Her words were cut short by Qin Si Ye's abrupt interruption. "Xi Xi, please don't say another word."
He never imagined Yin Xi would bring up those photos in front of the entire family.
If she wanted him to cooperate, he could try his best.
But how could such a matter be brought up in public?
"What is it? So secretive?" Xu Zhi Lan looked at her grandson with curiosity. "Si Ye, why aren't you letting Xi Xi speak? Did you do something to betray her outside?"
Qin Si Ye quickly denied it. "Grandma, your imagination is running wild. Don't you know what kind of person I am? It's just a misunderstanding; we'll handle it."
"Oh, it's a misunderstanding, that's good then." Xu Zhi Lan still trusted her grandson. "I noticed Xi Xi hasn't been looking well today. Since it's a misunderstanding, you need to explain it properly to her; don't let the misunderstanding fester."
"I understand." Qin Si Ye glanced at Yin Xi, then placed the shrimp he had just peeled into her plate. She remained with a sullen expression, not touching her chopsticks.
Seeing this, Meng Qi felt a surge of delight. She desperately wanted to stand up and draw the cause of their misunderstanding to herself. Qin Xiu Zhi was also present; perhaps he could even speak a good word for her. However, she also harbored some apprehension towards Qin Si Ye, fearing he might blame her for intentionally causing trouble.
"Grandma Xu, Si Ye Ge and Miss Yin have an emotional foundation; you don't need to worry. I believe they'll reconcile soon." She then stood up with a smile, raising her wine glass. She looked at them and said, "Si Ye Ge, Miss Yin, please, I'll toast you both. I wish you a speedy resolution to your misunderstanding and a happy reconciliation."
Yin Xi hadn't expected her to play this card. It seemed she was subtly provoking her. On the surface, she wished for their reconciliation, but in private, she likely hoped they would separate forever so she could seize the opportunity.
A faint smile touched Yin Xi's lips. She didn't reach for the glass. "Thank you for your kindness, Miss Meng. If the people around Si Ye were as sensible and understood boundaries as you do, I believe we would be married soon."
Upon hearing this, Meng Qi's heart skipped a beat. The adults present, with the exception of Qin Xiu Zhi, seemed to have discerned a different meaning from their veiled conversation. Could the recent incident Yin Xi mentioned be related to Meng Qi?
Qin Xiu Zhi looked at his son, who had been silently maintaining a cold demeanor. "Si Ye, look how sensible Meng Qi is. She didn't dwell on the endorsement matter last time and even stood up to toast you both. Are you really going to ignore her to this extent and leave her standing there?"
Only then did Qin Si Ye lift his wine glass and take a small sip. Yin Xi immediately raised her glass of juice, her gaze fixed on Meng Qi, and drank it down with her.
Qin Si Yue, having long sensed the awkward tension among the three, decided to suppress Meng Qi and support Yin Xi. She deliberately took out her phone and smiled brightly at Xu Zhi Lan. "Grandma, have you seen the endorsement advertisement Xi Jie filmed for Zhuo Sheng?"
"Our television has been having issues, so I haven't noticed. Has it aired already?" Xu Zhi Lan asked curiously.
"Yes, it's been airing for over a week. And the effect has been tremendous. I heard that many department stores are almost running out of stock." Qin Si Yue pulled up the advertisement and quickly walked over to her. "Grandma, I have it on my phone; please take a look."
"Wow! Xi Xi, you are truly beautiful, simply like a celestial being. Watching your advertisement, I want a diamond necklace too." Xu Zhi Lan's eyes sparkled with admiration. "If you wore a real wedding dress, you would be even more stunning. Everyone, tell me, am I right?" She then turned the screen around to face everyone.
