Qin Si Ye hung up the phone, running forward with urgency.
He scanned the area where Shen Xi had just stood but couldn't see her, a sense of panic rising within him.
At that moment, a woman's struggling sounds came from the alley on his right. Without hesitation, Qin Si Ye rushed over and saw several men in black holding Shen Xi, standing tall and imposing.
Shen Xi's mouth was gagged with a piece of cloth, her eyes fixed on him, filled with terror.
His heart clenched. Qin Si Ye stopped, a bone-chilling cold radiating from him as he glared at them.
"What do you want? Let her go!"
One of the men in black stepped forward, sneering, "Mr. Qin, this is Xicheng, not K City. Your words don't hold sway here."
Qin Si Ye’s heart skipped a beat. They actually knew him. It seemed these people were after him.
With a cold glint in his eyes, Qin Si Ye slowly took a step forward. "Who are you? What do you want?"
The man suddenly turned, and a gleaming dagger was placed against Shen Xi's neck. "If you take another step, I'll make her bleed."
"Alright. Don't do anything rash," Qin Si Ye immediately stopped, raising his hands before letting them drop. "Speak, what do you want?"
"This woman is indeed your sweetheart. It seems we've caught the right people. However, Mr. Qin, your taste isn't that great." The man in black chuckled, moving the knife slightly away from Shen Xi's neck.
The other men in black joined in with laughter.
This woman was plain-looking, and compared to the handsome and wealthy man before them, she truly was an ill-matched pair.
"Stop wasting words. State your demands quickly. My patience is limited," Qin Si Ye said, glaring at them impatiently.
"Alright. Mr. Qin, please don't be angry. Our boss would like to invite you over for a talk." The man who had been speaking, clearly the leader of the group, said.
Qin Si Ye frowned. "Who is your boss?" He couldn't recall knowing anyone in Xicheng.
"You'll know when you get there," the man in black replied.
"Then, if I go with you, will you let her go?" Qin Si Ye's eyes were filled with a cold light as he swept his gaze over the group, finally landing on Shen Xi's face. He met her steady gaze.
For some reason, from the moment she saw Qin Si Ye appear, Shen Xi felt inexplicably reassured. Her eyes never left him, and she made no attempt to struggle.
A voice deep within her told her that this man in front of her could definitely rescue her.
The man in black waved the dagger in front of Shen Xi's eyes. "That depends on your sincerity, Mr. Qin. If you agree to let us tie your hands, I'll release her."
"Alright. It's a deal." Qin Si Ye's gaze flickered towards Shen Xi with a subtle hint, then he sincerely extended his hands.
Seeing this, the man in black quickly signaled two other men behind him to tie Qin Si Ye's hands.
As they were about to knot the ropes, Qin Si Ye saw that the others hadn't moved and two men were still gripping Shen Xi's arms tightly. "Where is your sincerity?"
The man in black, seeing Qin Si Ye's hands were now bound, signaled to the two holding Shen Xi. "Let her go."
The moment they released Shen Xi's arms, two silver needles appeared in their hands, and their bodies involuntarily began to tremble, emitting groans of pain.
Meanwhile, Qin Si Ye moved with blinding speed, kicking the two men beside him to the ground with each leg and quickly untying himself.
At this moment, Shen Xi had also removed the gag and was running towards him.
Everything happened too fast. The leader of the men in black reacted, immediately raising his dagger and throwing it towards Shen Xi.
Qin Si Ye's eyes widened in shock. He took a few steps forward and, without a second thought, extended his arm to pull Shen Xi into his embrace. With a swift turn, the dagger grazed past him.
He then kicked the attacker to the ground.
Shen Xi stood up, her body trembling, and looked up at his arm. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
