Valley of the Dead.
This was a forbidden zone of legend, whispered to be home to numerous deathly monsters. Some were said to be specters, others the lingering resentment of those slain by mages, and some the venom of demonic beasts.
In essence, it was the epitome of a deathly forbidden land.
Here, any living being was forbidden to approach the Valley of the Dead by even half a step.
Rumor had it that a thousand years ago, an incredibly powerful being resided here, ruling the entire world. But one day, that being vanished, and after its disappearance, the Valley of the Dead became exceedingly perilous.
It was said that within the Valley of the Dead existed a most mysterious monster, incredibly potent, even comparable to Saint-level powerhouses. This creature's specialty was the manipulation of death energy.
Legends claimed that deep within the Valley of the Dead, countless corpses lay buried, all human. Many were also from the demon race, the most famous among them being the carcass of a colossal lizard.
There was a tale of a mighty human expert who once built a formidable palace here, fortifying it with numerous restrictive formations, sealing it impenetrably.
However, one day, that human expert met an untimely demise in this forbidden territory. After his death, the palace was destroyed, and all its contents were taken.
A saying also circulated within the Valley of the Dead: "This place is a graveyard!"
It was rumored that this forbidden land harbored countless vengeful souls and malevolent spirits, even mythical creatures of legend. These legendary beings were said to possess terrifying power, some even surpassing the might of Saint-level beings. Whether true or not, their strength was undeniably close to that of Saints. In such a place, no one dared to approach carelessly, for one could never predict when they might encounter a horde of monsters or their cohorts. These creatures numbered well over ten thousand, their power so formidable it could rival gods.
While these rumors held truth, they were not entirely accurate, for they were mere legends. No one knew their veracity, but the Valley of the Dead contained endless dangers, teeming with perils. Some of these monsters could easily lay waste to an entire city.
When Xia Feng and his companions arrived, the outskirts of the Valley of the Dead were crowded with many people.
Though they dared not venture inside, they camped outside, hoping to stumble upon unexpected opportunities.
“Young Master, this is the Valley of the Dead,” Li Yurou said, pointing towards the entrance.
Li Yurou and her group drew the attention of many, turning heads their way.
Beauty, wherever it appeared, was always the most eye-catching.
Just like in the current world, the appearance of beautiful women always garnered a multitude of gazes.
Some were envious, others lecherous, the reactions endless.
“Let’s go in directly,” Xia Feng nodded.
“Okay.” Li Yurou responded, a hint of excitement in her voice. They were finally going to enter the Valley of the Dead.
Despite the crowd gathered at the entrance, very few dared to actually enter.
“What are these people doing? They’re heading deeper into the Valley of the Dead.”
“Are they really going into the Valley of the Dead?”
“Probably not. Just these young ones, with only one man. They wouldn’t dare go inside.”
“Exactly. So many delicate young ladies. It would be a terrible waste if they all became prey to the monsters in the valley.”
Amidst the murmuring crowd, Xia Feng led his group into the Valley of the Dead.
It wasn’t until Xia Feng and his companions had disappeared inside that people reacted.
They had actually entered the Valley of the Dead?
Everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief. One person shouted:
“Quick, quick, go inform the superiors that someone has entered the valley.”
