheng's schedule was so erratic, Huo Liangcheng and Huo Zheng rarely encountered each other at home, and both were content with the distance.
