Chapter 751 Someone Outside

Tian Yi, however, became even more audacious. "Did you move the entire bed onto the floor? Nice! Let's try how the floor feels."

"Hey, my bones are about to break, and you're still joking around." Susu pushed him away, genuinely feeling as though her entire body would fall apart if he continued to press down on her.

Tian Yi stopped pressing her and rolled over, lying on his back. "I'm not afraid of my bones breaking. Go ahead and press me."

Susu found it amusing. She struggled to sit up and was about to tease him a few words when she realized he had somehow managed to strip himself bare.

Her face immediately flushed with embarrassment. She clenched her fists and lightly punched his chest. "Oh my goodness, you, when did you undress..."

He grabbed her fist and pulled her. The bedroom door was suddenly pushed open from the outside. Chen Ma's voice called out, "Young Master, Young Madam, are you awake? It's almost noon..."

Susu was flustered and quickly grabbed a nearby quilt to cover Tian Yi's important parts.

Chen Ma also took a moment to realize they were lying on the floor, seemingly unclothed. She immediately gasped, "Oh my! I didn't see anything. This door wasn't closed; it was half-open."

Then, Chen Ma turned her back and hurried downstairs.

Susu, angered, wrapped the quilt tightly around him and stared at him coldly. "This is all your doing. You're so annoying!"

She got up, unwilling to deal with him, and went to the bathroom to wash up first.

Tian Yi pulled the quilt off himself, sat up, and chuckled. "Chen Ma has seen it all at her age. She even raised me when I was little. What's there to be afraid of her appreciating us?"

Susu forcefully closed the bathroom door, thinking about how ridiculous he looked when Chen Ma saw him. He was still being stubborn, and she couldn't help but snicker.

But as soon as she started brushing her teeth, she suddenly remembered if she had closed the door after bringing in the hangover tea last night.

Impossible, she thought. She remembered closing the door, just not locking it.

Perhaps it wasn't fully latched, and the door had slid open halfway on its own. But she also felt like she had secured it, though she couldn't recall the specifics.

She put the thought aside and quickly brushed her teeth and washed her face. It was already past noon, and there was still a lot of work waiting for her at the studio.

Tian Yi put on his clothes and tidied his hair with his fingers. He knew he had been embarrassed just now, and his earlier mood was completely ruined.

He was feeling a bit dejected when he noticed his phone vibrating.

"Hello."

"Mr. Qin? The land sale contract you requested has been drafted. We can arrange a time to sign with the other party at your convenience."

Tian Yi hummed in response. "Okay, I'll let you know once we've arranged a time."

After hanging up, he felt it was best to finalize the contract with Xie Qining as soon as possible. He wondered about the situation with Xiao Anjing.

An Jing had been even more drunk than him last night; it was highly likely he'd have to arrange it for tomorrow.

However, he still tried calling An Jing's phone.

...

Not long after, the takeout arrived. An Jing and Lan Yu sat opposite each other, silently eating the xiaolongbao and black rice porridge that An Jing had ordered.

Lan Yu recalled Susu's suggestion that they should have a good talk and tried to figure out how to start.

An Jing assumed she was still thinking about the divorce and considered her care last night to be mere pity.

Given her kind nature, she would probably help a stranger drunk on the street. What difference was there between him and those drunkards?

"Why did you drink so much last night? Don't you know drinking is bad for your health?" Lan Yu spoke first.

"I drank a bit too much out of happiness," An Jing replied casually, but his mood inexplicably became irritable again.

Lan Yu looked up at him in surprise, not understanding what had made him so happy.

An Jing met her gaze for a second and said coldly, "Why are you looking at me like that? What does my drinking have to do with you? Aren't you planning to divorce me anyway?"

"I actually... actually..." Lan Yu looked at his cold face and couldn't continue.

"Actually what?" An Jing thought she was going to ask about the divorce agreement again. He said, "I've been a bit busy these past couple of days. Once I'm done with this land deal, I'll have the lawyer draft the agreement."

Lan Yu steeled herself. To prove her suspicion, her heart pounding in her chest, she asked, "You don't object to the divorce, do you? Is it because there's someone else?"

An Jing clenched the chopsticks in his hand and said inexplicably, "What someone else? What do you mean?"

"That day, I saw lipstick on your shirt and smelled perfume," Lan Yu quickly voiced her doubts, her breathing becoming increasingly tense.

She was afraid. Afraid that he would admit it so readily, which would mean their relationship was truly over, with no chance of reconciliation.

An Jing suddenly understood what she was talking about. He had intended to explain that day, but she had suddenly produced the handwritten divorce agreement, and he had forgotten to explain.

But she wasn't divorcing him solely over this; that divorce agreement had been written beforehand.

"Yes, that night I was..."

Before An Jing could finish, his phone rang, interrupting him.

He immediately reached for his phone to answer the call. Lan Yu sat alone at the dining table, letting out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, the call had interrupted their conversation. She could sense that An Jing was about to confess.

If he had admitted it so openly, it would have been incredibly cruel to her.

"Is something wrong, Tian Yi? I have to go to the group late today too," Xiao An Jing said as soon as he answered the phone.

Qin Tian Yi asked, "Are you sober yet? Did Lan Yu take good care of you last night?"

"Why didn't you send me to a hotel? You're that stingy?" An Jing felt a headache coming on.

Lan Yu, focused on the divorce, had left him with no escape.

"Stop being so dramatic. Where else can you be taken care of better than by your own wife?" Tian Yi got to the point. "The lawyer has drafted the contract for that land. When should we arrange to meet Xie Qining for the signing?"

An Jing immediately became serious. "Of course, the sooner the better. I'm heading to the group now. I'll call him from my office once I get there."

"Okay, we're on the same page. I'll be there shortly too. See you in the office then," Tian Yi said before hanging up.

An Jing simply changed his clothes in the bedroom and hurried out. He instructed Lan Yu, "There's an urgent matter at the company. Eat by yourself. You don't need to wait for me tonight."

Lan Yu watched his retreating back, tears inevitably falling from her eyes.

What did he mean by not waiting for him tonight? Was he going to spend the night with another woman?

Her reluctance and deep affection for him... all of it had become a colossal joke.

...

Susu came out of the bathroom and saw that he had just finished a phone call. She asked, "Did the group need something from you?"

"Yes, I'm heading there now." As he spoke, he walked towards Susu again, putting his arm around her waist, still regretting the failed attempt earlier.

Susu smiled and stood on her tiptoes, hooking her arms around his neck. "How was An Jing last night? Did you really have to get yourself drunk to accompany him?"

"It's because of our deep brotherhood."

"If you truly cared for him, you should have advised him to drink less," Susu said. "I've completed my mission perfectly. I've already persuaded Lan Yu to give your brother another chance."
