Chapter 719 Tongtong Goes to School

Su Wanru readily agreed, and after she changed, the three of them left for school.

Previously, due to the need to protect Tongtong, he hadn't personally taken him to see the school. He had only seen it in pictures, and had even found information about the entire school and the teachers' educational backgrounds. This made Liu Yifeng feel more at ease.

"Are we sure this won't cause any trouble?" Su Wanru was still a little worried, as they had been photographed before. Although the matter had been clarified and Tongtong's relationship with them explained, she still felt a little anxious.

Liu Yifeng gave her a reassuring look. "So what if we were photographed? We can't stop what's meant to happen. We've already addressed these kinds of things, and it's already a fact, so don't worry. We just need to be ourselves."

He felt that they weren't celebrities and there was no need to be secretive. They should exercise their rights as citizens.

Hearing Liu Yifeng's reply, Su Wanru felt a lot more at ease, but still felt something was different.

Upon arriving at the school, the teachers and principal were already waiting at the entrance. From the information Tongtong had found, this welcoming reception wasn't due to any special treatment for them, but rather a standard courtesy the school extended to every new student.

Liu Yifeng was very pleased with this. He himself believed in treating everyone equally and hoped his child wouldn't receive preferential treatment.

"Hello, Mr. Liu. Is this Tongtong?" Teacher Zhao, with whom Su Wanru had been in constant contact, appeared very approachable, gentle, and refined, her every word and action conveying her professionalism.

Tongtong politely smiled at Teacher Zhao. "Hello, Teacher. I'm Tongtong."

"Mr. Liu, because Tongtong is skipping grades to attend first grade, there might be an age gap between him and his classmates. But don't worry, I will help him familiarize himself with the class and ensure he integrates quickly."

This was perhaps a concern for every parent, not necessarily about the child's academic performance, but about their sense of belonging in the class and their interactions with peers.

A positive peer environment fosters good growth in a child. Therefore, Teacher Zhao preemptively addressed what parents were most concerned about before Liu Yifeng could even ask.

"Alright, Teacher Zhao. Wanru has told me you are an excellent teacher. I feel very reassured leaving Tongtong in your care." Liu Yifeng's expression was gentle, and he seemed very pleased with the school.

Su Wanru felt a weight lifted from her heart. As long as Tongtong and Liu Yifeng were satisfied, she would be truly at peace.

"Then we'll trouble you, Teacher Zhao. Tongtong will be in your care from now on," Su Wanru said politely to Teacher Zhao.

Teacher Zhao gently took Tongtong's small hand. "It's my duty. Please rest assured, Ms. Su and Mr. Liu. Our school upholds the philosophy of teaching and nurturing. Please trust that your choice is the right one."

"Yes, this is one of our most outstanding teachers for the first grade. Please be assured, parents, Tongtong will be well protected here."

The principal was aware of Su Wanru and Liu Yifeng's situation, as they knew about the gossip. Therefore, they took Tongtong's protection very seriously.

"Okay, thank you all for your help then." Liu Yifeng chatted casually with the principal for a few more moments before proceeding to pay the fees. Tongtong would be able to start his classes normally that day.

Liu Yifeng's thought was to let him adapt first and get acquainted with the other children. He wasn't worried about academics; he knew his own son was more intellectually agile than the average adult.

After completing Tongtong's registration, Su Wanru and Liu Yifeng left, and Tongtong began his first day of first grade.

"I wonder if Tongtong will adapt well," Su Wanru and Liu Yifeng said as they went to a small restaurant near the school to eat before heading back, planning to pick him up in the evening.

Liu Yifeng smiled. "I, his father, am not that worried, but you, his aunt, seem more nervous than Tongtong."

Su Wanru was indeed worried. She had never felt this way before. She had been telling herself that sending Tongtong to school was to gain knowledge, so she should be at ease. But the moment she actually left Tongtong at school, she became even more anxious.

"Don't worry. Even if you don't trust yourself, you have to trust Tongtong. He's a child with strong adaptability." Although Liu Yifeng was also reluctant to part, going to school was a natural part of childhood. It shouldn't be avoided just because one was smarter than others and stayed home all the time, as this would only harm him.

Hearing Liu Yifeng's comfort, Su Wanru could only try to reassure herself, but a part of her still felt a pang of reluctance.

After finishing their meal, the two parted ways. Su Wanru, genuinely worried, lingered around the school. Liu Yifeng, on the other hand, went home for a good rest. He hadn't been able to sleep well due to staying in hotels during their travels. Now that they were back and Tongtong was at school, he could finally get some proper sleep.

Checking the time, Liu Yifeng felt it was time to pick up his son. He stretched, feeling that he had indeed slept very soundly.

"Don't tell me you've been here the whole time and haven't gone home?" As he arrived at the school gate, Liu Yifeng saw Su Wanru standing in the crowd. He had only guessed, thinking he had arrived early, but she was already waiting, having secured a prime spot to be the first person Tongtong saw after school.

Su Wanru smiled sheepishly. "You can think that. I was just too worried about Tongtong. If anything happened, I wouldn't be able to get here immediately. I didn't have anything else to do this afternoon, so I decided to wait for Tongtong, especially since it's his first day."

Liu Yifeng gave her a thumbs-up, recognizing Su Wanru's deep affection for Tongtong.

"Auntie, Dad."

Tongtong had finished school and, seeing Liu Yifeng and Su Wanru, ran towards them. He looked happy and was smiling as he left school, indicating he had a good time.

"How was it? Are you adapting well?" Su Wanru anxiously asked about Tongtong's experience.

"Tongtong likes it here very much and enjoys playing with his classmates," Tongtong happily recounted the interesting things that happened in class.

"Jia Jia, see you tomorrow." After answering Su Wanru's question, he saw his newly made friend, another child who appeared slightly taller than Tongtong.

"Tongtong, see you tomorrow."
