Chapter 644: Giant Form Breeding Method

Behemoth Bruce is a seasoned Trainer active in the Kalos region’s Champion League.

The Pokémon he raises all share a distinct characteristic: their body size far exceeds that of others of the same species.

If he only had one oversized Pokémon, it could be written off as a coincidence. But every single Pokémon Bruce captures eventually grows into that same massive form. This naturally raised a lot of curiosity.

As for his secret, Bruce not only didn’t hide it, he openly explained that he possesses a special breeding method. In fact, he has no intention of keeping it secret at all. He even publicly declared that he offers paid custom breeding plans for other people’s Pokémon.

Custom breeding plans… When words like that come from a Trainer competing in the Champion League, their value skyrockets.

Indeed, this Behemoth Bruce is quite powerful, capable of holding his own against some of the current Elite Four, and is a very well-known Trainer in Kalos. Otherwise, Terrance wouldn’t have been lucky enough to come across his information so easily.

“Behemoth, huh?”

Staring at the battle footage on the screen, Terrance shot to his feet. This kind of breeding method was exactly what he had been searching for to enhance his Arcanine.

The Behemoth breeding method shines brilliantly in the hands of this Trainer named Bruce. Terrance could tell that the immense size of his Pokémon weren’t just for show. The power contained within those massive bodies was real. That, above all, made Terrance eager.

He had to get it.

No matter what, he must do everything possible to obtain the breeding method that can raise Arcanine into giant form from the other party.

Getting in touch with Bruce wouldn’t be difficult for Terrance, but figuring out what kind of offer would entice him was the hard part.

Totem Aura technology?

Impossible. A mere giant form breeding method wasn’t even worth half the value of Totem Aura technology.

What about helping one of Bruce’s Pokémon gain Totem Aura?

Also impossible. Not only did Terrance currently lack access to a Sparkling Stone, but he also didn’t have the necessary equipment to grant it. What’s more, the process itself would take too long and involve too many uncertainties.

Besides, if Totem Aura were to appear again in this timeline, it might attract a lot of unnecessary trouble.

But aside from Totem Aura technology, what else of value did Terrance have to offer?

Intermediate or lower breeding knowledge? At the level of a Champion League Trainer, that probably wouldn’t even catch his eye.

“Got it.”

After thinking for a moment, Terrance began looking up on the information about his Pokémon.

Abomasnow.

Bruce had an Abomasnow with Snow Warning Ability. This Abomasnow was massive, practically a monster, cloaked entirely in freezing air. It was one of his main Pokémon.

Its enormous size allowed him to better use its Ability. Upon entering battle, it immediately summoned a Blizzard. But to Terrance’s eyes, this Blizzard seemed a bit crude and unrefined.

“It’s just relying on the advantage of its size to crudely amplify the effect of the Snow Warning ability, but its control over the blizzard is far from perfect.”

“There’s room to improve here.”

Terrance possessed top-tier secret techniques for teaching four different types of weather-based moves. Even revealing one of them would be a priceless treasure that could move the hearts of Top Trainers. He didn’t even need to offer a complete version. Just a slightly trimmed version would be enough to help Bruce’s Abomasnow wield Snow Warning with much more finesse.

With that, maybe…just maybe, he could trade for the breeding method to evolve Arcanine into its giant form!

With this idea in mind, Terrance immediately contacted Teacher Teresa…

Strangely enough, her current role was somewhat like that of Terrance’s guardian in this timeline.

“You want to contact this Bruce to exchange breeding methods?” Teresa pondered for a moment and said, “If it’s just an exchange of breeding methods, it shouldn’t cause much trouble.”

“What are you planning to offer in return?”

Teacher Teresa’s impression of Terrance was still stuck in the time before the Super Grand Festival.

That is, when Terrance became the Gym Leader.

She hadn’t witnessed Terrance’s brilliant performance in the Super Grand Festival. His four wins, his defeat of Elite Four Leo, and him earning the titles of Senior Breeder and International Researcher. Teresa hadn’t seen any of it. So in her eyes, Terrance was still a recently graduated student, who was still growing.

Compared to someone like Bruce, a veteran Trainer from the Champion League, there was still a gap.

“It’s a move-based secret technique. I think it could be helpful to him,” Terrance said with a smile.

Teresa nodded. She was well aware of Terrance’s Arcanine’s battle style. After giving it some thought, she realized this giant form breeding method truly suited his Arcanine.

Biting her lip, Teacher Teresa hesitated for a moment, then agreed to Terrance’s request.

“But just this once,” she said.

“Alright.” Terrance nodded. These past few days, the light from that Celebi leaf had gradually grown brighter. Terrance suspected the time of Celebi’s awakening wasn’t far off.

Behemoth Bruce is a squinty-eyed young man. The moment Terrance saw him for the first time, his eyes involuntarily twitched.

Just like in the video, Bruce’s height was a bit below the average for adults.

Compared to the behemoths he raised, Bruce himself could be described as downright “miniature.” In his twenties, yet only reaching Terrance’s shoulder in height.

However, having already spoken with Bruce at length via video call, and being somewhat familiar with his profile, Terrance only felt momentary surprise in his heart.

Behemoth Bruce, the man who raised a group of behemoths, looked like a child himself. What a strange combination.

“Hello.” Bruce’s voice was youthful too, like that of a teenage boy. Terrance also greeted him, and the two quickly picked up where their video conversation had left off.

“First, let me show you the true power of Snowy Weather,” Terrance said with a slight smile.

“Hm?”

Bruce looked at Terrance. Despite his short stature, he was a seasoned Trainer through and through; his experience surpassed that of most Trainers.

To him, Terrance was at most a junior. Even though they were here to negotiate a deal, Bruce still regarded Terrance as someone of the younger generation.

That was the natural gap of age and status. As a Trainer famous throughout an entire region via the Champion League, he had the standing to think that way.

But the aura Terrance was now exuding made Bruce pause.

“Showing me the true power of Snowy Weather? For me?” Bruce murmured inwardly as Terrance finished his sentence.

Terrance brought Bruce to a public battlefield just outside Anistar City. Having watched Bruce’s Abomasnow battle footage, Terrance naturally knew how to appeal to him, and make Bruce willingly trade the breeding method.

“The Pokémon I’ll be using is Castform.” As Terrance spoke, he threw a Poké Ball!
