Her sister was still wearing a mask, and her identity had not yet been revealed to the public, so he naturally couldn't say anything.
The few people chatted for a while longer and exchanged contact information.
Yin Zhe then had his ticket checked and entered the venue.
When he went in, the movie had already started.
Shen Xi turned her head and asked him in a low voice, "Are those two your classmates from Huixian Middle School?"
"Yes," Yin Zhe replied, putting on his 3D glasses.
"Did you tell them my real identity just now?" Shen Xi asked somewhat worriedly.
She still needed to keep her identity hidden, and the fewer people who knew, the better.
"No. I said you were my cousin," Yin Zhe said, glancing at her.
Just then, Shen Xi's phone suddenly rang. Although she had set it to vibrate and kept it in her bag, she still felt it.
When she took it out, she saw it was Qin Si Ye.
She hesitated for a moment, then stood up, bent over, and whispered to the four people around her, "I'm going out to take a call. I'll be right back."
As soon as she got outside, the ringing had stopped. Fearing that Xu Zhi Lan might need something, Shen Xi quickly called back.
"Hello? What's wrong?"
"Where are you? Why aren't you answering my calls?" Qin Si Ye's displeased voice came through instantly.
"I'm out watching a movie with the children and A Zhe," Shen Xi replied after a slight pause.
"Watching a movie? Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Qin Si Ye's voice softened slightly. "After breakfast, Grandma asked me to accompany her to your place, but you weren't there. Which movie theater are you at? What movie are you watching? What's the row and seat number?"
Hearing this, Shen Xi's heart skipped a beat. What did he mean? Was he planning to come find them?
"The movie started a while ago. By the time you get here, it'll be about halfway through."
The man on the other end of the phone said dismissively, "It doesn't matter, I'm not going to watch the movie anyway. Just tell me quickly."
If he wasn't going to watch the movie, then what was he coming for?
Shen Xi couldn't quite figure it out. After a moment's pause, she answered all three questions he had asked.
The man's tone was so insistent that she probably couldn't refuse to tell him.
Back in the movie theater, Shen Xi tried her best to compose herself and focus on the movie, but she couldn't help but glance towards the entrance from time to time.
About half an hour later, a familiar figure appeared there.
Shen Xi wanted to wave at him but was afraid of disturbing the people behind her, so she gave up.
A moment later, the man sat down behind her, leaned forward, and whispered, "Why didn't you invite me to watch the movie with you?"
The three children and Yin Zhe had been engrossed in the screen and hadn't noticed him enter. Upon hearing his voice, they all turned around in surprise.
"Uncle Qin."
"Brother Si Ye."
"Shh!" Shen Xi quickly reminded them to keep their voices down.
It was only then that the four of them realized that the call she had gone out to take was from Qin Si Ye.
Yin Zhe, being quick-witted, immediately turned around again, "Brother Si Ye, I feel like this seat is a bit too close. Let's switch."
"Sure," Qin Si Ye readily agreed, a slight smile on his lips.
The two of them, being tall with long legs, directly stepped over their seats.
Before Shen Xi could react, Qin Si Ye had already sat down beside her.
The man took her hand and leaned in slightly, asking, "Why didn't you tell me last night that you were going out to watch a movie today?"
"It was decided on the spur of the moment," Shen Xi replied in a low voice, pulling her hand away.
She was just accompanying the children to a movie; why did she need to tell him?
This man was really something. Did she have to tell him about all her future actions?
They weren't at that stage yet, were they?
"From now on, for such activities, you must remember to invite me, understand?" Qin Si Ye took her hand again, his tone gentler than before.
"You're so busy, you won't have that much time," Shen Xi said, glancing at him.
Qin Si Ye looked past her at the three children on the other side. "No matter how busy I am, I have to make time to be with you. I've made promises and initiatives in front of all of Chen Chen's classmates' parents. Moreover, I like being with you."
Since entering, Qin Si Ye, despite wearing glasses, hadn't glanced at the movie screen once. His entire focus was on Shen Xi and the children.
Hearing this, Shen Xi immediately understood the meaning of his words on the phone. So, he had rushed over because he wanted to accompany them.
She also understood that what he was referring to with his words just now was their trip to Longcheng Amusement Park.
Was he going to assert himself as the children's "daddy" again?
She quickly stopped him from saying any more. "Alright, stop talking and focus on the movie."
Yin Zhe was sitting behind them, and Shen Xi felt a bit awkward. She tried to pull her hand away, but Qin Si Ye wouldn't let go.
Shen Xi had no choice but to let him hold her hand the entire time.
When they got up after the movie ended, Qin Si Ye finally released her hand, showing some consideration.
As they walked out of the theater, Yan Yan ran over, tilted her little head, and asked in a soft, sweet voice, "Uncle Qin, what did you think of the movie today? Was it good?"
