Chapter 693: Chapter 693: Is Little Shushu Craving for a Man?
An Zhe noticed a change in Ye Shu’s expression and leaned in to ask, “What’s wrong, Lady Ye Shu? Is there something amiss?”
“There’s nothing amiss, I just feel… that this figure looks somewhat familiar.” Ye Shu murmured to herself, then asked loudly, “Who is Mei Qin? Come over here!”
“I am!” A girl with thick braids trotted over to Ye Shu’s side, “Mr. Ye, do you have any instructions?”
Ye Shu pointed to a life photograph clipped to the top of Mei Qin’s resume and asked, “Where was this taken? When was it taken?”
“Oh, this? It was taken a year ago at the top of Tianhu Mountain. Is there any problem?” Mei Qin asked curiously, her eyes twinkling.
“That man behind you wearing sunglasses, do you remember him?” Ye Shu used a pen to circle a man wearing sunglasses sitting on a wooden chair, enjoying the shade behind Mei Qin.
“Let me see!” The girl, Mei Qin, tilted her head and took a glance, then immediately said, “Oh, you mean him? Of course, I remember! He was so handsome; I almost fell for him at first sight. It’s just a shame, he’s blind and can’t see anything.”
Ye Shu’s heart throbbed violently, “Girl, be more specific, is he blind? What’s his name?”
Mei Qin replied, “He’s blind, as for his name, I really don’t know because everyone just calls him ‘Little Villager.’ It seems like a nickname he gave himself. Ah, it’s such a pity. You didn’t see him in person; he’s much more handsome than he is in the picture.”
“Little Villager? It’s him!” Ye Shu’s hand clenching the pen tightened abruptly, she asked urgently, “Then, how does he make a living?”
“Well, he relies on being handsome, of course. Many girls are willing to take photos with him, and when they find out he’s blind, they like to give him money. I think he can live without worries about food and clothing for the time being. Oh right, Mr. Ye, do you know him?”
“Cough cough, that’s enough, you continue preparing to go. There’s nothing more for you here.” Ye Shu finished speaking, stood up, and walked outside.
An Zhe took the resume and looked it over carefully, murmuring to himself, “Could it really be him?”
A few moments later, seeing that Ye Shu hadn’t returned, An Zhe also followed the direction she had left in to search for her.
At a small lake in the academy’s scenic area, he found Ye Shu and gently patted her shoulder, “So you’re here.”
Ye Shu turned around and said somewhat awkwardly, “It’s you, An Zhe. Why have you come out as well?”
“Lady Ye Shu, you’ve been crying?” An Zhe quickly handed over a handkerchief, “What happened?”
“It’s nothing, I just remembered some things from the past.” Ye Shu smiled, “An Zhe, look how beautiful this is. Yet why do students always hurry back and forth, not one willing to stop and appreciate it?”
An Zhe smiled shyly, “Those students are probably numb to it because they’re used to the environment. Once they graduate and come back later, they’ll naturally have a different sentiment.”
“Mmm!” Ye Shu nodded, and after a long while, she added, “An Zhe, what you said is right. Basically, no matter how good someone is to you, once you’re used to it, you’ll think it’s only natural and won’t pay much attention to them. But when they’re no longer around, that’s when you realize how precious their affection for you was…”
“Lady Ye Shu, are you remembering—”
“Let’s go. I’ve been out for quite a while; if we don’t go back now, I’m afraid Ou Linlin might start worrying about us.” Ye Shu turned and walked back.
She didn’t want to hear An Zhe mention his name, as she had finally resolved not to yearn for him any longer, not wishing to bring him trouble again. However, now seeing his situation wasn’t good, she couldn’t help feeling uneasy.
