He had initially thought about giving her some face since she was a woman, but she didn't seem to care much about her reputation, so he decided to throw caution to the wind.
The woman opposite him frowned, likely taken aback by Wu Haoyu's retort. She appeared somewhat hesitant.
Since she could leverage the audience's support, Wu Haoyu figured it was a good tactic and decided to employ it himself.
It was evident that she hadn't anticipated him doing the same, and her initial shock quickly gave way to a composed demeanor.
"Of course, it was bought here; otherwise, I wouldn't have come," she replied, her voice lowering noticeably, betraying a hint of panic.
Wu Haoyu, holding Tongtong, who had been standing by, and the woman's card, led the way to the office.
"Tongtong, I'm entrusting this to you. You must help Uncle Wu," he said, knowing Tongtong's passion for and participation in his engaging activities. He felt confident Tongtong could discern the authenticity of the card.
Tongtong nodded. "Don't worry, Uncle Wu. I'll definitely judge it accurately." He nodded seriously, as if accepting a crucial mission.
In truth, he had been observing the card's authenticity all along. Wu Haoyu used very special materials, not easily replicated by everyone, which he had intended to be a distinguishing factor.
From a distance, it looked genuine, but he needed to check the feel of it. Wu Haoyu then took out the card the woman had brought.
The moment Tongtong touched the card, he immediately nodded at Wu Haoyu. "Uncle Wu, based on the card's feel, I think it's genuine. We're just not sure when it was purchased. If she bought it within a week after my dad exposed her, then it would definitely be real."
He said this to Wu Haoyu with wide, innocent eyes.
"That's right, Tongtong is such a smart child! How could I not have thought of that? I almost got tricked again," Wu Haoyu exclaimed, patting his forehead.
"Actually, Uncle Wu doesn't need to worry. Can Tongtong use the front desk computer?" Tongtong asked, still appearing very innocent, looking at Wu Haoyu and Assistant Xiao Li.
Upon hearing Tongtong, Wu Haoyu nodded immediately. "Of course."
Tongtong was then led to the front desk by Xiao Li. Tongtong, with impressive speed, unlocked the computer and navigated back to the previous event page.
Xiao Li was astounded. The computer's system had been completely reset. Yet, this young child could restore it in moments to the system that had cost them a fortune to set up, which was truly remarkable.
Seeing Xiao Li's shock, Wu Haoyu felt a sense of pride. While he was inwardly proud, he had also learned about Tongtong's participation in "The Brain" when he was learning about Liu Yifeng.
Witnessing it firsthand, he was indeed impressed. Such a young child, so proficient with computers; the more he looked at Tongtong, the more he liked him.
After each event concluded, Wu Haoyu would reset the system and prepare for the next one, ensuring the authenticity and validity of the activities. If an event was declared unique, it was indeed unique.
This was the special arrangement Wu Haoyu intended to implement for the model factory. Perhaps those who intended to cause trouble were aware of this system.
Since it was an older event, the cards, while similar to the current ones, had different serial numbers. It was unlikely for anyone to specifically remember these numbers.
The current event page would only process cards from the present event. If one tried to use an older model card, it simply wouldn't register in the system.
Tongtong casually tapped a few keys on the keyboard, and all previous serial numbers appeared. He searched for the serial number on the woman's card in the search bar, and it directly showed up, indicating that the woman had indeed made the purchase previously.
Hearing Tongtong's words, Wu Haoyu sighed with resignation. Nevertheless, he decided to resolve the matter. Since these events had unfolded because of him, he had to handle them properly.
"But Uncle Wu, you still need to ask the name of that little brother from earlier, as the buyer's name will also be recorded here," Tongtong added as Wu Haoyu was about to leave the office.
"Alright, no problem. Tongtong is amazing, truly Uncle's great helper," he replied. Although he had already accepted the situation in his mind, he still wanted to confirm.
Wu Haoyu then walked directly to the little boy.
"Hey, what are you doing? Why are you getting so close to my son!" the woman immediately blocked the boy, displaying a strong protective instinct.
Seeing the woman's demeanor, Wu Haoyu didn't approach further. He stood directly in front of the woman and asked, "Little friend, what's your name?"
"Why do you want to know my son's name? Are you trying to check his household registration? I'm telling you, don't try any tricks," the woman said, covering the little boy's mouth to prevent him from speaking.
Wu Haoyu frowned. "Little friend, tell me, what's your name? If you tell me, I'll give you a card for free."
He ignored whatever the woman was saying and spoke directly to the boy, essentially holding the boy's leverage. Upon hearing Wu Haoyu's offer, the boy immediately pulled away from his mother's hand.
"Uncle, my name is Li Zihao," the boy said obediently, standing beside Wu Haoyu and extending his hands, awaiting the card.
"Very good, here you go. Go play now," Wu Haoyu said.
Hearing the boy's name, he understood everything.
"What? Just by knowing my son's name, you can tell if this model card is real or fake?" The woman was clearly surprised when the child revealed his name.
Wu Haoyu caught this reaction, and a confident smile spread across his lips.
He moved closer to the woman. "I'd say, you're so nervous now because you don't even know your little boy's name, do you? Or perhaps you didn't expect me to ask for his name."
The woman clearly sensed his smile and started to back away. Her former arrogance was completely gone, revealing her growing fear.
"Nonsense! How could I not know my son's name? Li Zihao, right? Stop talking about irrelevant things. Have you finished verifying the evidence? Tell me, how will you compensate me?" She cleared her throat, regaining her proud demeanor.
"Well, the evidence has been verified. It is indeed a genuine card, and it was purchased during our event. There is no doubt about that," Wu Haoyu stated, believing he should acknowledge what was true.
