Chapter 206 Who Else But Me If I Don't Love You

Shen Xi looked up, her gaze meeting Qin Siye’s. Knowing it was too late to evade, she recalled their agreement and greeted him respectfully,

"Mr. Qin."

"En," Qin Siye strode towards her, responding in a gentle voice. He looked down at her right leg, asking, "How is it? Does the wound still hurt?"

"Much better, I don't feel anything now," Shen Xi replied, her expression unchanged.

They looked at each other again, neither speaking, and an awkward silence fell between them.

Shen Xi glanced at the car not far away. Jian Fan had already gotten out. She once again said respectfully, "Goodbye, Mr. Qin!"

With that, she slowly walked towards Jian Fan.

Qin Siye did not speak, nor did he turn his head. He continued to walk straight ahead.

Glancing in Shen Xi’s direction, Zhao Ze quickly followed his steps and asked with a hint of confusion, "Why would Dr. Shen come to the cemetery?"

At this point, Zhao Ze was unaware of Shen Xi’s relationship with Yin Xi, and therefore could not fathom why she would be there.

His steps paused slightly. Qin Siye glanced at the tombstone of Yin Xi’s parents.

As Yin Xi’s cousin, it was only natural for her to visit her aunt and uncle’s graves.

However, he had noticed her eyes were slightly swollen just now, as if she had been crying. She seemed to be in too much pain.

Qin Siye took the flower basket from Zhao Ze, saying, "Go check Yin Xi’s parents' tombstone and see if anything is amiss."

"Oh," Zhao Ze turned around with a puzzled expression, unsure of the president’s intention.

Had Dr. Shen just paid respects to Miss Yin’s parents? What was their relationship?

Shen Xi sat in the car as it slowly drove out of the cemetery. Looking back, she saw Qin Siye holding a flower basket and walking in another direction.

Who had he come to pay respects to? Could it be his mother?

Soon, the car reached the main road. Shen Xi collected her thoughts and looked at Jian Fan, who was driving with his full attention, asking, "Has Zheng Jinghe returned to the country?"

"I had someone inquire. He's returning tomorrow," Jian Fan replied.

"Good. Once he's back, find a way to contact him. I need to meet him in person and force him to reveal the truth of what happened back then," Shen Xi's pupils contracted, her voice laced with a fierce determination.

In the evening, shortly after Jian Fan had brought the three children home, Xie Yifei rushed over with several large bags of health supplements.

As soon as she entered, she chided Shen Xi, who was on the sofa, "Xi Xi, you're injured! Why didn't you tell me about such a big thing?"

"Ah," Shen Xi cast a knowing glance at Jian Fan, certain he was the one who had reported her. She quickly stood up and walked towards Xie Yifei, saying, "It's nothing serious. Look, I'm fine, aren't I?"

Xie Yifei put down the bags, pulled Shen Xi, and examined her from head to toe, front to back, asking, "Are you really okay?"

"I'm fine. A small dog just broke the skin a little. I've had all the necessary vaccinations, and the wound has basically healed," Shen Xi said with a smile.

"Really? Then I'm relieved. You know, I was worried sick all day when I heard you were injured.

I couldn't wait until work was over, so I rushed here. I also bought you some supplements," Xie Yifei held her hand, her face still etched with concern.

"Thank you, Yifei. I knew you truly loved me," Shen Xi said, emotionally embracing her shoulders.

"Of course. We've been friends for many years, and now we're sworn sisters. If I don't love you, who else will?"

Xie Yifei put her arm around Shen Xi's waist and continued with a frown,

"I heard you were bitten by a dog at the Qin family's residence. Did the Qin family say anything? Did Qin Siye not express anything?"

"Express what?" Shen Xi looked up at her.

"Compensation, of course," Xie Yifei blurted out.

Shen Xi frowned. Why did everyone around her think of such things?

Just as she was unsure how to answer, Yan Yan suddenly spoke, "Aunt Yifei, Uncle Qin didn't give Mommy any compensation, but he accompanied Mommy to the hospital for injections the entire time, and personally brought her back and carried her into her room."

Upon hearing this, both Jian Fan and Xie Yifei looked at Shen Xi in surprise.

What? Qin Siye carried her? Didn't the internet say that man was a germaphobe and never touched women?

"Xi Xi, tell us quickly, what exactly happened?" Xie Yifei pulled her hand and asked in a low, curious voice.

"It's not what you think. When I got out of the car, I lost my footing and almost fell. He caught me in a moment of urgency and carried me upstairs," Shen Xi quickly explained.

After speaking, she pulled Xie Yifei towards the stairs. There were some things she didn't want to say in front of Jian Fan and the children.

Once they entered the study, Xie Yifei smiled at Shen Xi, "Xi Xi, what exactly is your relationship with Qin Siye now? He wouldn't have fallen for you, would he?"
