Necromancer.
Donning his magic robe, he was followed by a large contingent of guards, their imposing aura filling the air.
The narrow street.
At this moment—
Thousands of orcs had converged,
Blocking the entire street completely.
With the latrine outside the mess hall as the dividing line, the Necromancer and the Ha family father and son stood on opposite sides.
“It’s really strange, how can this father and son be lions? They should be dogs,” Chen Yu muttered, Sona and the little demon looked at him with confusion. “Why?”
“Husky.”
Chen Yu spread his hands, as if it were obvious.
“Boss, are you telling a joke? It’s pretty lame,” Black Bean, crouching on the rooftop, mumbled. Chen Yu glanced at him, “I think this joke is actually quite good.”
Black Bean stopped talking, merely giving Chen Yu a roll of his eyes to let him ponder.
His gaze swept across the street.
The restrained guards, seeing the arrival of the Necromancer, acted as if they had found their savior. They struggled, but the lion’s warriors held them firmly, preventing any movement.
“Lord City Lord.”
The golden-maned lion, clad in silver armor, looked at the Necromancer with an arrogant expression.
“Eh, the silver armor he’s wearing is quite cool, what equipment is that?” Chen Yu peeked sideways. Sona whispered, “Bright Silver Set, the minimum wearing requirement is Silver Realm.”
“Peak Gold Realm, and he’s still wearing a Silver Set?”
“It’s very common for those of higher realms to wear lower-level equipment in the underground world, you know?” The little demon pouted. “Do you think equipment of the same realm is that easy to obtain? You’re peak Bronze, about to reach Silver, and you’re still wearing Iron Set, aren’t you?”
“This is my adventure set.”
“Iron Tier.”
Chen Yu, left speechless, stared at her for a good while before nodding uncontrollably.
“You…”
“What do you want?” The little demon lifted her delicate chin, her expression stern. “I almost forgot, I think I still have a few Bright Silver Set design blueprints. I just don’t remember where I put them. Oh dear, I’m afraid of others being mean to me, whenever they’re mean, I can’t remember anything.”
“What a pity, getting senile at such a young age,” Chen Yu scoffed.
“Eh? You!!!”
The little demon’s eyes widened, her face filled with disbelief.
She hadn’t expected that.
Even after she mentioned having the design blueprints, Chen Yu would still dare to be so presumptuous.
“What are you looking at? I’ll tell you, a gentleman doesn’t eat food given out of charity,” Chen Yu said with defiance, lightly snorting. “You think a few broken design blueprints can make me bow down? Who do you think you are? You’re just good-looking, with a great figure, your voice is as melodious as a mountain stream, your skin is as smooth as fat, surpassing falling snow. What makes you worthy of my bowing?”
Chen Yu raised his head haughtily. The little demon, who had been fuming moments ago, actually broke into a smile.
Sona and Black Bean were stunned.
“Heh, did I say something wrong?” Chen Yu maintained his stern expression and snorted. “Let me tell you, little demon, you’re useless except for your large chest!”
Upon mentioning her chest, the little demon seemed to become even happier.
“Consider yourself sensible,” the little demon said flirtatiously, lifting her chin. “When we return to camp, I’ll give you the design blueprints.”
“Ah~”
Chen Yu responded with a hum.
“Master.”
Sona couldn’t help but sigh, and Black Bean looked at him with adoration.
“Eating soft rice the hard way, Boss, it has to be you!”
Chen Yu did not respond to this.
He was inwardly overjoyed.
Bright Silver Set.
As long as he stepped into the Silver Realm, he would be able to enjoy the best equipment available for his current realm. Paired with his Five-Colored Sword, killing Gold Realm opponents would be like slaughtering chickens.
“Officer Harry.”
At this moment, the Necromancer also cupped his hands gently.
Hearing the words, Chen Yu also collected his thoughts and focused on watching.
“If I recall correctly, I instructed Officer Harry to garrison outside the city to guard against enemy invasions. Your return to the city now should be considered dereliction of duty, shouldn’t it?” the Necromancer whispered with a serious tone, then shook his head and chuckled. “No, it shouldn’t be dereliction of duty. Judging by your current actions, you intend to seize the city, don’t you?”
“City Lord, it is you who has left us no way to live,” Harry said, his gaze intensifying.
Almost instantaneously, hundreds more archers surged from the rooftops on both sides of the street, their bowstrings drawn and aimed at the Necromancer’s group.
This sudden turn of events caused all the sect leaders to change their expressions drastically.
Only the Necromancer.
He merely glanced at them briefly before shifting his gaze away.
“Oh? Where does that come from? I clearly stated back then that the city was in trouble, but I would do my best to gather the military funds. Wasn’t that the case?”
“Several days have passed, where is the military funding?” Harry raised an eyebrow.
“Scarface,” the Necromancer murmured. Scarface, who was being held down, strained to speak. “City Lord, the military funds have been handed over, but… it doesn’t seem to have reached Officer Hachi.”
“What?”
“We did indeed hand over the military funds to someone just now. That person was wearing Officer Hachi’s armor; it seemed to be that magic-cloaked individual.”
“Magic cloak.”
Upon hearing this, the Necromancer’s expression changed drastically.
“He’s here again?”
Even Harry frowned slightly at this, and turned to look at Officer Hachi.
“I’m not sure,” Hachi whispered. “All I know is that I was in the mess hall and was suddenly hit twice and knocked unconscious. I didn’t see the person. When I woke up, a slave pushed me awake. He told me that the guards were ambushing me, wearing magic cloaks.”
“Impossible!”
Scarface, who was being held down, immediately retorted.
“None of our guards possess magic cloaks.”
“Who knows if you do or not?” Hachi snorted. “Even if it wasn’t you who knocked me out, did you poison my men? You still want to kill us, don’t you?”
“We administered sleeping powder!”
Scarface shouted. “We didn’t intend to kill you, we just wanted to talk to you peacefully. If you don’t believe me, go to your barracks and see if all your soldiers are asleep.”
“Nonsense! Then what about my soldiers?”
Hachi’s gaze narrowed as he pointed to the subordinates behind him.
Many of these subordinates were lying on the ground, clutching their stomachs in pain.
“That has nothing to do with us!!!” Scarface yelled. Hachi was about to speak again but was stopped by Harry. Harry’s gaze fixed on Scarface. “Everything you’re saying is true.”
“True!”
“Hachi, where is the slave who reported this to you?”
“In the mess hall.”
“Good, go and bring him here for a confrontation.”
Chen Yu, who had moved from the mess hall to the center of the combat zone, listened to their exchange and suddenly felt something was amiss. He felt as if both sides were tacitly starting to resolve the issue.
This was not a good sign!
If these two factions were to reconcile, how would Chen Yu be able to attack the city?
He had to make them fight.
Glancing to the sides, he could see that the archers and the slave guards were all tense.
“Heh~”
Chen Yu suddenly grinned.
*Duang*.
He kicked an archer in the backside.
“Lord City Lord, if it was indeed the magic-cloaked individual causing trouble, then we can still negotiate,” Harry whispered. “Now I’ll have my son bring that slave here to see…”
“Someone is attacking!”
Before the words could fall, a loud shout suddenly rang out. Instantly, Harry, who had been amiable a moment ago, grabbed the greatsword in his hand, and the Necromancer’s guards also drew their weapons.
“Attack!!!!”
