Chapter 1188: Chapter 1190: It’s Just Too Sad_1
"Where are Daddy and Mommy?" Little Lele let Mingcui dress his younger brother first, then sat on the side kicking his two little legs while asking.
Upon hearing this, Mingcui thought of the tightly shut door next door and her face became slightly red.
"Sister Mingcui?"
Seeing that she didn’t reply, Lele asked again.
"The young master and madam haven’t gotten up yet. The servant will take the young master to wash up and eat breakfast in a moment."
Lele didn’t say anything in response; he just nodded.
It was Yangyang who shouted, "Dad is so lazy, Mom’s lazy too!"
Lele rolled his eyes and thought that his little brother was a bit silly and that he would need to teach him to be smarter in the future.
After Mingcui got the two little buns dressed, she reached for their hands to take them to wash up. But the two wriggled free and instead went off hand in hand, muttering to each other—mostly Lele talking and Yangyang nodding along.
Mingcui was somewhat astonished, especially when she overheard Lele saying they shouldn’t pay attention to Dad later, which made her feel a bit unsettled.
Ming Liu came in to fill the water and saw Mingcui looking as if she had been startled, and she too was curious about what had happened.
But when she heard the brothers talking, she too became just like Mingcui.
"Did you remember, little brother?" Lele reiterated his instructions to Yangyang, not quite reassured.
Yangyang nodded vigorously, "Mmm, ignore Daddy!"
"And what else?"
"Pay attention to Mommy! Hug Mommy!"
"Anything else?"
"Daddy’s bad, don’t hug Daddy!"
"Little brother, you’re so good!" Lele was very pleased with his brother’s obedience, patting his head like a little grown-up.
He then took his brother over to Ming Liu and ordered with great authority, "Wash little brother’s face!"
After that, he told Mingcui, "Go serve the meal, my brother and I are hungry!"
The two Ming sisters exchanged looks, their expressions somewhat amused, but they complied regardless, for even the smallest master was still a master.
Ye Zi’an and Yang Chuxia got up just before noon, just in time to have lunch with their two sons.
But Ye Zi’an found something odd at the dining table.
Recently, Lele and Yangyang had been learning to eat by themselves, each with a bowl, a spoon, and a fork.
Then he saw Lele fork a piece of fish for Xiaxia, "Here, Mom, for you to eat!"
"Aww, thank you, Lele!" It was Xiaxia’s first time being served food by her son, and she was touched.
After Lele finished, it was Yangyang’s turn, who forked a piece of chicken and brought it to Xiaxia’s mouth, "Mom, ah..." The little boy imitated how Xiaxia usually fed them.
Xiaxia, of course, wouldn’t disappoint her son’s kind gesture and opened her mouth to eat, "Thank you, Yangyang!"
Ye Zi’an, thinking that after both sons had fed their mother, it ought to be his turn next, smiled inwardly. His boys were so wonderful, showing their filial piety at such a young age.
However, he waited and waited only to realize that these two scamps kept feeding Xiaxia, without so much as glancing at him.
That’s when he figured something was amiss.
Xiaxia too noticed that the boys were behaving oddly that day.
And she even made a point of saying, "Lele, Daddy likes shrimp!"
But as if he hadn’t heard, Lele countered, "Little brother likes it too!" and then he forked a shrimp to Yangyang’s mouth, "Little brother, eat!"
With a beaming smile, Yangyang swallowed it in one gulp and then said, "Thank you, brother!"
In the midst of such a loving scene of filial sons and brotherly affection, Ye Zi’an felt as if he weren’t part of it at all. He was heartbroken, truly heartbroken!
