"Sister Ke'er, don't go..."
It was past nine in the evening. Su Ke'er had to go back to work, but Wan'er, Wan Yunting's niece, grabbed her, begging her not to leave.
Wan Dongming and Wang Chulin, the couple who saw them to the door, could tell that their niece liked her third uncle's girlfriend. Su Ke'er crouched down, holding Wan'er's hand, and smiled, "Wan'er, be good. Sister has to go back to work. I'll come to play with you tomorrow when I'm free, okay?"
"Then I want to go to the amusement park, and Mommy too."
Wan'er pouted with a sad expression. Wan Yunting thought for a moment and then smiled, "Okay, in a couple of days, your third uncle will take you to see your mom, alright?"
"Okay!"
As soon as she heard she could see her mom, Wan'er happily clapped her hands.
However, Wan Dongming and Wang Chulin looked at Wan Yunting with concern. He smiled and gestured that they would talk about it later.
Under Wan'er's reluctant gaze, Wan Yunting watched Su Ke'er get into the car, and then drove her back to the hospital. The car soon stopped slowly at the hospital entrance. Su Ke'er turned her head and asked, "Are you going to live at your second brother's house from now on?"
Wan Yunting shook his head slightly and smiled, "I'm staying there temporarily for now."
"Alright, then I'm going back."
"Mm, go. Remember to eat something tonight." Wan Yunting smiled dotingly at her. Ke'er nodded sweetly, then pushed the car door open and got out, waving for him to go back quickly.
Seeing her enter the hospital, Wan Yunting drove back to Niu Qiuling's residence to pack his things and move to his second brother's place.
Su Ke'er was happily walking towards the dormitory building behind the hospital to change clothes and start her night shift. Suddenly, Su Xing'an, standing at the door of her dormitory room on the third floor with his hands resting on the railing and looking down at Su Ke'er, called out, "Back from a date with your temporary boyfriend?"
Su Ke'er's footsteps faltered. She looked up at her elder brother, her eyes widening. She pouted and huffed, "What are you doing here?"
Seeing his sister's indignant expression, Su Xing'an smiled, "It's nothing good for you, anyway!"
Su Ke'er froze, then quickly went upstairs. Looking at her brother, she huffed, "I'm telling you, there are only 7 days left. Don't go back on your word!"
"Alas..."
Su Xing'an sighed, pulled out the chat history with their father on his phone, and sent a voice message: "Bring Jiacheng home immediately. This is an order!"
"So, there's nothing I can do."
Su Xing'an spread his hands, feigning innocence. But Su Ke'er glared at him, angered, "I'm not going back. We agreed to give me half a month. How can you do this..."
"Ke'er, that was the time *I* gave you, not Dad. So you'd better accept your fate and come back with me tomorrow." Su Xing'an stopped joking and said with great helplessness.
"No, I'm not going back."
Su Ke'er opened the door and went in, then turned to glare at Su Xing'an, shouting angrily, "No matter what you do, I won't go back!"
*Bang!*
Su Xing'an was immediately shut out. Knowing he had broken his promise and upset his sister, he felt helpless. "How about this, I'll try to stall Dad again. I'll give you three more days to say goodbye to your temporary boyfriend. I'll come to pick you up then to go home for the Mid-Autumn Festival..."
Before he could finish speaking, he heard Ke'er crying. She had been sad, and upon hearing she only had three days left, Su Ke'er couldn't accept it.
"Then that's that."
Su Xing'an shook his head and sighed, then turned and went downstairs.
The reason for bringing Su Ke'er back earlier was that the Su family was going to announce something important during the Mid-Autumn Festival!
Meanwhile, Su Ke'er in her room clearly knew what she would have to face when she was taken home.
At this moment, Wan Yunting had no idea about this. He was driving back to the apartment building where Niu Qiuling lived. He happened to run into Niu Qiuling, who had just returned from shopping. "You're finally back?"
Wan Yunting looked at her carrying two large bags of things. "What did you buy? So much?"
"That's none of your business."
Niu Qiuling hid the bags behind her, earning a roll of Wan Yunting's eyes. He directly pressed the elevator button and said to Niu Qiuling, who followed him in, "Anyway, I'm moving out, so I won't be looking after you anymore."
"What did you say? Moving out?"
Niu Qiuling's large eyes widened. Wan Yunting nodded, "Yes, I'm going to stay at my second brother's place for a while to take care of my eldest sister's daughter. So I'm going up to pack my things and leave immediately."
As they entered the elevator, Niu Qiuling's face was grim, looking dejected and angry. She tightened her grip on the bags.
Wan Yunting turned to look at her and teased, "What? You don't want me to move out?"
Niu Qiuling turned and glared at him, then quickly averted her gaze. She said angrily, "Pfft, who wants you to stay? I wish you'd move out quickly, so my mom wouldn't misunderstand me every day..."
"Oh, I thought you'd miss me."
Wan Yunting deliberately looked at her for a moment, causing Niu Qiuling to glance at him uncomfortably. When the elevator doors opened, she quickly walked out with the bags and headed for her door. Wan Yunting smiled and followed, took out his keys, and opened the door. Niu Qiuling shot him a sideways glance and kicked the door open with her foot, clearly in a bad mood.
"Let me see what you bought..."
Wan Yunting followed, but Niu Qiuling glared at him fiercely, "Hurry up and pack your things and get out."
"Such a bad temper?"
Wan Yunting looked at her strangely.
Niu Qiuling snorted and carried her things into the kitchen, closing the door behind her.
This left Wan Yunting speechless. He couldn't be bothered with her and went to his room to pack his belongings.
In the kitchen, Niu Qiuling slammed the two bags onto the ground. She heard the sound of breaking eggs and hurriedly looked. Several of the eggs she had bought were broken. This made Niu Qiuling pout angrily, "You damn bastard, showing up and leaving whenever you please. Why don't you just die..."
She went to the balcony to collect the clothes, fold them, and put them into the suitcase. Seeing that there was nothing else, Wan Yunting carried it out. He saw that Niu Qiuling had already returned to her room and closed the door. "Then I'm leaving."
...There was no sound from inside. Wan Yunting called out, "I'm really leaving. I'll leave the keys on the table..."
Then the door opened, and Niu Qiuling, with a grim expression, huffed, "You can leave, but leave the rent for the days you've been staying here. Five thousand!"
Wan Yunting, who was about to put the keys down, turned to look at her. "Officer Niu, you really are asking for the moon. I've only stayed a few days, and you're demanding five thousand in rent."
"You're leaving early, so that's the price!" Niu Qiuling glared, hands on her hips, adopting a domineering stance.
"If you say that, then I really can't check out early then."
Saying this, Wan Yunting put the keys back. Niu Qiuling's heart skipped a beat, and she glanced at him with her big eyes. "When do you plan to come back to live here?"
Wan Yunting walked out the door and then turned back to her with a sly, wicked smile, "Whenever you want me back, I'll come back to live!"
These words made Niu Qiuling's cheeks flush instantly. Knowing that the man had seen through her thoughts, she was filled with embarrassed anger. "Who wants you to come back? Check out now, quickly, check out now..."
"I won't check out, I won't check out..."
Wan Yunting smirked wickedly. Seeing Niu Qiuling rush over, he slammed the door shut and headed for the elevator.
Niu Qiuling opened the door and shouted at him, "Never come back."
"Got it, I'll listen to you."
Wan Yunting replied with a wicked smile as he entered the elevator.
This made Niu Qiuling stomp her foot in anger, knowing that the scoundrel was deliberately provoking her.
