She thought Tianyi was currently angry and it was better to let him calm down on his own.
Susu lay alone on the large bed, her eyes closed, but she tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
After an unknown amount of time, she heard a slight noise from the bedroom door and immediately sat up.
The door was slowly opened, and Tianyi finally walked in. She couldn't help but look at him joyfully and say, "Husband, listen to my explanation..."
Tianyi, however, forcefully pinned her down on the bed, radiating a chilling aura.
He stared into her eyes and asked, "Why didn't you tell me the truth when you came back that night?"
Susu felt a pain in her bones from being pressed down and said with difficulty, "When Mrs. Huang and the others invited me, I didn't know what kind of place the club was. I thought it was just a place for dinner and chatting."
Tianyi questioned again, "Surrounded by so many handsome men, didn't you feel tempted?"
"No, not at all," Susu quickly explained. "I was terrified. When they surrounded me... I just ran."
Tianyi's tense face suddenly broke into a smile. "You have so little courage, you're useless."
Susu was stunned, not understanding how he could smile. Was this laughter born of extreme anger?
"You... do you actually want me to be tempted by those handsome men?"
"You dare!" Tianyi released her and pulled her into his arms as he lay on his side. "I believe you, that you won't mess around outside."
Susu felt as if she had received a general amnesty and relaxed her entire body, but she immediately felt something was wrong. She pushed him away fiercely and said, "Qin Tianyi! You deliberately scared me!"
"You finally figured it out," Tianyi said, tightening his arm around her. "Little dummy."
Susu struggled and said, "Is this how you play tricks on people? You don't come back for dinner without a word, you don't answer my calls, and when you returned, your face was so long, you almost gave me a heart attack."
"Who told you you're always so silly," Tianyi said, his breath hot and heavy as he kissed her possessively.
After their intimacy, Tianyi closed his eyes, feeling a little tired. Susu lay beside him, holding him tightly and said, "Mrs. Huang and the others are deliberately retaliating. They embezzled a lot of charity funds, and I want to get justice..."
"I know all about it," Tianyi said, not letting her finish, and held her tightly. "Don't worry about this matter, I'll handle it."
Susu pushed against him and said, "Mr. Qin, can you stop doing this? The orphanage charity fund has always been something I've managed myself. Now that there's a problem, let me solve it myself. Don't interfere! Believe in me!"
Tianyi opened his eyes and looked at her. In fact, when he saw the photo that morning, he had already believed that she wouldn't go to such places for fun.
He was just angry that she hadn't told him the truth when she returned that day. He had already had people investigate throughout the day.
That photo was taken by Mrs. Huang and the others, but the person who posted it online was likely not them. It still needed to be investigated who it was.
But seeing that Susu didn't want him to interfere with this matter and wanted to solve it herself, he hesitated for a moment and chose to believe in her ability.
Believing in her was also respecting her. He agreed, saying, "Okay, I won't interfere. I believe you can solve it yourself."
Susu smiled and kissed him proactively. Looking at him, she knew he had learned how to love and be loved.
When she woke up, tomorrow would be a new day. Life would go on, and difficulties and challenges would always follow. She believed they would face it together, hand in hand, and their lives would get better and better...
(The End)
Epilogue:
After Mengyao and Song Jiaping held a simple wedding, they began their honeymoon.
They traveled to many places and returned to the place where they fell in love.
There was no longer any war there. In the afterglow of the sunset, Mengyao and Song Jiaping sat shoulder to shoulder on the rooftop of what was once a field hospital, watching the distant sunset clouds together.
"Darling, we've been traveling for a year and seen so many beautiful sights. Where do you want to go next?" Song Jiaping asked her gently.
Mengyao opened her phone and showed him the completed application form, saying, "I've already applied to be a battlefield doctor here. Do you want to go with me?"
"Of course, I'll go wherever you go." Song Jiaping immediately asked her for the website and submitted his application as well.
Mengyao hugged his neck and said, "We're still young. This year of travel has helped me overcome those shadows. The world is so beautiful. I think we should continue to save lives and heal the wounded, not waste our medical skills."
"What you're thinking is exactly what I'm thinking. It's been a long time since I picked up a scalpel, and I've been itching to do so," Song Jiaping stared at her, mesmerized. "You are a sweet angel. I love you."
"I love you too."
...
Daisy sat in a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown with a three-year-old boy.
"Mommy, I'm hungry. Can we eat now?" the little boy whined, acting spoiled.
She stroked the child's head and said, "Wait a moment, Auntie will be here soon."
As soon as she finished speaking, Huangfu Mengqi entered the restaurant pushing a baby stroller.
Daisy recognized her at a glance and waved to her.
Mengqi walked over, sat down, and gently played with the one-year-old daughter in the stroller, smiling and saying, "Daisy, have you been waiting long?"
"No, we just arrived," Daisy said, tugging at the boy beside her. "Shaocheng, say hello. This is Auntie."
"Hello, Auntie."
The boy had eyes that were exactly like Shaohua's. Mengqi quickly asked, "What did you just call him?"
Daisy said, "He is Huangfu Shaocheng, the continuation of Shaohua's life."
"That's wonderful, such a good name," Mengqi couldn't help but think of Shaohua, her eyes reddening.
Daisy looked at the little girl in the stroller and, no longer dwelling on sad memories, asked, "Eldest sister, is this your daughter? She's so cute."
As she spoke, she picked up a toy hanging from the stroller and made the little girl laugh.
Mengqi looked at the menu and said, "Shaocheng must be hungry. Let's order first, and we can talk while we eat."
Daisy had also received Mengqi's call just two days ago.
When she first received her call, Daisy was very nervous, afraid that she had come to cause trouble.
But after talking with Mengqi on the phone, she realized that Mengqi just wanted to see the child.
The Huangfu family was no longer as glorious in Lancheng as before, and Huangfu Group had become Xiao Group.
Daisy was no longer afraid that the Huangfu family would take her child away. Knowing that Mengqi had no ill intentions, she readily agreed.
They had a pleasant meal together. When they parted, Mengqi repeatedly instructed her, "When you have time, let's bring the children and visit often. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask."
"Okay," Daisy replied.
But she didn't need anything now. She felt that she and her child were living well and were already very content to be dependent on each other.
Occasionally, when she thought of Shaohua, she would still feel sad. However, watching her child grow day by day, the sense of comfort had far surpassed the sadness.
"Mommy, who is Auntie? She's very nice to me, I like her," Shaocheng said, holding her hand.
Daisy looked down at the child and smiled. "Auntie is Daddy's sister, and the person most closely related to you besides Mommy."
"Then where is Daddy? Why hasn't he come to see me yet?"
"He's in heaven, always watching us." Daisy picked up Shaocheng and looked up at the clear blue sky, as if Shaohua were still alive and warm in heaven, always smiling down at them.
She thought that for her child, she shouldn't trap herself in sorrow anymore. Stepping out, life could still be bright.
