Chapter 203 An Unexpected Gain

"His leg is quite serious; there's little hope of recovery!"

Wan Yunting feigned a thorough examination of Guo Kainian's legs. In just one day, the calf muscles in his feet had spasmed and contracted, bulging out in raised lines like giant earthworms writhing beneath his skin, appearing a dark purplish-blue. The sight was terrifying, drawing looks of disgust from Nurse Yan and the other nurses.

"Dad, I told you he wouldn't be able to cure my condition."

Guo Kainian glared fiercely at Wan Yunting, then turned to Guo Liang. "Dad, I want to go abroad for treatment. I refuse to believe that the experts at those big foreign hospitals can't fix my leg."

"Heh heh…"

Wan Yunting chuckled indifferently and turned to walk upstairs. But Guo Liang quickly called him back. As Wan Yunting turned, Guo Liang walked up and said, "Dr. Wan, I know you cured Old Master Fang's legs, which were crippled to a first-degree level. I'm sure you have a way to treat my son's leg condition."

Wan Yunting looked at him and suddenly smiled. "Mr. Guo, what's your relationship with my father like?"

"Very good."

Guo Liang answered without hesitation.

Wan Yunting narrowed his eyes. Guo Liang continued, "I don't know if you ever found the car accident involving your parents that year suspicious, but I've always believed that Wan Tielin was murdered!"

Wan Yunting's expression shifted, his sharp gaze fixed on Guo Liang.

Wan Yunting couldn't possibly know all of his father's friends in the business world. However, Guo Liang's statement indicated that he had been quite close to his father.

"Sister Yan, please take him to my consultation room."

Wan Yunting then gestured towards Guo Kainian, who was in the wheelchair, to the head nurse, Sister Yan.

"Mr. Guo, shall we talk upstairs?"

Wan Yunting invited Guo Liang to the second floor, but they didn't go to the consultation room. Instead, in the corridor outside, he offered Guo Liang a cigarette. "Mr. Guo, I didn't understand what you meant just now. On what grounds do you say the car accident that killed my parents wasn't an accident but a murder?"

"Because your father offended someone back then!"

Guo Liang didn't light the cigarette, clearly a non-smoker. Wan Yunting, who was lighting his, showed surprise. "My father offended someone? Who?"

Guo Liang said, "Do you know that your father had a conflict with a young man named Gao Zhe at a private party hosted by the richest man, Kang Hongwen?"

Wan Yunting shook his head slightly. He feigned ignorance, wanting to hear how much Guo Liang knew about the incident. "Gao Zhe, who is he?"

Guo Liang replied, "Gao Zhe is from the Gao family in Shenzhen, and he's the grandson of the chairman of the Gao Group. He must have been only nineteen that year. I think Cheng Kai and the others brought him to the party."

"At that time, I was discussing a cooperation with your father, Wan Tielin, and didn't pay much attention to Gao Zhe and Cheng Kai. However, when your father went to get some wine, he accidentally bumped into that Gao Zhe, spilling wine on him. That Gao Zhe immediately pushed your father angrily, causing him to fall to the ground, and he spoke disrespectfully, with a very arrogant and overbearing attitude."

"Your father, Wan Tielin, was very angry and got into an argument with him. In the end, that Gao Zhe threatened to kill your father!"

Wan Yunting raised an eyebrow. Guo Liang's account was consistent with what Lei Jun and Kang Hongwen had said earlier. "Then why are you so sure that he killed my parents?"

"Because he went to find your father privately the next day!" Guo Liang said.

"Mm."

Wan Yunting's heart trembled. He asked, "How do you know?"

"Because the next day at noon, I invited your father to lunch to discuss cooperation. That Gao Zhe directly came to find your father and arrogantly demanded that your father kneel and apologize to him, uttering insults!" Guo Liang glared, still remembering the young man, Gao Zhe, with disdain for his youthful recklessness and arrogance.

"But you know what kind of person your father was, so naturally, he ignored him. However, that Gao Zhe was truly too arrogant; he immediately picked up a wine glass and smashed it towards your father's head, and then, with a smug attitude, once again said he would kill your father!"

Wan Yunting's face darkened. From the accounts of Lei Jun and Kang Hongwen, he had already confirmed that Gao Zhe was responsible for his parents' car accident that year. But now, he learned from Guo Liang about Gao Zhe's second encounter with his father.

"That Gao Zhe was a spoiled rich kid from a powerful family, young and impulsive, capable of anything. So, at the time, I thought that kid would definitely do something outrageous to your father."

Guo Liang sighed. "As a result, three days later, the news broke about your parents' fatal car accident. This further solidified my suspicion that there was definitely something wrong!"

Wan Yunting nodded. Having calmed down, he asked, "Mr. Guo, do you know what that Gao Zhe is doing now?"

Guo Liang shook his head slightly. "I learned from their Gao family that Gao Zhe has been abroad and rarely appears in China, so I'm not very clear."

Wan Yunting raised an eyebrow. "You know the Gao family?"

Guo Liang nodded. "Last year, I had an overseas cooperation project with Shenzhen's Gao Group, so I'm somewhat familiar with their family. However, the Gao Group's marketing department general manager I dealt with, Gao Jiaming, is Gao Zhe's father, meaning he is the fourth brother of their company president, Gao Zhixiong. And their company chairman is their father, Gao Tianhe."

"Mm, Gao Wencheng, the mayor of Shenzhen, is Gao Tianhe's second son!"

As expected, it was a powerful family. Having a son who was the mayor, no wonder their Gao family had become the leading conglomerate in Shenzhen's business circles.

"Coincidentally, tomorrow Gao Jiaming is coming to Huadu to inspect our company's products and market!" Guo Liang said.

"Oh."

This made Wan Yunting excited internally, but he showed no outward reaction. "Mr. Guo, since you've brought this up, I won't hide it from you either. I'm currently investigating the cause of my parents' car accident and have found some clues. Therefore, I suspect that the accident was deliberate!"

Guo Liang nodded, understanding Wan Yunting's implication, and then asked, "Is there still hope for my son's leg?"

"Yes!"

Wan Yunting nodded with a smile. After all, he was the one who had caused the problem.

He had initially just wanted to teach Guo Kainian a lesson, but he hadn't expected his father to bring him such a significant opportunity. So, Wan Yunting had to make his son's legs functional again.

"Good, you cure my son's leg, and tomorrow I'll take you to meet Gao Jiaming!" Guo Liang understood Wan Yunting's meaning and agreed readily.

After all, he greatly admired Wan Tielin and had a very good relationship with him. If not for that car accident, Guo Liang would have become close friends with Wan Tielin.

Now that he saw Wan Yunting investigating his parents' deaths, Guo Liang chose to help him, which was also a way to repay him for treating his son.

If Guo Liang knew that Wan Yunting was the one who had caused his son's leg condition, he would probably curse him to hell…
