Liu Yifeng hesitated for a moment, then led her to a secluded spot.
Seeing Liu Yifeng's secretive demeanor, Su Wanru knew something significant was afoot. "Hurry up and tell me, what exactly is going on?"
"Yun Duo'er is your biological sister, right?"
"Didn't that result already come out? Why are you still asking?" Su Wanru was confused.
Could it be that this matter was related to Duo'er?
Liu Yifeng didn't answer, and instead posed another question: "Do you know that Yun Duo'er has a child?"
Upon hearing this, Su Wanru repeatedly shook her head. "Impossible. I specifically checked her information; she's unmarried and hasn't even dated anyone. How could she possibly have a child?"
"But she absolutely has a son!" Liu Yifeng stated with certainty.
Seeing that Liu Yifeng wasn't joking, Su Wanru was stunned. "No one outside knows about this. How did you find out? You're not just trying to amuse me, are you?"
"How could I possibly amuse you with something like this? Do I look like I'm joking?" Liu Yifeng's face was serious the entire time.
Su Wanru saw that it seemed to be true, and her expression stiffened slightly. "Are you close with her?"
"Not at all. I could count the number of times we've met on one hand!"
"If you're not close, then on what basis are you claiming my sister has a son? Do you know how detrimental rumors can be to an artist's career? It could have a huge impact on her career." Su Wanru's expression turned somewhat angry.
Although she and Liu Yifeng were good friends, Duo'er was her biological sister. Her family had already failed her sister in so many ways, and now she couldn't allow anyone to negatively affect her own sister.
"Don't rush. I have no intention of deliberately harming her. Very few people know about this, and it's been kept very confidential!" Liu Yifeng quickly tried to placate her.
His words only made Su Wanru more anxious. "Stop beating around the bush and tell me how you know this. Do you have any proof?"
As Liu Yifeng himself had said, he hadn't met Duo'er many times. How could he possibly know something so private? What was it that she didn't know?
"Because Tongtong is her son!"
The moment Liu Yifeng uttered these words, the paternity test report in Su Wanru's hand slipped and fell to the floor. By the time she reacted, she quickly bent down and picked it up.
Then, she stared intently into Liu Yifeng's eyes. "Do you know what you're saying? How could Tongtong possibly be Duo'er's son? I haven't visited your filming site. When Tongtong and Duo'er met, they acted like strangers, completely unfamiliar with each other."
If they were truly mother and son, it wouldn't be like this. How could a mother see her son and have no reaction at all? Even Tongtong saw Yun Duo'er without saying a word. Could it be that Tongtong didn't know Duo'er was his mother?
But that didn't seem right either. She clearly remembered Liu Yifeng mentioning that Tongtong was sent over by his mother around May of this year. This meant that Tongtong had been living with his mother for years. So how could he not recognize Yun Duo'er! A normal child, upon seeing their biological mother, would surely rush forward and hug her tightly! But he didn't. No one would have guessed they were mother and son.
At this moment, her mind was filled with too many questions she wanted answered.
"You know, Yun Duo'er's profession is very sensitive. If her having a child out of wedlock were to be exposed, it would be a huge blow to her career. So, she sent Tongtong to me."
After hearing Liu Yifeng's explanation, Su Wanru was half-believing, half-skeptical. "So, she abandoned her own son for her career?"
"I don't know what she was thinking, but Tongtong is indeed her son!" Liu Yifeng said.
"What on earth was she thinking? Tongtong is such a wonderful child. How could she just give him up? Seeing her own son without any reaction, how heartbroken must Tongtong be?" She couldn't imagine the scene of Tongtong seeing his own mother and being unable to acknowledge her. Honestly, if Liu Yifeng hadn't said it, she wouldn't have been able to tell the relationship between Tongtong and Duo'er.
"One can only say that everyone has their own ambitions. I am very grateful to her for giving me such an excellent son. As for her abandoning her child for her career, that is her own choice. Tongtong is a strong child, and he can accept this reality." Liu Yifeng said.
Speaking of this, Su Wanru had a question. "You just said you've met Duo'er no more than ten times. Then how did she end up having a child with you?"
Liu Yifeng suddenly felt a bit awkward. "It was actually an accident. Four years ago, I got drunk at a bar. I don't know what happened, but when I woke up, I was in a hotel room with your sister, and we were both naked."
Hearing this, Su Wanru roughly understood what had happened. But what angered her was that Liu Yifeng, as a man, should have taken responsibility after sleeping with a woman. How could he let her sister give birth and raise the child alone for so long?
After hearing Su Wanru's accusation, Liu Yifeng explained, "It's not that I didn't want to take responsibility, but your sister didn't let me. She also forbade me from mentioning it. I thought the matter was over, and it wasn't until Tongtong appeared that I learned she was pregnant and had given me a child!"
After hearing Liu Yifeng's explanation, Su Wanru's hostility towards him lessened. "I wonder how Duo'er gave birth to the child. Do her adoptive parents know about it? Do you know anything about her family background? Has she ever told you anything?"
Liu Yifeng shook his head. "No, she's never told me anything about herself."
"What about Tongtong? Has he said anything?" Su Wanru asked again.
"I asked him. He said he never met his mother's family after he was born, and he lived with a nanny since he was little, only seeing his mother occasionally!"
Su Wanru fell silent. Logically, Tongtong was over three years old; it was impossible he hadn't met Duo'er's current parents even once. But he truly hadn't. This left only two possibilities: first, her adoptive parents had passed away; second, she had cut ties with her adoptive parents. But regardless of which it was, Duo'er's childhood must have been unhappy, and she, as her elder sister, had never done anything for her. Thinking of this, she felt immense self-reproach.
Seeing Su Wanru's expression, Liu Yifeng knew what she was thinking and quickly comforted her. "Don't think too much about it. It's not your fault. Even if she knew you were her biological sister, she wouldn't resent you. After all, it wasn't you who sent her away, but your parents."
"No, you don't understand. If I were her, I would definitely hate my parents, and also my siblings who weren't sent away. But I'm not sure if she even knows she was sent away!" Su Wanru said, a little lost.
