Chapter 949 How Did He Come Back?

The next day, after Yin Xi dropped the children off at school, she got back into her car and received a call from Xie Yifei.

“Xi Xi, how are things on your end? Have you found Lu Yushan?”

“I went back to my mom’s hometown for the weekend, so I didn’t have a chance to contact you.”

“Found her. She and Meng Qi have already been apprehended by the police,” Yin Xi replied calmly.

“What? That was so fast! How did you find them?” Xie Yifei asked, full of curiosity on the other end of the phone.

She only knew that Yin Xi had moved back into the Yin family villa and had set a trap with Qin Si Ye, but she wasn’t privy to their specific strategy.

Yin Xi paused for a moment, then recounted the events of the previous morning to her in full.

“Oh my goodness! That was so dangerous. Xi Xi, you’re so brave! And how did Qin Si Ye agree to let you do that? If your aunt finds out, she’ll definitely scold him severely.” Xie Yifei glanced at Jian Fan, who was driving beside her.

Jian Fan frowned in response, unsure what they were discussing.

“It was all my idea, it has nothing to do with him. Besides, we were fully prepared beforehand, and there were no real dangers,” Yin Xi replied nonchalantly.

“That’s good. But just thinking about your situation back then still makes my heart pound,” Xie Yifei said, patting her chest.

Yin Xi smiled and said, “You’re pregnant now, so you should be in a peaceful and quiet environment for the baby’s growth. That’s why I didn’t tell you the entire plan; I was afraid you’d worry.”

“Thank you for your thoughtfulness,” Xie Yifei said with a slight smile, changing the subject. “Construction on the new factory plant has begun. Some relevant departments will be here for an inspection today; will you be attending?”

“I… I probably can’t make it.” Yin Xi hesitated for a moment, a look of guilt appearing on her face. “Uncle Qin has surgery this morning, and I need to be at the hospital. I’ll have to trouble you to take care of company matters.”

Next, Yin Xi briefly explained Qin Xiuzhi’s illness to her.

“Okay. Don’t worry, the elderly person’s health is paramount. You don’t need to worry about the company; I’m here,” Xie Yifei replied after hearing the explanation, her expression shifting from surprise to composure.

When Yin Xi arrived at the hospital, all the Qin family members were in the ward, except for Xu Zhilan and Jiang Jie. Even Dean Bai and Gu Lin were present.

Qin Xiuzhi had already changed into a hospital gown. He looked at Yin Xi with a kindly smile and asked, “Xi Xi, have the children been sent to kindergarten?”

“Yes, Uncle,” Yin Xi replied with a smile. “They specifically asked me to convey a message to you.”

Qin Xiuzhi raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, “What message?”

Yin Xi replied, “They told me to tell you to be strong, not to overthink, and that the surgery will be over very quickly. They’ll come to see you after school.”

“Alright. Such good children. I will definitely get through this with strength,” Qin Xiuzhi said, his eyes misting over.

Just then, a doctor pushed a mobile bed into the room. Qin Xiuzhi lay down with the help of his children. As they were pushed out of the room, a call of “Dad” came from behind them.

Everyone turned to see Qin Si Yu hurrying towards them, supporting Jiang Jie.

“Si Yu, why… why are you back?” Qin Xiuzhi asked, tilting his head in surprise.

Qin Si Yu stepped forward, took his hand, his eyes slightly red. “Dad, how could you have surgery without telling me? If my mother hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known about this.”

“I’m fine; it’s just a minor surgery. You’re so far away, and it’s difficult to travel back and forth. Besides, I didn’t want to affect your studies.”

Hearing this, Qin Xiuzhi felt greatly comforted, thinking that this child seemed to have grown up overnight.
