Chapter 365: Chapter 366: The End of Ye Zi’yong
"Ironhead, look at this kid, he can’t even get it up anymore. There’s no point trying."
"Really? Let me see... Oh my, Eldest has truly turned into a lady. Haha, we’re gonna have some fun."
Upon hearing this, Yang Chuxia quickly left the area while holding back her disgust.
"You didn’t arrange all this, did you?" Upon leaving the cell, Yang Chuxia asked the jailer again.
The jailer’s mouth twitched and shook his head, "I didn’t even get to give any instructions before the chaos started inside."
"You don’t do anything about this kind of thing?"
The jailer shook his head again, "How could we? We’re not bored. Besides, the people who come in here aren’t any good to begin with, who would bother with this?"
Yang Chuxia didn’t entirely agree with this, but she didn’t argue either.
She took out another tael of silver from her purse and handed it to the jailer, "Thank you for your help this time, Mr.Constable. This is the remaining silver, please keep it."
After saying that, she left without giving the jailer a chance to say anything and went towards the carriage. Once she got on, the coachman started driving back.
"How is it?" Ye Zi’an asked from inside the carriage.
"It’s a mess. As I told you, almost everyone is destroyed. I’m not even sure if they can make it out alive." Yang Chuxia had good reason to say this - with Yang Xiao’an and his father in such a state, they would definitely be disabled without a doctor. However, the prison conditions were harsh, and if an infection occurred, they could easily lose their lives.
As for Ye Ziyong, being treated like a woman by other men... there were several people in the cell and none of them were gentle. He could be killed at any moment.
"Is it really that serious?" asked Ye Zi’an, raising an eyebrow.
"Absolutely, let me tell you..." Yang Chuxia whispered what she had seen in the cell to Ye Zi’an. Then she continued, "Humph, Old Lady Hua and Ms.Hua Junior have done so much evil, and now it’s all come back to bite their own children and grandchildren. They deserve it."
Ye Zi’an listened to Yang Chuxia’s account of everything but didn’t show much emotion, only looking a bit upset when he heard about Ye Ziyong’s situation.
"Xiaxia, you didn’t actually go see Ye Ziyong, did you?"
"No way, how could I? That would be so disgusting, there’s nothing worth seeing." Yang Chuxia shook her head without thinking, not noticing any change in Ye Zi’an’s expression.
However, Ye Zi’an sighed with relief when he heard she hadn’t seen it.
As they hurried along in the carriage, Yang Chuxia peeked through the curtain and saw they were almost back in town. She then asked Ye Zi’an,
"Brother An, do you think we should buy a carriage?"
"Having a carriage would indeed be more convenient. Although we have an ox-cart at home, it’s not suitable for long distances. We might have to travel to the county town often, so renting a carriage each time isn’t practical." Ye Zi’an considered the idea before responding.
"How much would a carriage cost?"
"At least 30-50 taels." After giving the estimate, Ye Zi’an added, "If Xiaxia really wants to buy one, you should ask Broker Liu. He knows more about this and which horse is good."
"Alright, when we get to town, let’s go find Broker Liu first. After we buy the carriage, we’ll head back to the village."
"Okay."
After about two quarters of an hour, the carriage entered the town. They instructed Uncle Niu and the coachman to take the rented carriage to the store while Yang Chuxia and Ye Zi’an went to find Broker Liu.
When they mentioned they wanted to buy a carriage, Broker Liu enthusiastically introduced them to a newly arrived group of horses, claiming that they were retired from the battlefield. While they could no longer participate in battles, they were still capable of pulling a carriage.
