Chapter 715: Chapter 0717: Come Find Me
Yang Ping noticed that Mu Bingtong’s complexion didn’t look good, and couldn’t help but ask, "Lady Mu, what’s wrong?"
Mu Bingtong gently shook her head, "My suitcase is gone."
"Suitcase?" Yang Ping was startled; he followed Mu Bingtong’s gaze and saw nothing but empty space.
Yang Ping suddenly remembered, earlier, when he heard that fat nerd bullying Mu Bingtong, mentioning that she came from Shanghai, he felt somewhat guilty, "I’m sorry, if I hadn’t dragged you away, your suitcase wouldn’t have gone missing."
Mu Bingtong gently shook her head, "It’s not your fault, you meant well."
At this moment, Lin Dong entered the lobby carrying a suitcase.
Liu Yue looked at him, puzzled, and asked, "Are you going on a long trip?"
Then, noticing that the suitcase wasn’t his, she couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Is this a new suitcase you’ve bought?"
Lin Dong shook his head, "No, I found it outside."
Liu Yue glanced at the suitcase, which had a tag due to checking in, "Doesn’t it have a name? Check who it belongs to and call out in the Gambling Stone Field. These people really, so obsessed with gambling stones? They come straight here dragging their suitcases."
Lin Dong looked at the tag, and when he saw it was from Shanghai, his eyebrows slightly furrowed, "The owner of this suitcase is from Shanghai."
"Shanghai?" Liu Yue was taken aback, "Could it be someone coming to see Mr. Chu?"
Thinking about it, who would come directly to the Gambling Stone Field dragging their suitcase, was likely to be looking for someone, this explanation just made sense.
Lin Dong, touching his chin and looking thoughtful, nodded, "Yes, possible, I’ll go ask Mr. Chu right now."
As he was speaking and just getting up, Chu Ge came over with a wine glass in hand, "What’s up?"
Lin Dong stepped forward, pointing to the suitcase, "Mr. Chu, I found a suitcase, it’s quite heavy. This suitcase came from Shanghai, could it be someone looking for you?"
Chu Ge looked at the suitcase with suspicion, feeling it somewhat familiar, "Is there a name written on it?"
Chu Ge asked.
Lin Dong then remembered, and looked down again, "There’s just a surname, Mu."
Mu?
Mu Bingtong?!
Upon hearing this, Chu Ge hastily put down his wine glass and headed outside. Today he had called Mu Bingtong and she hadn’t answered; so she had come to the Capital City in person.
But just earlier, there was a mix-up and turmoil here, was she here at that time? Wasn’t she frightened? Her suitcase was picked up, but where did she go?
A series of questions sprang into Chu Ge’s mind, and with that thought, his footsteps involuntarily quickened.
As he stepped out of the door, he saw a slender figure approaching from the other side, accompanied by a scholarly person.
Mu Bingtong’s face was expressionless, but her steps were somewhat hurried.
"Bingtong."
Chu Ge approached, his face containing a trace of joy; it really was her.
Mu Bingtong hadn’t expected Chu Ge to come out again, she looked up, and saw his black eyes brimming with joy, she smiled, "Congratulations on your opening."
"So did you come especially to surprise me?" Chu Ge asked.
Mu Bingtong pressed her lips together, a hint of a smile playing on them, as she nodded slightly, "I had wanted to give you a surprise, but I never expected it to end up like this. I was really scared to death just now. You’re not hurt, are you?"
Chu Ge shook his head, "I’m fine. There was just a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding? Even after all that happened? Those people were carrying weapons."
Mu Bingtong was obviously not convinced by Chu Ge’s explanation.
Chu Ge did not want to explain any further. He was worried that with Mu Bingtong’s intelligence, she would notice something more if he talked too much.
Chu Ge smiled and asked, pointing to Yang Ping who was standing beside her, "And this is..."
"Oh, this gentleman is the one who saved me just now,"
Mu Bingtong introduced.
Chu Ge immediately became tense. He stepped forward and carefully looked over Mu Bingtong. After not seeing any signs of injury, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Saved you? Did someone bully you just now? Was it those thugs?"
Chu Ge’s eyes flashed with fierceness.
Mu Bingtong shook her head, "Not them, never mind, it’s all in the past now. I’m fine and there’s nothing to worry about. By the way, I lost my suitcase. Can you help me find it?"
Chu Ge pointed towards the front desk and said, "Your suitcase was picked up by one of our Gambling Stone Field’s staff. It’s inside. I knew you were here because I saw your suitcase. Don’t surprise me like this next time. It was a good thing it wasn’t serious, but what if it had been more chaotic?"
Chu Ge didn’t mean to blame Mu Bingtong. He was merely concerned, knowing that if anything had happened to her, it would have broken his heart.
However, Yang Ping, standing to the side, was slightly displeased upon hearing Chu Ge’s words. He coughed softly and reminded with some speechlessness, "Sir, Lady Mu came all this way to surprise you. Instead of being grateful, you’re chastising her. As a man, how can you say such things? Do you have any idea what Lady Mu just went through..."
"Lady Mu," Mu Bingtong interrupted sternly, "It’s okay now. I’ve found my friend. Thank you for your kindness just now. I’ll make sure to visit you another day."
Yang Ping saw that Mu Bingtong was displeased and quickly shut his mouth, but he still felt somewhat uncomfortable with words stuck in his throat. His lips parted as if to speak, but in the end, all he managed to stammer out was, "That... I’m not from the Capital City. After the conference, I will be leaving."
His tone carried a tinge of disappointment.
Mu Bingtong was taken aback but didn’t know what to say.
Yang Ping twisted his trouser legs nervously. He wanted to say something but didn’t have the courage.
Seeing his hesitance, Mu Bingtong couldn’t help but ask, "Mr. Yang, if you have something to say, just say it."
Yang Ping gave an awkward smile, "Well, they came for the conference, and I don’t really have any role in it. I usually feel pretty bored alone... That is..."
He hesitated for quite a while, especially feeling the piercing glare from someone next to him, which made him even more nervous.
"I was wondering... wondering if I might ask you out?"
Yang Ping finally mustered up the courage to speak.
Mu Bingtong was stunned, then lifted her eyes to glance at Chu Ge.
Chu Ge looked at her with intense eyes, obviously wanting her to refuse.
However, Mu Bingtong couldn’t help thinking of the rumors about Chu Ge and Nangong Man Sha, and a little feminine jealousy spurred her to reply directly, "Of course, that would be fine."
Chu Ge: ...
Yang Ping hadn’t expected Mu Bingtong to agree so readily. He looked up at her with delight, "Thank you, Lady Mu, for giving me this chance."
Mu Bingtong smiled and took out a business card from her pocket to hand to Yang Ping, saying, "This is my business card. It has my phone number on it, so you can call me if you need anything. And when you have time to visit Shanghai, you can find me too."
