Chapter 116 Money Makes the Man

Mao Min's face immediately turned grim.

After all the effort Lin Xiao Tian had put in to help her get rid of that person, why was he back again?

"Excuse me, I need to step away for a moment." Mao Min gave Lin Xiao Tian a slight nod.

"No problem," Lin Xiao Tian replied politely.

"Hey, what's taking you so long?" the young man blustered.

The young man's voice was loud, quickly drawing the attention of everyone present. In an instant, countless eyes turned towards them.

"Sir, is there anything I can do for you?"

"I asked you, what did I tell you I was going to do?" the young man said with a straight face.

"You said you wanted to withdraw money," Mao Min answered tremblingly.

"Then I just asked inside, and she said I need to show ID to withdraw, and that I need an appointment to withdraw this much money. What does that mean? It's my own money, and I can't even take it out?" The young man's voice grew louder.

"Sir, this is the latest regulation from the People's Bank, and we are acting according to the rules."

"Regulations are rigid, people are flexible. Are you dead?" the young man shouted, "I'm telling you, I want to withdraw money now, or I'll report you!"

Mao Min panicked at this.

Report her again?

It wasn't her fault!

She was just an ordinary employee, and these were the bank's and policy's regulations. She couldn't do anything about it!

"Sir, perhaps you could go get your ID?"

"I'm not going. Why should I? I'm asking you, can this matter be resolved?" the young man finished, slamming his hand hard on the counter.

The female teller inside saw this and wisely shut her mouth, daring not to say another word.

In fact, this customer had initially come to her. She had told him to queue, but she hadn't expected him to be so aggressive and insist on cutting in line, even causing a scene with her.

As service workers, they dreaded dealing with such unreasonable customers. The female teller knew she couldn't let this drag on, so she decided to lure him outside.

Since the new employee was inexperienced and a meek girl, easy to bully, she directed the young man to Mao Min.

Now, seeing the young man unleashing all his fury on Mao Min, the female teller felt a flicker of smugness.

The other teller on duty nearby also saw what was happening and felt a surge of indignation.

"Xiao Li, don't you think this is too much? Mao Min just started, and you're making her take all the blame. Don't you feel ashamed?"

"Liu Mei, what do you mean by that? I have business to attend to! She's an intern with nothing else to do. What's wrong with letting her handle customer disputes? I'm training her!" Xiao Li said righteously.

Hearing Xiao Li's words, Liu Mei felt disgusted.

Training?

Passing off blame like this, and making it sound so noble?

She had seen clearly that the young man had initially approached Xiao Li. But Xiao Li, seeing that he was trying to cut the line, had been very firm. Finally, realizing he was difficult to deal with, she pushed Mao Min out. It was simply shameless.

"Xiao Li, I heard Mao Min is from a village and her family is not well-off. What you're doing could cost her her job."

"Liu Mei, watch your words. How am I causing her to lose her job?" Xiao Li sneered. "Besides, she's a poor student with no family background, and she can barely attract a few depositors. Coming to a bank isn't suitable for her at all. In my opinion, she should find another job."

"Xiao Li, you've gone too far. I'll definitely report this to the supervisor."

"Heh heh! Liu Mei, who are you trying to fool? Go ahead and report if you want! Let's see if the supervisor sides with you or me?" Xiao Li said with a sly smile.

Seeing Xiao Li's confidence, Liu Mei's heart sank.

People said Xiao Li was promiscuous and had many boyfriends. Could it be that she had also gotten her hands on the supervisor?

With this thought, Liu Mei fell silent.

As a mere employee, how could she dare to confront her superior?

Poor Mao Min, a young girl with no power or connections, was likely in for a terrible day.

On the other side, outside the counter.

The young man had started yelling, and he was even pointing at Mao Min as he did so.

Usually, a young girl who had just graduated would either retort or burst into tears when faced with such a situation. But Mao Min endured it all, not uttering a single word of objection.

"Sir, please calm down."

"Calm down? Why should I calm down?"

Seeing that Mao Min dared not retort, the young man became even more brazen.

In reality, his anger had already subsided.

He was in a bad mood today, having been severely reprimanded by his boss at work and then assigned to withdraw money. He was looking for an outlet for his frustration.

Mao Min's appearance was opportune. Moreover, Mao Min was quite attractive, with long legs, a slender waist, and wearing black stockings. Her looks were at least an eight out of ten. He rarely encountered such a beautiful woman.

The sense of accomplishment he felt by making such a stunning beauty submit to him was immense. Indeed, money was power. Even though it wasn't his money, it felt great!

But, why wasn't this girl crying?

Had he not insulted her harshly enough?

Seeing this, the young man felt a sense of defeat.

"Forget it, I'm not wasting my breath. I'll report you directly. Let's see, what's your employee number?"

The young man said this and reached out to snatch Mao Min's name tag.

The name tag was pinned to Mao Min's chest, displaying her employee number. Ostensibly, the young man wanted to see her number, but in reality, he was trying to take advantage of the situation.

Mao Min panicked at this and pushed the young man's hand away.

"You dare to hit me?"

The young man shamelessly accused her.

The next moment, he raised his hand towards Mao Min.

Mao Min had never encountered such a situation and froze on the spot.

*Slap!*

At this critical moment, a pair of hands blocked in front of her.

The young man's hand was less than a centimeter from her face, but his wrist was firmly grasped by another hand.

Mao Min looked up slightly and saw that it was Lin Xiao Tian who had intervened.

"What are you doing? What's it to you? Let go of me!" the young man said angrily.

"Alright, I'll let go." Lin Xiao Tian released his grip.

However, the young man, eager to break free from Lin Xiao Tian's grasp, was caught off guard by Lin Xiao Tian's sudden release and fell face-first.

"Ouch!" the young man cried out.

His clumsy fall immediately drew laughter from the onlookers.

The young man was already sensitive about his reputation, and being mocked by so many people made his face turn bright red.

"Fine! You actually brought someone to hit me? Just you wait, I'm not letting this go," the young man threatened Mao Min.

But when he looked at Lin Xiao Tian, he instinctively shut his mouth.

Lin Xiao Tian's gaze was too cold, making him look like someone not to be trifled with.

Furthermore, Lin Xiao Tian's attire, easily costing tens of thousands, clearly indicated that he was not someone he could afford to offend.

He couldn't afford to offend Lin Xiao Tian, but he could offend Mao Min.

When he reached the door, he provocatively made a complaint call right in front of Mao Min.

"Thank you for helping me." After the young man left, Mao Min thanked Lin Xiao Tian.

If it weren't for Lin Xiao Tian, she would have been publicly humiliated.

"Oh right, I haven't finished your transaction yet! Let's continue." Mao Min tidied her emotions and led Lin Xiao Tian to the ATM.

"This is for a transfer. Please enter the amount." Despite feeling upset, Mao Min forced a smile.

Lin Xiao Tian nodded and entered the amount.

But soon, Mao Min sensed something was amiss.

Tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands...

One hundred million!

The further she got, the more bewildered she became.

No way?

He was going to transfer a hundred million out?

"Sir, how much money are you trying to transfer?" Mao Min asked again, disbelievingly.

"One hundred million."

"Ah?" Mao Min was stunned.

"Is there a problem?"

"No... no problem. It's just that the ATM can't handle this amount. It has to be done at the counter. I'll get you a new queue number..."

"Oh, okay. As long as it can be done, that's fine."

"Um... Sir, do you need to transfer it right now?" Mao Min said with some difficulty.

Lin Xiao Tian knew that their bank had deposit performance targets. Transferring such a large sum out would definitely affect the bank's performance, but Xue Zi Yan was in urgent need, so Lin Xiao Tian had to do it.

Mao Min sighed and then led Lin Xiao Tian to queue.

"Sir, our supervisor is back. I need to report this large transfer to her. Please wait a moment."

Lin Xiao Tian nodded, saying nothing more.

Just then, a stout man in a suit walked in through the entrance. Clearly, this was the supervisor Mao Min had mentioned.

"Supervisor, there's a customer who..." Mao Min began to mention the transfer, but was cut off before she could finish.

"Mao Min! What is going on with you?"
