Chapter 243: Chapter 243
- HAZEL -
I cannot believe I let Kate talk me into stepping out. I feel ridiculous, dressed for brunch while being in a place like this. Not that my outfit is not fabulous, it’s just not the usual thing you’d expect to see people who go here put on. I feel like we look like some sort of glitter fairies in a world of suits. I stop myself from groaning, faking having a fun time with Liam when all I’m doing is sneaking short glances at Kate and Killian who actually seem to be having a fun time.
I feel a hand warm up to my waist then pull me forward. Before I could even react, my body is pressed against his chest and my heart pounds violently in my ribcage. My eyes widen and my face cheeks are pressed against his perfectly sculpted body.
“You know,” Liam begins, from the sound of his deep, cool voice, I could tell his head is drawing closer to mine. His hands are holding me securely onto him, not touching me improperly in any way yet it feels like they are. How can someone be so careful yet the gesture feels so risky at the same time? I swallow, listening to him. “If you want a taste of my brother, I could give you two some alone time. All you’ve got to do is ask.” Liam draws me away from him gently, his hands slide up to my arms, caressing my arms warmly till they lock in my fingers, like we’re assuming the dancing pose. All this while, his eyes were on me. They still are, piercing into mine so ardently that I feel my throat burn.
I swear, this man could get any woman wrapped around his fingers if he wanted to and without any words. I blink, clearing my throat.
“So what would it be?” He pulls me back to him by my waist. I had no idea his hand made its way back there. His hand is high up my waist so you could say he’s holding me more on my back than by my waist. “What do you want, princess? Your wish is my command.”
That tongue of his. . . It needs to be cut off. He speaks so eloquently in a buttery, honey-like manner that would woo you even when the words are anything but nasty.
“I. .” I manage to say, sneaking another gaze to the side, looking at my bestie and her fiancé. “I want to be with Killian. It’s been so long.” I say, my voice soft. Recently, the further away I am from Killian, the more I crave him like I’m addicted to some drug which I can’t break away from and it’s all so new to me that it’s crazy. I mean, I’ve been madly in love with him and drawn to him yet during this past week, I would be lying if I said in all my clearheadedness I did not think about him. “Can you do that for me? Please?” I beg, my desire for this obvious in my tone.
Liam lets out a sigh, his grin so warm and charming. “How could I say no?”
“Thank you.” I don’t know what he’s about to do but I sure hope that it will work.
He winks at me. This makes my cheeks puff. “Wait right here, I’m about to do something bizarre.” He takes his hands off me then slowly steps backwards.
I’ll be waiting alright. Although I wonder what he means by bizarre and how bizarre his bizarre is
