Chapter 5 Fainting, Carried Home by Him

“President, what’s wrong with her?” Zhao Ze strode in just then, looking back in astonishment.

“It seems she’s fainted.” Qin Siye’s gaze deepened. “Has everything outside been handled?”

“Yes. It was a group of debt collectors. It appears this young lady has a complicated background.” Zhao Ze turned his face, started the car, and asked in a low voice, “What do we do now?”

Glancing sideways at the pale woman beside him, Qin Siye placed his index finger under her nose. Thankfully, her breathing was steady.

After a moment of thought, Qin Siye replied with a profound tone, “Return to Xinglan Bay. Also, call Gu Lin and tell him to hurry over!”

About ten minutes later, the car stopped in front of a lavish villa.

This was a quiet area in the northern part of K City, nestled by mountains and water, surrounded by lush trees.

Xinglan Bay was the exclusive villa estate in this area.

After parking the car, Qin Siye opened the door from the other side and got out. After a slight hesitation, he reached out and picked up Yin Xi, walking towards the villa entrance.

Steward Liu and Sister Li’s eyes widened in surprise at the sight.

Why would their master bring a woman home at night? This was highly unusual.

Zhao Ze winked at them, signaling them not to ask too many questions, and called for Sister Li to follow them upstairs.

Qin Siye’s expression was placid, as if no one else was present. With his long strides, he carried Yin Xi directly into a guest room on the east side of the second floor.

At this moment, Gu Lin had also arrived.

“Siye, why did you call me over so urgently? What happened?” he asked loudly as he entered the room.

Suddenly spotting a woman lying on the bed inside, Gu Lin furrowed his brows and looked at Qin Siye in disbelief.

He had moderate mysophobia and had always been distant from women. Apart from a few housekeepers, no other woman had ever entered this place.

With a calm demeanor, Qin Siye said in a low voice, “She seems to have fainted. Can you check what’s going on?”

What? Fainted? Why didn’t you say so sooner?

His doctor’s instinct made him inexplicably nervous. Gu Lin immediately stepped forward and examined her carefully.

“Her breathing is steady, so she should be alright.

However, her body is very weak, and she seems to have caught a chill and has a slight fever.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Siye looked deeply at Yin Xi, a fleeting look of doubt appearing in his eyes.

Taking a white pill from the medicine box, Gu Lin, with Sister Li’s help, made Yin Xi swallow it.

“Siye, this young lady’s clothes are almost soaked through. We need to find her some dry clothes to change into. Otherwise, her fever will worsen.”

Dry clothes? Where would there be women’s clothes here?

Qin Siye frowned slightly and then instructed Sister Li to find some clothes for her.

The men left the room, and Gu Lin followed Qin Siye to his study.

“Siye, spill it! What’s your relationship with that lady?”

As soon as the study door closed, Gu Lin’s lips curved upward as he began to interrogate his good friend.

“What relationship? I just happened to save her on the road.” Qin Siye replied indifferently, walking to the chair behind the desk and sitting down.

“Impossible! I know your personality. If you didn’t have a special relationship with her, why would you bring her here?

And she fainted, did you carry her in? Aren’t you a germaphobe? How could you carry a strange woman?”

Walking quickly, Gu Lin sat in the chair opposite him, his gaze fixed on him intently.

Startled, Qin Siye suddenly realized the issue.

When he had carried her in earlier, he had only hesitated for a moment and hadn’t shown extreme aversion.

Though his heart stirred slightly, Qin Siye’s expression remained as calm as ever. “I just feel she’s a bit like the person I’m looking for.”

This statement piqued Gu Lin’s curiosity even further, his eyes behind his glasses gleaming brightly.

“The person you’re looking for? Who are you looking for? And it’s a woman.”

“Gu Lin, you’re asking too many questions!” Qin Siye’s gaze deepened, and a cold aura immediately emanated from him, enveloping the entire room.

Gu Lin couldn’t help but shiver.

His friend was perfect in every way – exceptionally capable and righteous, but he had one flaw: he was taciturn and introverted, always hiding his feelings deep inside.

“Alright, alright, I won’t ask anymore. But I believe that one day, you’ll tell me yourself.” Gu Lin raised his eyebrows and quickly said with a smile.

Just then, Zhao Ze came to knock on the door, saying that the young lady they had rescued had woken up.

Hearing this, both men got up and walked towards the guest room.

As they entered, they saw Yin Xi reclining on the bed. Her delicate and handsome face illuminated the entire room, but her complexion was still pale, lacking any blood color.

As soon as she saw Qin Siye, she tried to push herself up, a smile forming on her lips. “Mr. Qin, thank you for saving me!”

She had already learned from Sister Li that the gentleman who saved her was named Qin.

Qin Siye looked at her with deep eyes and nodded slightly, saying nothing.

At this moment, Gu Lin took a thermometer from the medicine box and handed it to her with a smile. “Miss, please take your temperature.”

Yin Xi hesitated, unsure who the man in front of her was. Should she take it or not?

“Miss Yin, this is Dr. Gu. He gave you a pill just now, and you woke up because of it.”

“Thank you, Dr. Gu!” Yin Xi said weakly.

As she took the thermometer, a blush instantly appeared on her fair little face.

It was spring, and Sister Li had already found her a loose set of clothes to change into.

How could she place the thermometer under her armpit in front of two men?

The two men seemed to sense her awkwardness and turned their backs in unison.

After placing the thermometer, Qin Siye instructed Sister Li to prepare a meal and bring it upstairs.

At this moment, Gu Lin cast a meaningful glance at Qin Siye beside him and then turned to Yin Xi. “Miss, Mr. Qin and I both saved you, but we still don’t know how to address you?”

“Thank you both gentlemen again for saving me! My name is Yin Xi.” Yin Xi replied frankly with a slight smile.

This smile was like a delicate, vibrant flower blooming in the spring, evoking tenderness and captivating anyone who saw it.

“Yin Xi? That’s a lovely name! They say a name reflects the person, and indeed, beautiful women have extraordinary names!”

As Gu Lin spoke, his gaze unconsciously flickered towards Qin Siye, as if he were saying this specifically for him.

However, Qin Siye remained outwardly composed, showing no sign of emotion.

Three minutes later, Yin Xi quickly removed the thermometer.

“37.5 degrees Celsius. Fortunately, it’s just a low-grade fever,” Gu Lin said, looking at the thermometer. “Miss Yin is a bit weak. You need to rest a lot in the coming days, eat nutritious food, and absolutely avoid overexertion.”

When Gu Lin left, he left behind some pills, instructing Yin Xi to take them three times a day.

After seeing Gu Lin out, Qin Siye called Zhao Ze into the study.

“Investigate this Yin Xi!”

Zhao Ze was startled and asked in a low voice, “President, you don’t suspect Miss Yin is the woman from last night, do you?”
