"Qin Si Ye, am I being willful? I think there's something wrong with you," Shen Xi retorted, her eyes reddening as she glared at him. "Your one action, one lie, made Grandma happy. What about me? Did you ever consider my feelings?
A few days ago, you promised me you wouldn't disrupt my life. And now? What is this now?"
Qin Si Ye looked at her with melancholy eyes and said in a low voice, "Can we talk in the car? We might run into your colleagues here."
Hearing this, Shen Xi was startled. She glanced around and then strode towards his car.
Qin Si Ye got there before her and personally opened the car door for her. Returning to the driver's seat, he locked the doors and immediately started the engine.
"Qin Si Ye, you liar. Who told you to drive?" Shen Xi felt tricked the moment she saw this and swung her fist at him.
"Don't move. I just want to find a secluded spot where we can properly discuss this matter," Qin Si Ye said, unmoved, and continued to drive forward.
Soon, they left the underground parking lot and arrived at a parking spot in a park.
As soon as Qin Si Ye parked the car, Shen Xi glared at him, her anger uncontainable, and resumed their conversation. "Qin Si Ye, the way you acted at the Qin family's today was entirely treating me as a tool to make your grandmother happy. Don't you think that was disrespectful to me?"
Qin Si Ye gazed at her with deep affection and quickly denied it. "No. Shen Xi, the reason I did that was twofold: first, to make Grandma happy, and second, it was an involuntary, natural reaction.
I absolutely did not mean to disrespect you, nor did I treat you as a tool. If you're willing, I can go to the Civil Affairs Bureau with you tomorrow and we can get the marriage certificate."
Involuntary? Hadn't he decided to let go? Why was he still having these emotions?
Shen Xi couldn't figure it out for a moment, but her heart skipped a beat when she heard him mention "marriage certificate." She looked at him sharply.
"Qin Si Ye, please stop saying such nonsensical things. A few days ago, I made my stance very clear."
Qin Si Ye stared at her with intense eyes. He longed to say: Xixi, I regret it. I want to take back that promise. Can you give me another chance to pursue you?
Although he had never truly let go deep down, and had been silently observing her every move from the shadows,
He had been in agony from not seeing her or contacting her for several days.
He felt as though his heart was empty, and he couldn't focus on anything.
Even looking at her photos every day couldn't alleviate the pain of his longing. It seemed he had overestimated his self-control.
But he also knew that if he actually spoke those words aloud, it would only make Shen Xi more agitated and disgusted with him.
"I'm sorry, I apologize. What's done is done and can't be changed. What can I do to make it up to you? You can name your conditions."
Qin Si Ye suppressed his emotions, his face earnest.
"Make it up to me? How? With money?" For some reason, Shen Xi became even angrier hearing him say that.
She knew he was the richest man in City K and had plenty of money. He must often solve many tricky problems with money.
"No. That's not what I meant," Qin Si Ye quickly denied, seeing that she had misunderstood.
How could their matters be resolved with money?
"What I mean is, you can name any condition other than money, as long as I can fulfill it."
Hearing this, Shen Xi suddenly fell into thought, unsure how to answer him.
Apart from him taking responsibility and offering financial compensation, there seemed to be no other compensatory measures for this matter.
Seeing her silence, Qin Si Ye spoke again. "I said I'd take responsibility for you, but you're unwilling, and you can't think of anything else right now. However, I do have a very simple way to compensate you. Would you like to hear it?"
"What?" Shen Xi couldn't help but look up at him.
Leaning slightly towards her, Qin Si Ye pointed to his cheek and curved his lips. "I'll let you kiss me. That way, you won't be at a disadvantage."
Seeing his shameless demeanor, Shen Xi's anger surged. She raised her hand as if to slap him.
